Wayward Jujutsu Brothers

Summary:

After a mishap with what should have been a simple curse, Yuji and Choso find themselves in a different world, with no clue where their friends are or even if there is a way to get back home. This world has no curses like the ones they know, but it is just as dangerous of a place as their own. Enter in the Winchester brothers, who they stumble across and shenanigans are afoot as Gabriel and Gojo enter the scene.

At least Yuji learned English
Choso still hates phones
And someone kills god, what do you mean that's not supposed to happen?

Chapter 1: Choso, We're Not in Tokyo Anymore

Summary:

When did Japan get so American Mid-Westy?

Notes:

In theory, would Choso probably not speak a lick of English beyond a few words he picked up? Yeah. But as funny as that language barrier would be, I also speak ZERO Japanese beyond 'Hai' which I've only learned means 'yes' by watching anime subbed. So I don't exactly know how to write said language barrier, nor do I have the patience to have Yuuji teach Choso English.

Also ' when someone is talking is finger quotes

Anyways this has been in my brain for a while as "Choso would so hate Dean." And voila! I eventually gave in to make this part crack, part angst spn/jjk crossover fic no one asked for. If Dean is your fave, turn back now bc there is gonna be SO much Dean bashing.

Finally, shoutout to my amazing beta Wyked!

Chapter Text

Choso figured it would be a good idea for Yuji to have real-battle experience using blood manipulation before the big fight with Sukuna. Which is how Yuji ended up fighting a curse that was definitely not the grade 1 both he and Choso were informed it was supposed to be.

Which, fine, whatever. It's not like it's that big of a deal. He killed Mahito, and that bastard was way worse than this thing. Yuji was actually doing pretty good using blood manipulation too. Choso was mostly just supervising, but he did step in every so often.

What Yuji didn't understand was how he and Choso were fighting a curse in Toyama, Japan one minute and then wherever here was now. At the moment, Yuji's best definition of here was a forest. And it was a lot colder than before. Also there was snow on the ground? Not a lot per se, but still a good 7-10 centimeters. When there was absolutely no snow on the ground previously.

"Choso?" Yuji calls, slightly panicking at the thought of not knowing where he was. He probably would freak out if Choso wasn't there.

"I'm here Yuuji," Choso steps into view and Yuji almost immediately relaxes. He still keeps his guard up, but strangely he can't sense the curse anymore. Or any cursed energy beyond him and Choso, for that matter.

"Uh, do you know where we are? This definitely isn't Toyama."

Choso hums. "Unfortunately, I don't recognize any of this. I believe this has to be part of that curse's technique somehow, though. Perhaps you should call Gojo on your... Cell."

Yuji brightens, "Good idea, thanks Choso!" He quickly pulls his phone out and hits dial on Gojo Sensei's number. Yuji does have to chuckle a little though. Despite Yuji's several attempts at explaining them, Choso still hasn't fully grasped how cell phones work. He has managed to use one for normal calls, but video calls seems beyond Yuji's older brother's grasp. And Choso types like an old man.

Yuji frowns. "It didn't go through. And I have a signal, it's weak, but I do have one."

"Perhaps there was an error? Or your signal... What do you call it when the 'wi-fi' goes away?"

The 15 year old shakes his head, "No the signal didn't drop. Also the voice said the number I was trying to reach didn't exist. Let me try Kusakabe San."

After trying to reach Ieri San, Okkotsku Senpai, Maki Senpai, and Inumaki Senpai, and getting the same 'number doesn't exist' message, Yuuji starts freaking out a bit internally. But he pushes his panic down. "Um, it's not going through. I'm gonna call you real quick to make sure it's not my phone or something."

The generic ringtone blares from Choso's phone, which Yuji got him, and the half-curse fumbles with the the device. "I— Remind me what I'm supposed to do again, Yuuji?"

Normally Yuji would find it funny, but right now he has no idea what's going on. He hangs up and takes a shaky breath. "I- let's look around. I can't reach anyone, so I think maybe we should try and figure out what's going on."

Choso nods, "Alright. Do you have a particular direction in mind?"

It all looks the same, so Yuji just chooses to go East and hopes it doesn't get them lost. As if they aren't basically lost already. Miraculously, the pink haired teenager somehow managed to pick the right direction. It takes a good thirty minutes or more of walking, but the two brothers come upon a clearing.

The two exit the forest and come out onto a road. Looking the one direction, a large brick compound stands out. Two black doors that Yuuji assumes is the entrance are set in the ground and enclosed with brick and concrete.

"Um... Do you think we should knock?" Yuji asks his older brother.

Choso seems hesitant, as the building certainly looks foreboding, but he agrees. "I suppose so. We do need to know where we are. And perhaps how to get back to Tokyo."

Yuji walks right next to Choso as they approach the doors. He hopes that this goes well. Taking a breath, he raps a few times and waits to see of there's an answer. In all honesty, it's entirely possible the building is abandoned.

The theory of it being abandoned is quickly disproved when a tall man with sandy brown hair and green eyes opens it holding a shotgun. "The hell, who are you!?" The man barks in English.

Yuji has a distinct feeling that he and Choso are not in Japan anymore. Though right now he's more concerned about not being shot by this guy, considering he looks fairly willing to shoot. Choso tense and moves subtly and ever so slightly in front of his little brother. He also readies his technique in case he needs to protect Yuuji with a wall of blood.

"Uh..." Yuji starts. How in the world does he explain this one?

Notes:

Tokyo and Tohama are actually only about 10°F warmer than Lebanon, Kansas in December, and that generally applies to the low. Let's just pretend there was a cold front or something lol.

7 centimers is roughly 3 inches. 10 centimeters is roughly 4 inches.

Choso is 150 years old and has spent most of that time in a jar. You cannot tell me he isn't mystified by modern technology and a COMPLETE old man with cell phones.

The shotgun and Dean speaking English are what clue Yuuji in that he's not in Japan. Especially the shotgun, as Japan gun laws are VERY strict.

Chapter 2: Ancient Dreams In a Modern Land

Summary:

Dean does not want to deal with this. Unfortunately, that's basically the story of his life.

Notes:

I'm impatient and way to excited to not post these pretty quickly, so here's chapter two!

Each chapter will have a different character POV. So it will rotate, depending on who I think best tells the narrative for the chapted.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The day had started out fairly decently, Dean guessed. Other than the everyday stress of Michael being literally stuck in his head and everything. And he had a hangover, but that was normal at this point.

The knocking on the bunker door, however, was not normal, however. And while Dean doesn't feel like dealing with whatever nasty is probably on the other side, (Or just annoying thing) he unfortunately has no one else to push the job of answering the door to. Normally, he'd yell at Sam to do it, but he knows they guy is currently laying in the dark fighting off a migraine. And while Dean has told Sam to push through the pain of a lot of injuries, even he can never bring himself to say the same about migraines. Dean's never had one, but he can tell they suck ass.

And since he has no idea where Cas is at the moment, and no way in literal Hell is Dean letting Jack answer it, Dean begrudgingly does the job. Grabbing one of his shotguns, he goes to answer the door. Swinging it open he cocks the gun and... Does a doubly take. It's brief, only maybe a second before annoyance kicks in, but still. He'd been expecting anything, really.

...Except for a young teenage boy with pink hair in what looked like some sort of school uniform, and a guy he'd guess to be somewhere in his 20s with big black mark across his nose, brown hair in two buns, and some weird-ass cosplay looking outfit.

"The hell, who are you!?" Dean barks out, both annoyed and suspicious of the two. Dean tenses when he notices the older guy move in front of the younger one. Mainly because something feels off about him. Screams 'not human' in a way that Dean has come to mainly associate with demons or angels. Of course it could also be the ridiculously pale skin and huge shadows around his eyes. And the fact this guy is about as tall as Sam.

"Uh..." The pink haired teen stutters, and his gaze is planted firmly on the gun in Dean's hand. Dare Dean say the kid almost looks a little scared of the thing. Which he can get to an extent, he is pointing a gun at them, but this is America for crikes sake. Guns are a dime a dozen.

The kid takes a deep breath before looking up at Dean, "Ah, sorry sir, we didn't mean to disturb you it's just that..." He bites his lip, "We're kinda lost. Badly."

The boy stumbles over his words at first, and an accent slips through. Dean's would say English ain't this kids' first language. And while Dean isn't great with accents he hasn't heard much/often, this one sounds japanese?

Dean narrows his eyes. The kid seems trustworthy. Maybe. But at the same time something feels off about him as well, it's just not as strong as the other one's 'off' feeling. "Uh-huh. This is pretty damn far out to have gotten lost. What're you even doing out here?"

"Ah..." The pink haired (is it dyed?) kid stumbles again and takes a long pause. The older one seems fairly content to let the kid do the talking, although he's still definitely tense about the gun. "If I knew fully, I'd tell you? It's a really long story. Just if you could tell us where we are please?"

The suspicion grows, but even still, Dean's positive they aren't lying about being lost. "Kansas. It's about 20 miles to Lebanon from here."

The boy's eyes widen almost comically, "America!?" He gasps. Even the older one seems disturbed by this fact, but how the hell didn't they know what country they were in?

The pale man glances at Dean before leaning down a little and talking softly to the teen, but Dean can hear them anyways. Not that it really matters, considering he's speaking in a different language, so all Dean catches is names. "Yuji, it's ok. We'll figure this out."

"But how are we here!? There's no time for this! And sensei's number doesn't work— or anyone elses— and"

"Yuji!" Pale dude commands a bit more sternly, but he's still soft spoken. He puts a hand on the teen's, presumably Yuji, shoulder. "Calm yourself little brother. I'm here, no? I won't be going anywhere, and we'll figure this out together."

Yuji looks a little embarrassed by his small outburst. "Right," he mumbles. "Sorry, Choso."

"There is nothing to apologize for." Pale dude, who is apparently Choso, straightens up.

Dean eyes them both and decides that something weird is going on. He figures he may as well be straight about this, "Are you two even human?" Dean asks.

"W-what?" Yuji replies, glancing at Choso.

"C'mon. No one just accidentally stumbles across this place. You're too friendly to be angels, so are you demons? Cuz I swear to god if Crowley sent you to piss me off, it won't be pretty."

"Demons?" Yuji repeats, now very confused.

Choso looks equally lost, "I'm sorry, but what do you mean by demons?"

Dean groans. Great, so probably normal humans who got dragged into some crazy mess. "Yeah. They have black eyes usually. Sorry, look, it's just that this place is extremely hard to find. And most of the time if something's comin' here, it ain't friendly."

"Um... Maybe you could just direct us to town then?"

"Dean!" Sam calls. "Everything ok? I heard the door."

"Shit," Dean curses. He was hoping to deal with this fast and not drag Sam into it. But now Sam will definitely want to figure out every little detail. "Yeah, just uh-"

Sam walks up behind Dean, who looks over his shoulder at his brother. Sam peers over Dean. (he's not short, Sam's just freakishly tall, ok!?) "Are you guys lost or something?" Sam asks, brow furrowing. "You don't look like you're from around here."

The teen answers, "Uh, yeah. We are, and we're definitely not from here. Could we um... Could we come in maybe? It's a long story and we're not entirely not sure what happened?"

Before Dean can protest, Sam agrees, "Sure. At least let's get you two out of the cold. I'm Sam, and this is my brother Dean." Sam shoots Dean look with a clear message that Dean begrudgingly complies with. He lowers the shotgun.

The pink-haired kid smiles, "Thank you! I'm Yuji!"

"I'm Choso, Yuji's older brother." The brown haired one says. And Dean now gets why he'd stepped in front of Yuji when Dean had the gun. Dean would and has done the same.

Notes:

I'm aware that I had a small migraine tangent there😅 1) poor Sam. 2) I recently had my first one and I HATE them. The aura alone scared the bejeezus out of me.

So when I looked it up,it said Yuji is 5'8. And while we've never gotten an official height for Choso, most fans guess about 6'3 or 6'4. And for comparison, Gojo is 6'3 or over. And I'm too lazy to look at the comics and see if Choso looks taller than Gojo in any panels, so Imma say Choso is 6'3.

I forgot momentarily Dean watches anime, but at the same time he might watch it dubbed, so he may or may not recognize a japanese accent. Idk.

So, you get the conversation between Choso and Yuji, but Dean can NOT speak Japanese so he doesn't know squat of what was said😂

Chapter 3: How Did You Get Here?

Summary:

Sam has a migraine. If only Gabriel would actually help instead of being annoying.

Notes:

Sabriel and Destiel are established! If you want to see them both pine and get together, check out my s5 apocalypse fix-it fic Everything Around You Is Crumbling Down

Also it should be noted I'm still only in s5. I know what happens far beyond that, but I still have absolutely no clue how to write Jack😭 I also have no idea on the bunker layout. And this is set in s14, but if I ignore certain plot points, sorry.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Sam has been suffering in the dark since yesterday. He's had migraines since he was a teenager, but they come and go. Sometimes he can go a year or more without one and other times he'll have several in a span of a few months.

It's been a while since his last one, but thankfully the pounding behind hid eyes has started to subside. At first, he thinks the pounding on the door is his head. Until he realizes it was the front door. So he'd called to Dean and then to see for himself.

Which is how he is now sitting in the living room with Dean the two newcomers. Yuji and Choso; brothers, like them. Even without Choso having told him, it was fairly easy to tell he was older. Obviously, he looked older, but even beyond that. He was protective of Yuji, although he seemed to accomplish a subtlety about it that Dean never has. Or perhaps it's just because Sam hasn't threatened them.

Sam had texted Jack to stay in his room for a bit, just in case. He'd also texted Gabriel, in case he could help. Him and Dean sat across from Yuji and Choso. Over the past few minutes, Yuji has shifted closer and closer to Choso. It's small movements, but Sam picks it up. They must be close.

Sam noted when he'd first welcomed them in that Yuji looks young. The boy is clearly a teenager, even without the school uniform. He looks even younger than Jack does. Sam has to wonder what Yuji has been through, too. He bears two scars on his face, one through his right eyebrow, the other next to his mouth, on the left. Between that and Yuji's small movements closer to Choso, Sam can guess the teen has been through something.

"So um, yeah, that's basically everything. We were in Toyama, and then we were in the woods here." The pink haired boy rubs the back of his head.

"What're you holding back?" Dean asks gruffly.

 "Eh?"

"I can tell you're not telling us everything, so spill."

Yuji looks uncomfortable, and while Sam doesn't want to make the teen uneasy, they do need to know everything if they're gonna help them.

Yuji sighs, "What do you know about curses?"

"Spells done by witches to inflict harm and stuff. You telling me you messed with a witch, kid? If we have to call Rowena..."

Sam huffs a small laugh at Dean. Despite Dean's protests, Sam knows full well Rowena's grown on him. Sam has and always will be closer to the scottish witch, but Dean doesn't hate her either. Not like he used to.

Strangely, Yuji looks even more confused. As does Choso, although the older brother has stayed fairly quiet. He must just not be much of a talker. "Uh, no, not spells like in fantasy or manga. Curses. Spirits-like beings created by human's negative feelings."

Now its the Winchester's turn to be confused. "The hell?" Dean questions. "Kid, I've been hunting the supernatural since I was 10. And I've never heard of curses like you're talking about."

"Are you calling my brother a liar?" Choso asks fiercely. "Because he is not. Curses are very real."

"Guys, let's just calm down, ok?" Sam says. His migraine is starting to get worse again, and he can see Dean and Choso fighting very quickly. "No one is calling anybody a lier. We're just saying we've never heard of these curses before. And we've seen a lot."

"Yeah, there'd be a reason for that Sammoose!" Gabriel says cheerfully, appearing behind Yuji and Choso. The teen jumps and clenches his fists momentarily before relaxing them. Choso turns quickly and puts an arm in front of his little before realizing the new member isn't a threat to them. He still glares at Gabriel for startling Yuji.

"Care to share it?" Sam asks wryly.

"Hmmm, nope!" Gabriel grins. "I'd rather see if you chuckleheads can figure it out on your own."

Dean glares at the Archangel, "Counter offer. You tell us or I stab you with an angel blade."

Gabe waggles a finger at Dean, "Ah, ah, ah, don't threaten me ken doll. You don't want me to go after your Baby, do you?"

Dean's eyes widen in horror, "You wouldn't dare," he growls. "You promised to never touch her!"

The grin Gabriel gives Dean can only be described as shit-eating, "Y'know Dean-o, I recall promising no such thing."

"Gabriel," Sam groans. "Do you want Dean to stab you? Or light you on fire? Because threatening the Impala will make him dangerously close to doing both."

Gabe pouts, "I'm just having a little fun, Sammy."

Sam is not impressed, and he shoots Gabriel a look to tell the Archangel just that. Sometimes he wonders why he puts up with Gabriel. And then he remembers how sweet the angel can be at times.

"Who are you," Yuji asks hesitantly.

Gabriel immediately stops pouting, "I'm so glad you asked! I am the great and wondrous Archangel Gabriel!"

 "Like... A real angel?"

 "Yup!"

Choso leans down and murmurs to Yuji in Japanese, which Sam unfortunately does not know. "I am starting to believe we are not in our world, little brother. I sense no cursed energy aside from our own. And that Gabriel is definitely not human, nor is he a curse. He is something else entirely."

Gabriel smirks, "Y'know, Choso, you're pretty smart, even if you don't look it. Guessed the situation first try. So I'll give my own idiots a chance to guess as well. I believe in you Sammoose."

Sam groans, while Dean looks about ready to throw himself at Gabriel. "Gabe, I have a headache and I'm not in the mood for your games right now. And Dean never is. Just tell us. What cosmic disaster are we in the middle of again?

The Archangel pouts again— how can a being older than dirt be this childish? It's time like these Sam regrets his choice in a partner— and sighs. "Finnneeeeee. You're no fun." Gabriel teleports to sit next to Sam. Ridiculously close, but Sam's used to it at this point. "Those two," Gabe points at Yuji and Choso, "Are from a different universe. And I mean completely different one. It ain't parallel or even alternate. From what I can see from them, the laws are completely different from our own. So where we have all different beings, they just have these Curses."

Yuji eyes widen, "A different—!? How do we get back?"

"No idea!" Gabriel says it way too cheerfully, especially considering the teen's obvious panic.

"But we need to get back. We can't be here, not with—"

"Yuji," Choso consoles, "We'll figure it out. It's likely that curse we were fighting is the cause of this. If so, then I'm sure we can get home somehow."

"But we don't have time to waste. Sensei fights Sukuna in less than a month and if—" Yuji stumbles for a second, but continues to speak quickly, "If sensei fails then we have to be there."

"And we will be back by then. I promise, Yuji."

Yuji takes a deep breath, "Yeah, ok. We will." Yuji turn back towards the Winchesters and Gabriel, switching to English again. "Could you help us then, at least? And... Could we stay here?"

Sam smiles at Yuji, "Done and done. We have plenty of extra rooms and me and Dean are pretty used to dealing with crazy stuff at this point. Believe it or not, we've dealt with different universes before."

"They were all either parallel or alternate universe though," Gabe chimes in.

"Is there a difference?" Sam asks.

"Yup!" Gabriel smirks deviously and leans in, whispering to Sam, "I'll tell you later."

"Can you two not?" Dean fake gags. "I seriously don't need to see this."

Sam rolls his eyes. Sure, Gabriel does most of this to annoy Dean, but it's like Sam doesn't go along with it too. It's not even really that bad. But Dean doesn't like Gabriel. Whatever, Sam considers it payback for the near decade he's spent watching Cas and Dean skirt around each other. It was so painfully obvious the longer it went on, but both had remained completely oblivious.

Sam stands up, "Here, I'll show you two to the guest rooms. We have plenty, so just pick whichever ones you prefer. Gabriel, can you let Jack know about this? I'll talk to him later, but I want to get them settled first."

"Anything for you, Sammy!" The Archangel says cheerfully before disappearing.

"And Dean, call Cas? He should be in the loop too."

"Why are you the one calling the shots?"

Sam raises an eyebrow, "Do you want to handle either of the other jobs."

Dean halts, and Sam laughs. "Go call your boyfriend Dean."

Sam's older brother turns bright red and quickly leaves the room, but he mumbles "Don't call Cas that."

Sam leads the two brothers down the hall. "Ok, mine is here, and Dean's is across. Jack's is two down from mine. Beyond that, every other bedroom is free for you to choose from."

"Thank you. But um... Can I ask who Jack is?" Yuji says.

"He's..." What to call Jack? Gabriel's nephew? A nephilim? No. "He's my son."

Yuji nods, "Ok. C'mon Choso, let's pick our rooms."

Choso frowns, "Are we not sharing?"

The pink-haired teenager looks about ready to face palm, and Sam sympathises. He was a teen with an over-protective big brother once. "No Choso. We can have neighboring ones though."

Choso seems to contemplate this for a moment before agreeing, "Well, alright."

Sam turns to leave them, but then remembers they'll need clothes. "Oh! Bathroom is just down there," Sam points, "And I'll get you guts some spare clothes for now. Yuji, you'll have to borrow from Jack. Pretty sure only his clothes will fit. Choso, I'll lend you some of mine."

"Much appreciated, Sam. Thank you for your hospitality."

Sam chuckles, "Least we can do. You two are the ones stuck in a whole different world."

The younger Winchester left the brothers to their own devices for the time being. He'd planned to go look for Dean, but Gabriel corners him with a kiss.

Sam smiles at the Archangel when they pull away. "What was that for?"

"I wanted to kiss you. Plus, had to get rid of your headache, didn't I?"

"So you can cause me a new one?" He says it half serious, half jokingly.

"Maaayybbbeeee," Gabe grins before becoming slightly more serious. "Gave the kiddo a quick run down. Seemed pretty excited when I said Yuji was a teenager. Think they'll get along?"

Sam hums, "Maybe. Y'know, we probably should ask them how old they are. Yuji doesn't look much older than 16 at most, but Choso looks a bit older."

Gabriel sighs, "Later. I've done enough adulting for now."

Notes:

Yes, Gabriel is a millenias-old adult child. Yes, Gojo is a 28 year old adult child. Yes, this will only lead to chaos.

Next chapter is probably Choso pov
