Summary
CRASH! The giant tree toppled in front of Dorothea. The small flames that flickered across its bark were quickly drowned by the rain, which was beating down in sheets from steely gray clouds. Dorothea hustled around the felled tree, careful not to let her long cloak snag on its twisting branches. That lightning strike was close, too close. The mages who cast it must be right on her tail. Another flash erupted overhead. It split in all directions, illuminating the dim sky for a moment before vanishing. Thunder boomed. Dorothea whirled around to see a battalion of mages running through the woods behind her....
