Chapter Text

Taehyung was curled up on the sofa watching reruns of a show he’d loved when he first watched it two years ago, with a hot mug of tea and a blanket. If you asked him it was a pretty ideal way to spend a Saturday night, whether the cause of it was the fact their heating had stopped working mid-Winter or not. They’d needed to get it fixed for over a week now, but none of them could be bothered to call up anyone to ask them to sort it out, and instead had just spent the week wearing more than the average number of jumpers around their flat and drinking lots of hot drinks.

It was just getting to the tense part of the episode, where the main character found out the guy she was interested in wasn’t who he said he was, when his phone chimed and lit up telling him he had a snapchat off Hoseok, and he debated in his head for longer than he'd care to admit whether it was worth reaching his hands out of the protection of the blanket, before finally the desire to see what his boyfriend had to say won out.

When he opened the snap he was greeted with the image of Hoseok's face, a few strands of hair plastered to his forehead with sweat, of which his face also had a light sheen, from the dancing. is yoongi home yet? hes ignoring my msgs so i assume hes not. Taehyung snapped a picture of himself sitting on the otherwise empty sofa and sent it along with confirmation that he was indeed, all alone. He was a little disappointed when the reply didn't feature a picture of his boyfriend's face, but rather he'd quickly snapped a picture of the studio in the mirror and typed the caption over it, i made him promise me hed go home 2 hours ago, hes getting stressed again. Taehyung didn't have to ask what he meant by that, knowing Yoongi had been struggling to get the track he was trying to finish exactly how he wanted it. Another snap came through from his other boyfriend seconds after the previous one. he also started work at 6 this morning. That put a slight frown on Taehyung's face, as he glanced at the numbers in the corner of his phone screen informing him it was currently gone 10pm. He'd slept in until almost midday, so he'd thought little of it when he woke up to an already empty flat, assuming Yoongi had his usual 11 o'clock shift. He replied with his sad face, >:-( ill go and see him. Hoseok replied with a smiley face then, making a heart with his free hand thanks cutie <3 see u after practice!

Taehyung smiled at the affectionate message before switching off the tv by the remote and wrapping the blanket around his shoulders like a cape of warmth. He supposed one benefit of having a freezing cold flat was that he'd barely feel the difference outside.

Living in the centre of the city meant their rent was above average, but divided between the three of them it wasn't as bad as it could've been. And they'd got lucky in finding a place that was close to both the dance school Hoseok had got a job teaching at, and a place that rented music studios to people who didn't have the recording equipment themselves, which was ideal for Yoongi. The noise they got from being in the middle of a busy part of the city wasn't ideal, but it was a small disadvantage to an otherwise perfect living situation. He was especially glad of the five minute walking distance to Yoongi's studio now, since he'd received his fair share of puzzled looks while walking around the city centre with a woolly blanket balled up against his chest.

As he was walking he sent a text to Yoongi asking how to find him from the entrance to the studio, because while Taehyung had been inside before to record the vocals for a song or two at his boyfriend's insistence that his voice was perfect for something he was producing, he'd had Yoongi's lead to follow every time until now. The older replied not two minutes later, and Taehyung was relieved he hadn't decided to ignore his messages like he had Hoseok's- most likely because he didn't realise Taehyung was on his way to say the same things their other boyfriend had been.

He followed up his explanation of where he was with the question of why Taehyung needed to know, which the younger ignored, instead slipping his phone into his pocket and heading into the building. The first thing he noticed was that unlike their flat, this place definitely had working heating, and the second was that it all looked very... professional. The decor was largely black and white and very clean, and it was slightly intimidating. But nevertheless, he continued down the empty corridor- because who except Yoongi would still be here at this time on a Saturday?- until he reached the room which, upon peering through the small window on the door was confirmed, contained his boyfriend.

Yoongi didn't seem surprised at the intrusion, but there was still confusion in his voice when he greeted his visitor. "Hey Tae. What are you doing here?"

"Oh you know," he stalled vaguely giving himself time to take off the jumper he was wearing over a shirt. It was certainly less cold in here than everywhere else he'd been so far that day. "Just thought I'd give my cute, over-working boyfriend a visit," he explained, pulling out the chair at the desk that Yoongi wasn't sitting at and dropping into it comfortably, cuddling the jumper into the blanket pile folded between his arms.

The other did at least look slightly guilty even as he rolled his eyes, and Taehyung had no doubt he'd had the same reaction to Hoseok voicing his concern earlier. "I'm not over-working Tae, don't worry." He placed a hand reassuringly on his knee, stroking his thumb in circles there to soothe him further. But Taehyung still wasn't buying it. "I just had to re-record this section and I'm still trying to make it work. After three hours," he added bitterly, letting a hint of frustration slip into his tone that gave away that Hoseok had been right that he was getting stressed about it. And if he'd been stressed when Hoseok had spoken to him, he'd probably only got more frustrated trying to make it work since then.

"A little birdie told me you worked an extra five hours this morning too."

"That little birdie is a traitor who sent you here, isn't he?" Despite the fact he sounded mildly annoyed at Hoseok pulling Taehyung into badgering him too, there was a trace of fondness in his voice and eyes.

Taehyung shrugged easily, "he didn't not send me. So," he announced, standing up to open up the blanket- his not-very-secret weapon- and draping it as best as he could over himself and Yoongi. It fell a little awkwardly on the gap between the armrests of their two chairs, but Taehyung had wheeled his close enough that both of them were decently covered. Yoongi looked dazed but amused at the turn of events. "I brought this so we can be comfortable because I'm going to stay as long as you do," Taehyung informed him, snuggling the blanket up to his chin to make his point clearer.

"You're not," Yoongi told him, though he hadn't yet tried to lift his arms free from where they were trapped under the blanket so he could return to the computer screen in front of him, which Taehyung took as a good sign.

"Sure I am," he replied cheerfully. "It's a nicer temperature here than at home anyway. I'll just stay here- on a Saturday night- and watch you work until you're done, and then we can go home together."

"Taehyung, stop trying to guilt me into giving up on this track," he said reproachfully.

"Yoongi," the younger mimicked his tone, "I'm right in saying you've been working almost non-stop since 6am this morning, and you'd probably have a much better mindset to look at that track with tomorrow. If you've been working on it for hours now, maybe you just need to take a break."

The older sighed, bringing his hand up to run it through his dyed pink locks. "I guess I am kind of tired now," he admitted. "But I feel like I'm so close to getting it."

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, "but were you saying that two hours ago too?" He challenged.

Yoongi looked him dead in the eyes for a moment, before heaving a heavily reluctant sigh and turning his chair away. "Fine," he conceded unhappily, reaching out of the blanket for the computer mouse. He looked at the open programme hesitantly for a second until he clicked the save button and closed it, reaching out to take his USB from the computer. "It's not fair that you use the fact I'm fucking weak for you both to guilt me into things," he complained. "I ignored Hoseok's texts for a reason." Taehyung ignored the complaints, lighting up happily at his boyfriend's eventual surrender when Yoongi picked up the scarf he'd left on the desk and wrapped it back around his neck.

"We only do it when we're worried about you," he contradicted. Yoongi stood up then, stretching his arms above his head and letting out a groan that told of how long he'd been sat there, giving Taehyung chance to pull his own jumper back on.

When Yoongi dropped his hands again and put them in his pockets, they were quickly pinned to his sides as knitted material and a pair of arms were wrapped around his torso. "It's cold out, that jacket isn't going to be warm enough," Taehyung informed him with an amused grin that Yoongi couldn't see, tucking the blanket securely over the older's shoulders.

"No fucking way," he deadpanned, as Taehyung had known he would. He wiggled free of the younger's grasp, making him giggle until Yoongi somehow managed to turn him round and wrap the blanket around him instead. "Get out there," Yoongi told him with a grin, pushing him lightly towards the door. "If you think it's so cold, you can wear the blanket around Seoul yourself. I'm sure I'll live."

The dark haired male happily pulled it tighter around his shoulders while Yoongi rolled his eyes indulgently while smiling, unable to even pretend he disliked the situation. Taehyung waited as he locked up the studio, though they left the building unlocked because apparently Yoongi wasn't the only person staying late after all. As they stepped out into the street Taehyung nearly tripped over the bottom of his blanket cape so Yoongi picked up the bottom and draped it over his shoulders, effectively folding it in half.

"You're really embarrassing, why do I even want to be seen with you?" He asked with little sincerity in his voice, and despite his words, reached out to join their hands between them, pulling Taehyung even closer to him than before. Taehyung grinned at the subtle affection, choosing not to point out the fact that Yoongi was lightly shivering the whole way home until they stepped through the door to their flat and he all but ran to put on a jumper before joining his boyfriend how he had been on their sofa.
