"There's a letter. It's from the King." was all that Katsuki's mother told him before herding him into the living room. Izuku, curious as ever, is also in the living room with Katsuki's father.
What the hell is this? Katsuki's tail flicks in annoyance.
“Katsuki, sit down.” Masaru, Katsuki's father, tells him. “I'm sure your mother already told you, but the King has sent a letter. For you.”
“Okay?” Katsuki had wandered near the Vampire Manor before (even though his parents had strictly told him not to) but he never thought the King would send him a letter.
“It's a summons. You're to report to the Manor in three day's time.” Mitsuki, Katsuki's mother, interrupts.
What? Katsuki watches Izuku's ears perk up in confusion. He vaguely registers that his father is talking to him. The whole world sounds like he's underwater. He knew that the King wasn't a fan of werewolves or werecats, but not enough to summon him to his manor just to execute him.
“Katsuki! Did you hear me?”
“What? No, sorry.”
“The King is sending one of his royal guards to bring you to the Manor. He said to pack a week's worth of clothes.” Okay, so maybe he won't kill me immediately.
“I'm going with him!” Izuku shouted suddenly, as he shot up from the couch.
What? “What?” Katsuki asked as he stood up as well. “No, you're not.”
“Yes, I am. What if they want to hurt you or something? I have to protect you. Besides, I've always wanted to see the Vampire Manor.”
“It's not your job to protect me. You're not coming.”
“I'm coming whether you want me to or not!”
“You can't! What if they hurt you too? A werecat is already bad enough, what do you think they'd do if they saw I brought a werewolf with me?”
“That doesn't matt-”
“Yes, it does! It would kill me if you got hurt because of me.”
“Kacchan.” Izuku stepped closer to Katsuki, until they were almost nose-to-nose. “I want to go with you, and you know, when I want something, I will stop at nothing to get it. Let me come with you.” They both paused.
“Fine. Just…don't get yourself killed.” Katsuki huffed out.
“Yay!” Izuku threw himself around Katsuki in his excitement.
“Get off.” Katsuki complained as he tried to wriggle out of Izuku's grasp. After a moment, he was finally released. Izuku dashed off, presumably to pack. Katsuki turned to his parents.
“Son-” Masaru tried, but Katsuki cut him off.
“I have to pack.” He left the living room and made up the stairs to his room.
“Dad, please.” Shoto begged.
“I said no, Shoto. I am not sending a summons to a werecat you've seen roaming around the forest. I just will not do it.” Enji responded.
“Fine.” Shoto dropped his fork to cross his arms and glare at the food. Food we wouldn't even need to eat if Dad would let us go hunting.
“C'mon Shoto, eat your dinner” Fuyumi urged. She was getting tired of these nightly arguments about Shoto's crush.
“Not until Father sends a summons to the werecat from the woods.” Shoto snipped back angrily
“How would I even know where to send the letter?” Enji proclaimed.
“He lives near the east edge of the Blood Forest. I've followed him home a few times.” Shoto responded
“Shoto, you're such a creep.” Natsuo responded.
“Ditto.” Touya said.
“Boys, be nice to your brother.” Rei told them.
“Yeah, Natsu. Be nice to me.” Shoto taunted.
“Why, you little-” Natsuo tried to lunge across the table at Shoto, before his father pushed him back into his seat.
“Boys! Enough!” Enji shouted.
“Dad! Will you please send the summons?” Shoto begged once more.
“Fine!” Enji relented “Will this get you to finally stop picking fights with your brothers?”
“Yes!” Shoto lied, but his dad didn't need to know that.
“I'll send the summons.” Enji said.
“And! Send one of the guards to escort him!” Shoto added
“And I'll send one of the guards to escort him.” Enji sighed.
Shoto happily pranced up the staircase to his room. Tomorrow, the werecat he'd been watching in the woods would finally be at the Manor. He was beyond excited. When Shoto opened the door to his room, he found two of his best friends waiting there for him.
“Ochaco! Tenya!” he exclaimed, surprised. “Have you heard the news about the summons?” he asked, excitedly.
“You mean the summons for your werecat crush that you begged your father to send? Yeah, we heard about it.” said Ochaco, hanging upside down off of his massive bed. That cannot be comfortable.
“Oh, be nice, Chaco, he's excited.” Tenya scolded, lounging on Shoto's sofa.
Tenya and Ochaco have been Shoto's best friends since they were kids. Tenya's family is also of high social status, whereas Ochaco's family had lived in the Blood Forest for many generations. Ochaco is the first in her family to pursue witchcraft, but she's damn good at it. Tenya comes from a long line of vampires, just like Shoto.
“Tenya, how's your brother been?” Shoto said, desperate to change the topic. Tenya's brother, Tensei, had been attacked by a human vampire hunter a few months ago. It had been the first time any of them had heard of a vampire hunter in almost 2600 years, before Touya and Tensei were born.
“Oh! He's been well. He's recovering fast, as we Iida's are known to do.” Tenya recounted.
“That's great. I do hope he's well.” Shoto responded.
Ochaco sat up from her spot on the bed. “Enough about that! Shoto, tell us about this werecat boy you were so insistent on!”
Shoto flushed. “Well, if you insist.”
The day had finally come. Katsuki and Izuku were being summoned to the Vampire Manor. The pair had already said their goodbyes to Katsuki's parents when they heard a knock at the door.
Masaru went to open the door. Standing in the doorway was a man with ashy blond hair, golden eyes, and huge, ruby-colored wings. “Hi! I'm Keigo.” he introduced himself. “I'll be escorting Sir Katsuki Bakugou to the Vampire Manor.”
“And Sir Izuku Midoriya” Izuku chimed in.
“I'm sorry?” Keigo questioned.
“I'm going with him.”
“Oh. Okay. Well, right along then!” Katsuki and Izuku gave their last goodbyes to Mitsuki and Masaru, before following Keigo out the door.
“So, Katsuki. I know you're a werecat, but is Izuku a werewolf?” Keigo asked.
“I am! I hope that won't be an issue?” Izuku responded.
“Oh, no worries, it's all chill! I was just curious.” Keigo said.
The werecat boy was finally here! The Todoroki family was lined up in the throne room, and King Enji's most trusted guard, Keigo, would be leading him inside any minute now.
“Bring him in, Keigo!” Enji shouted so he could hear him through the large throne room doors.
The large doors opened and Shoto finally saw him. The werecat boy he'd been dreaming about for months now. He was a bit nervous, but he was radiant nonetheless. He was gorgeous, practically glowing and he had…a friend. A werewolf boy with green hair and eyes, and a smattering of freckles. He was gorgeous, too. But, unexpected.
“Hello, I'm Prince Shoto.” Shoto said as he made his way off his throne and down the steps to shake their hands. “I summoned you here. I knew you were gorgeous, but I didn't expect you to bring an equally gorgeous friend with you. Nonetheless, I'm excited to have you here. I hope we'll be able to grow close.”
