Chapter Text
If you’re wondering how he ended up back in Gravity Falls after four years away… Never? Well. Honestly, I couldn’t really explain it to you either.
He told himself that finishing his last year of high school here, before heading off to college, would add something special to his personal story.
But deep down, he knew that was a lie. A bad one.
Coming back wasn’t about running away.
Coming back… was about digging up what had been buried.
Returning to this town for a reason he couldn’t quite put into words.
He said it was for school. That he didn’t feel comfortable in Piedmont anymore. That it was the scholarship for the most prestigious science university. The test scores. The need for space.
But deep down, he knew it was something else.
“To move forward, you have to close the chapters you’ve left open.”
Gravity Falls felt different.
Not because the woods were drier or because there was a blue-tinged mist hanging in the forest,, but because there was no one left to look up with and say, “Did you see that?”
No shouting. No spark.
Just him.
