Ollie is giddy with excitement. He has something planned. It’s his and Esteban’s first anniversary so he wants to make it cute and be very romantic. Esteban deserves cute and romantic. So with the help of some friends, Ollie has arranged a nice date for Esteban. Ollie has hired out a movie theatre and they will be showing all of Esteban’s favourite spider-man movies and Ollie has made sure all of Esteban’s favourite foods and snacks and drinks will be there.
Since it has to be a surprise, Ollie has asked Max and Kimi to drive Esteban there and pretend it’s for something else. Meanwhile Ollie is arranging the final things at the theatre while he waits for Esteban to arrive.
He smiles when he spots Esteban walking up to him with Max and Kimi. Esteban is telling them very seriously that he can’t stay too long.
“I need to be home on time to see Ollie,” Esteban says, “It is our first anniversary. So I really want to spend time with him and make him feel special.”
“That will all work out,” Max says knowingly. “The two of you are cute together.”
“You are,” Kimi agrees.
They lead Esteban to where Ollie is standing, a bouquet of red roses in his hand.
Esteban’s eyes widen and then his face breaks into a smile.
“Happy anniversary, babe,” Ollie says with a smile of his own.
Esteban runs closer to him and kisses him. “Happy anniversary,” he says too. “You have planned a date? And Max and Kimi helped.”
Ollie nods. “I hope you’ll enjoy it. I wanted to surprise you and Max and Kimi helped with the logistics.”
“Thank you,” Esteban says, tearing up a little. He kisses Ollie again.
Max and Kimi quietly say goodbye and leave them to their date. Esteban is even happier when he realizes Ollie arranged an entire movie marathon for him with all of his favourites.
They sit down next to each other, holding hands during the movies. Ollie smiles at Esteban chats about all the details excitedly, his face lighting up constantly at all his favourite moments. His boyfriend is so cute!
“Thank you for all of this, this was sweet and special,” Esteban says at the end of the movie marathon.
Ollie kisses him, “You deserve all this and more,” he says. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” Esteban says, kissing Ollie again.
They go home together. Esteban puts his flower in a vase and they curl up on the couch together, Iris jumping on their laps as well. Ollie is pleased because he could show Esteban how much he loves him and pleased because it was such a lovely day. He likes being boyfriends with Esteban. Every day with him is special already, though this one was extra special. Something they won’t forget for a very long time.
