Dorothea hustled around the felled tree, careful not to let her long cloak snag on its twisting branches. That lightning strike was close, too close. The mages who cast it must be right on her tail. Another flash erupted overhead. It split in all directions, illuminating the dim sky for a moment before vanishing. Thunder boomed.
