Chapter 1: Won't you stay for a while?
Chapter Text
The A/C blew cold around Elliot’s car as he moved his hands around on his leather wheel. He took a deep breath, letting the breeze swallow him whole. He was surprisingly hot- considering the temperature. He stopped at a red light and turned on his blinker, keeping his foot on the pedal as he sighed. He threw off his visor and put it in the passengers seat, feeling the sweat on his head finally evaporate as he shook his hair down from its ponytail. His curls sat neatly on his shoulders, before putting his hands back on the wheel and turning the curb as the light turned green.
007n7’s house never was quite far. Only a couple of minutes from his own house, and work. That must be why he bothered him so often. He watched the couples and families walk past the fast cars on the street, side eyeing a certain flower shop.
Before he knew it, he was in line with a bouquet of roses and blue forget-me-nots. He felt bad coming to his house straight from work, knowing he stinks of pizza grease and sweat. Running around the place gave him something to do, at least. The hours are quite worse than he expected from when he first started, but he loved the work deep down.
Elliot had heard that 7n7’s kid had gone missing from the posters around the trees and hell- almost every single lamp post or anywhere he could put them up. Elliot looked around nervously as he stared at the girls brown hair in front of him in line. Who knew flowers shops were so busy..?
Honestly.. He’s been trying to help. He remember when he would beg Elliot for just a single slice of pizza for his son. He went missing not too long after that, Elliot visiting 7n7 just to make sure he was still going after all that grief. He didn’t know why he still tried.. Maybe because he thought he could still help? He loved helping. At least just make him feel better day by day.. Give him a bit of compa-
“That’ll be 20 robux, sir.”
Oh. Yeah.
Elliot shuffled in his pants and pulled out his wallet, handing his robux to the nice lady behind the cash register. He smiled and waved after getting handed his flowers, walking out as the automatic doors opened for him.
He neatly sat the flowers in the passengers seat as he got on the other side of the car, his keys jingling as he revs up his vehicle. He kept thinking as he backed out of the parking lot- he doesn’t even think he fully forgives Seven for burning down his pizza place, obviously. Well.. his dads. I guess they still talk because.. Sea-.. Seven. Doesn’t really have anyone BUT him. His kid was the only that kept him going, and now that's gone.. He doesn’t have a purpose. Elliot groans as he sits at another red light, putting his head in his hands as he shakes his head. God, he’s helpless.
A couple minutes later, Elliot gets out of his car and walks over to 7n7’s garage, punching in his pin code as the garage door opens. He gets back in his car and parks next to Seven’s own car, chuckling to himself as he stares at the dark blue vehicle. The little figures over the dashboard, including a tiny clay figure of 7n7 that C00lkidd made for him. His smile faded as he walked over and grabbed the flowers, closing the garage door behind him.
Elliot can hear the clicks of his clock on the wall as he slips off his sneakers and sets them next to the door next to Seven’s dress shoes, carrying his bouquet of flowers with a small smile. He is about to open his mouth and say something as he turns the corner, but stays quiet as he sees the living rooms light turned off. He switches it on, the ceiling fan turning slowly as Seven’s usual spot with his blanket is empty. It’s like he disappeared.. It’s weird. He must just be napping in his bed, he likes to do that after he eats. Like a big teddy bear in hibernation. Heh.
Elliot walks into the kitchen and sets the bouquet on the dining room table, making a spot for it in the middle of all the junk and papers scattered all over the table. He turns around and sees all the dishes washed, cleaned, and put away. Usually, Seven is too tired to clean up after he eats and does it later. But this time, it looks like.. He scrubbed everything down squeaky clean. Huh. That’s sweet. Now that he mentions it, the whole house looks that way. Usually Elliot is the one that picks it up after shifts. He unbuttons his shirt and throws it over one of the dining room chairs, stretching and sighing as he cracks his back. God, he needs a shower. He walks down the hallway to 7n7’s room, considering it being the master bedroom and all.. The bathrooms in there. He holds his back as he groans, his feet creaking against the floorboards as he reaches for the door.
Elliot hears a loud bang from behind the bedroom door as he jumps back and almost falls to the floor, catching his chest as he pants heavily. What the fuck was that? That.. that sounded like- his shotgun. Elliot scrambles and grabs onto the bedroom door with all of his might, shoving open the door as he leans on it. Elliot’s eyes dilate as they meet with Seven’s lifeless body, brains splattered all over their shared sheets as his old coat wraps around his body. The shotgun makes a loud noise as he falls to the floor, blood dripping from the walls and staining the sheets as the rest of it drips onto the hardwood floor.
“Oh.. OH MY GOD! SEAN, SEAN PLEASE- GOD, NO. FUCK! PLEASE, SEAN, SEAN PLEASE.. PLEASE.. Ohmygodpleasefuckingpinchme HOLY SHIT! NONONONO- NO!”
Elliot screams out, his voice echoing as he ran over and grabs at Sevens body. He looks up to still see that most of 7n7’s face is still intact, just really- really damaged. He might still live. Elliot holds onto Seven’s chest as blood stains his socks and pants, getting all over him as he grabs for his phone. He quickly dials the police, screaming into his phone.
Elliot’s eyes are wide as he watches the sunset, a blanket keeping him warm from the nightly breeze as he watches Seven get carried out on a stretcher. His clothes are stained with red as his tail lays limp less. Elliot shuts his eyes tightly as he feels tears stream down his eyes, crying like a little kid in a blanket as he thinks about what he could’ve done if he just opened that door sooner. If he didn’t stop for those god forsaken flowers, who knows what would’ve happened? Who fucking knows.
Elliot sure didn’t. Seven is most likely gonna die, and there’s nothing he can do.
Yet.
Chapter 2: He's waiting.

Chapter Text
Elliot groans as he cracks his neck, his keys jingling as he silently locks the door behind him. His back ached, carrying around boxes of pizza ingredients all day wasn’t really the ideal. He blinked slowly, opening his eyes to a sleeping hacker covered in thick blankets while some random romcom played on silent. He always liked to read the subtitles to help him fall asleep. Elliot chuckled. He silent took his shoes off as he threw them somewhere, tiptoeing past the couch as he watched him breath. He creaks open the bedroom door, taking his shirt off and throwing it in a pile in the corner.
-
Elliot shakes as he sits on the blood stained bed, covering his mouth with wide eyes. It’s pitch dark out, as the faint smell of 7n7’s cologne follows him like a ghost in a haunted house. He clutches onto one of the stained blankets, grabbing the comforter and bringing it up to his nose. He shakily exhales.
-
He takes off his belt and accessories, putting them in the spot in the bathroom he always knows where to look when getting ready. Elliot changes into a baggy t-shirt and some shorts. Creaking back out of the room, slowly walking towards the couch. As soon as his foot touches a certain board he conveniently just remembered, a loud creak noise fills the room as the ceiling fan just adds onto the shiver.
“..Mmnnnn.. Eli?”
“Yes, it’s me. You need to stop sleeping on this couch, it’s not good for you.”
“I was.. Waiting on you..”
“I know.”
Elliot giggles, groaning a bit as he picks Seven off the couch and into his arms bridal style. 7n7 immediately wraps his arms around Elliot, digging his head into his shoulder. Elliot hesitates to kiss his cheek, but stops himself as he replaces it with a tiny little snuggle. The blankets drag on the floor as he carries him into the bedroom, humming a bit as he opens the door with one hand. He places Seven on his designated side of the bed, getting into the comforter on the other side.
-
Elliot makes a loud sob into the blanket, feeling as if the smell of Seven would just drive him insane. He feels the tears stream down his face and add onto the fluids on the blanket. Elliot pushes it away and sighs shakily into his hands, before side eyeing it and standing up. He rushes out of the room and slides his shoes on, looking at the bouquet for a split second. That blue just aches in his heart. This home feels empty without him, and he can’t bear another second without being in the same vicinity as him. And he doesn’t even love the guy. What is wrong with him? Whatever- this isn’t about him! He ties his sneakers quickly before staring down at his clothes.. Still blood stained. He hasn’t changed.. Just been sitting at the corner of the bed for hours. He walks over and grabs his coat, sliding it on as he opens the garage and gets in his car.
His eyes are wide as he feels the bags under his eyes, still sniffling as he grasps at the wheel. He lets out a loud sob, tears starting to stream down his face as his chest feels tight. His vision get’s a bit blurry as he pulls into the hospital parking lot.
-
Elliot scoots closer towards Seven in the bed, back to back with him as he gets comfortable and closes his eyes. Elliot gets shocked back away as he gasps, feeling Seven shuffle around and wrap his arms around Elliot’s waist. He blushes, digging his face into the pillow as he scoots closer into the spooning. 7n7 makes a noise in his sleep, smiling as he rests his head on Elliot’s shoulder. His tail wags, must be having a nice dream. Elliot giggles, holding 7n7’s hands as he slowly drifts off to sleep again, feeling his warmth.
-
Elliot’s face is stone as he walks up to the receptionist reconginizing her from when he had burns that needed to be treated. He nodded, giving her a small smile as he blinked slowly. He rubs his eyes.
“..Sean. Sebastian. Sean Nolan Sebastian.”
Elliot gulps as her nails clack against the keyboard, looking over at the clock in the waiting room. 2:02am. He sighs. Elliot looks back over at her as she nods and shuffles around in her chair, smiling softly at him which fills him with a bit of comfort.
“I see. He’s in room 727, but we can’t let you in until he wakes up. It seems you’re an emergency contact, so you should be allowed in. You will have to wait, but we’ll let you know as soon as we give him his medicine and let him know you’re waiting. Is that okay?”
“That’s fine.”
His voice cracks, giving her a smile back and a nod as he walks over to the car and sits down. He groans into his hands, staring at the empty seats in the waiting room as the hospital smell fills his room. Emergency contact.. When the hell did he do that? Elliot’s cheeks fill with warmth as he sighs. Oh, Seven. Why would you do this when you know that I was here for you. You could’ve said something, anything. But it’s my fault since I didn’t see the signs. The way you would hold me close in the night, take in my scent every time you could- in which, I would do the same. You held extra tight when we were watching TV, your nails digging a bit into my shirt as your tail wagged. What will I do..? Now that you’re.. Gone. Are you even gone?
It seems like hours had passed by as the waiting room fills with more and more people, watching the sun rise through the windows and the receptionists switch shifts. The nurses and doctors passing by, his ears open for just any kind of sign of Seven to be awake. Is he even okay? ..The nurse said get awake, so that must mean that he’s okay- right? Right. He’s strong. He’s so strong. He can get through this.
-
“Elliot.. I have a question to ask you.”
“..What’s up?”
“Do you.. Like me?”
“Of course I like you. You’re one of my best friends! I’ll always be here for you, man. Always.”
“..I see. Yeah, thanks. You’re my best friend too.”
-
Oh, god.
Elliot groaned, punching himself on the head slightly before getting interrupted to the sound of someone calling his name.
“Elliot Builder?”
He shot up, eyes widening as he nods.
“Yes, that’s me.”
“He’s waiting.”

Chapter Text
Elliot feels his heart sink into his stomach as his body feels heavier than usual walking down the hallway to 7n7’s hospital room. The nurses and doctors walking down the hallways with whispering conversations with the beeps and boops of the machines in each room. Elliot makes eye contact with a familiar gray boy with shades, getting a little wave as they treat to his chest wound. Wonder what happened to him.. watching him wince as a young, yellow boy watches from the corner. The yellow boy is more focused into his phone.. Looking mad for some odd reason. He shakes his head. God.
He continues down the insanely long hallway, stopping at what seems to be Seven’s room. His vision is all blurry and honestly, he’s seeing things from the lack of rest. He peaks into a room, looking confused. His voice cracks.
“..Is this room 727?”
A boy in a big witch hat perks up in his bed, a weird erratic looking person next to his bedside holding his hand. He smiles awkwardly, shaking his head no.
“Ah, no. This is room 712. Down the hall, to the right.”
He points, Elliot sweats and nods his head.
“Sorry. Have a nice day.”
“Thanks!”
They continue their conversation of some sort of religion as he continued walking down the hallway, clenching his coat sleeves. He’s worried of what he’ll see. What if he flatlines right in front of him? What if he’s about to die? What if.. What if he shuns him away? What if he gets out and does it again? How is he even alive? Oh my god.. A year ago he was telling himself of he’d get revenge on this guy for all the pain he’s caused, and look at were he is. Seven has just caught him back in the trap he’s always fallen for, even when he was 17 behind that counter getting made fun of for his braces. He groans, dragging himself as he finally reaches the room. His eyes widen.
- ROOM 727 -
Elliot gulps as he looks into the doorway, his sneakers making a squeak. Elliot watches as Seven’s tail wags off the bed from his blanket, his face covered in bandages with hair sticking out in random places of the bandages. The shot mainly blew off the front of his face, causing them to have to piece him back together like a fucking patchwork doll. Elliot covers his mouth, whispering to himself.
“Oh my god.”
Seven stays quiet as he avoids eye contact, looking away and staring out the window as a bird lands on a tree, caring to it’s young. He frowns under the bandages, his tail stopping.
Elliot pulls up a chair from the corner of the room, staring at 7n7 as he focuses on the bird. He grabs at his hand, Seven flinching, and looking at him with wide eyes before calming down and grasping back like he was going to leave. Elliot put his other hand of theirs intertwined, looking down for words to say as he scoots closer and holds his hand close to his face. He shakes.
“....I.. Seven..”
Seven uses another hand to grab at a notepad and a marker next to his bed, the shot messing up his vocal chords and having some of his mouth all messed up. He lets go of Elliot’s hand and focuses on writing, looking as if he’s about to cry as his tail swings.
You can’t fix me.
He writes, Elliot’s eyes widened.
You never could, never will. I am broken. Noli knew that from the start.
He left because of me. Both of them did.
Seven’s bandages start to get wet.
You should le-
Before Seven can finish writing, Elliot grabs the notepad and throws it across the room, it hitting the wall and causing a loud thump. He walks over and rips all the writing out, tears streaming down his face.
“No. No. I am not- LEAVING. You. And I never will. Either you die or not I am STAYING next to you weither it’s me sitting next to your gravestone or us watching TV on the couch. He will come back. And you will live to see it. You hear me.”
His voice croaks, Seven hearing the hoarseness in his voice as he hands him back the notepad and throws the extra paper in the trash. He breathes heavily, calming himself down as he sat back down in the chair. He huffed, his head in his hands as his thoughts overwhelmed him. God damnit.
Elliot can hear the squeaks of a marker, before feeling a tug at his coat. He quickly looks up to Seven’s face, he’s smiling behind his bandages- he can tell through his eyes. Those big brown eyes of his, tears swelling over his eye lids as he feels his tail wrap around his leg. He looks over at the notepad and laughs a bit.
Ok. I hear you.
Seven opens his arms for a hug and Elliot rushes in to it, crawling onto the bed with Seven. He grabs around his waist, curling up around his warmth and nuzzling into his chest. He finally rests his eyes, tears streaming down his face as Seven wraps his arms around Elliot for a sense of security. Elliot feels himself drifting off to sleep, feeling a kiss on his head. He ignores it and pretends he’s asleep, smiling as he goes unconscious.
-
"Elliot, come on. Get up. It's time for work, Eli."
Elliot opens his eyes slowly to the sound of his alarm clock and Seven's tired eyes laying in front of him. He smiles, turning over and turning the alarm off before continuing to look at Seven.
"I'll get up in a minute.. I'm more focused on your pretty face."
7n7 laughs, his face blushing as he looks at Elliot with a soft smile.
"You still want to take Kid to school today?"
"Yeah, why not. You should rest, I'm used to getting up early."
The ring on Elliot's finger glistens as he tucks 7n7's hair behind his ear, kissing his forehead as he hears the wags of his tail against the sheets. He gets out of the comforter and takes off his bonnet, his curly hair poofing out as he groans. Seven laughs and sits up, playing with it behind him. He wraps his arms around Elliot's neck, humming as he kisses his neck and slowly sways with him.
After a little, Seven let's go and rolls out of bed. He walks to the closet as Elliot goes and takes a shower, putting products his hair and taking about thirty minutes. He wraps a towel around his waist as he dries his hair, walking out to see his work clothes laid out for him and the smell of coffee coming from the kitchen. Elliot smiles and gets dressed, hearing C00lkidd already reek havoc on 7n7 at 7AM. He laughs, walking out of the room and closing it behind him.
C00lkidd waves to Elliot with a smile as milk drips from his mouth, ravaging at a bowl of Fruity Pebbles with marshmallows. Elliot giggles a bit more, walking up behind 7n7 as he breathes in his cologne and wraps his arms around his waist.
"Aren't you touchy this morning?"
"Can't help it."
C00lkidd makes a tiny puking noise as they both giggle, pouring coffee into their colored mugs. Elliot puts a bit of creamer and sugar in his own coffee, while 7n7 drinks it black.
"That's disgusting."
"What? My black coffee? Says you with your vanilla creamer."
"Hey- You don't say anything bad about vanilla."
He jokingly kicks 7n7 in the leg with his foot, laughing together as Elliot goes and sits next to C00lkidd. He takes a sip of his coffee and finally starts to wake up as he checks the time on his phone, leaning on the table as Seven sits across from him.
"You ready for school, bud?"
"Once I refill your saline I'll leave you two alone."
"..What?"
-
Elliot jumps awake, rubbing his eyes open as he looks around. He stares deadpan at the nurse, her jumping back a bit and awkwardly smiling. She laughs, finishing her job and then leaving as Elliot watches her closely. He then lays back down and listens to the sounds of the machines as the sun burns in his eyes. He can feel 7n7 chuckle under him, sighing as he snuggles into his warmth once more.
