Summary:

When he’d first been put in the tower, he’d thought it was just a waiting game.

Endure the endless silence, the walls that only spoke of his own screams, the rattle of the chains, the clanking of the winch. They were going to come do something to him eventually, something beyond just using him as a living power source, draining him of his golden magic every couple of days.

Surely they would come.

He went a long time without making any noise. Too long. Long enough he started to fear that if he broke the silence? Well...maybe it'd just break him right back.

HI! I'm a bit late for Beyond, but I bring a podfic! (Shout out Silver and the rest of the crew for being patient with me! Y'all are the best and I love and appreciate you guys <3)

This is for Amethyst's Mad King au, with a hell of a lot of angst, so please mind the tags!!!

This is also (currently) the third (and shortest) part of the series. I wanted to be able to still contribute to Beyond this year, but I just couldn't do more than 1k-ish, so here we are! If you want the context for all the Angst, then I'd recommend checking out the written pieces before this one!

I plan on (eventually) doing the rest of this series, but my priorities are fuckin WACK and I don't know when the motivation will strike me to do more, so no promises on the timeline of when it'll be posted!

This podfic has a heartbeat sound effect, but there's also a version without that, so pick whatever you're more comfortable with! Also, as I said in the tags, I did my best with the voice acting in this one, so there's, uh. Quite a bit of panic. If that, combined with the tags would be off-putting/triggering for you, I'd skip out on this one :P

Last note! I'm borrowing a v nice mic from a family member, so if you notice fluctuations in audio quality from one podfic to another from here on out, it's likely bc I'm switching between my cheap one and the high quality borrowed one!
