Work Text:

It was a sweltering day in Frottica, which meant it was the perfect day to test out the new upgrades on the pool. Glinda loved pool days, and she loved to lounge, but there’d be no time for it because she had a very important duty: watching her darlingest Zorina swim and teaching her dearest Aida how to.

The pool was at her parents’ home. It wasn’t an unpleasant walk by any measure, but Glinda did complain about how they’d have to go so far in the heat with two kids.

“I told you, we should just put a pool in our backyard. It’d be much more convenient,” Glinda had said, but Elphaba didn’t budge.

“There’s no need to have two pools so close together,” she’d said in that terrible way of hers, when she didn’t even look up at Glinda as she rejected the idea.

Granted, Glinda had been unwise in her asking-time. She asked while her wife was pregnant and grouchier than usual. If only she’d waited a few months, maybe they wouldn’t have to walk to her parents’ house to have a pool day.

Glinda slipped into her white coverup and tied it at the waist. She assessed herself in the mirror, humming in satisfaction.

“Elphie will think I’m cute,” she said and then headed downstairs to find her wife.

Elphaba had been up with the sunrise because Zorina thought the sun was her personal alarm. She always let Glinda sleep in while she nursed, got Zorina ready for the day, and dealt with her animals. As a trade-off, Glinda did all the readying for bedtime. She thought Elphie got the better deal because Zorina was much more likely to be grumpy in the evening after a long day of being an almost three-year-old with two unemployed mothers.

Aida didn’t get grumpy, but she didn’t like Elphaba to be out of her sight for too long. Glinda accounted it to the fact that Aida was nursing and that Aida and Elphaba had spent the whole of winter cuddling into the early spring.

Glinda worried that both Elphaba and Aida would have separation anxiety once Elphaba started work in a month (honestly, Glinda and Zorina would probably have separation anxiety, too).

When Glinda made it downstairs, Elphaba was in the kitchen with Aida tied to her back.

Her heart leapt at the sight of Elphaba in a swimsuit. Her wife hadn’t yet gotten her legs back to their usual tone after the pregnancy with Aida rounded them out, but Glinda loved them all soft and thick like that, despite what Elphaba thought.

“Hi baby,” Glinda greeted, filing away Elphaba’s coy half smile in her brain, and then she grinned and bent over just a bit so she’d be in Aida’s line of sight. “Hi, my baby!”

Aida babbled excitedly at Glinda, and before Glinda could plot how to get her baby snuggles, Zorina skidded from around the corner, past Glinda, and knocked into Elphaba’s thighs.

“ZoZo, we walk in the kitchen to keep our bodies safe,” Elphaba said, brushing her hand over Zorina’s face. Zorina started to nod at Elphaba’s instruction, but then saw Glinda watching. She peeled away from Elphaba and shot over to Glinda.

“Momsie, are you ready?” Zorina squealed, effectively drowning out Elphaba’s gentle, “Walk, ZoZo.”

“I’m ready. Are you? Let me see you in your new swimsuit,” Glinda said. She’d taken Zorina on a Momsie-ZoZo trip to town to do all the things Elphaba didn’t want to do, like have clothes made. Zorina very specifically wanted a pink swimsuit covered in butterflies with ruffles on the shoulders, and a tutu, of course. And Glinda had never been good at saying no to any of her girls (the cows on the other side of the hill proved as much).

Zorina held out her arms and spun around.

“Strike a pose, go on, like I showed you!” Glinda encouraged. Both Glinda and Zorina ignored Elphaba’s snort, and Zorina came to a rather wobbly stop. Once she caught her balance, she put her hands on her hips. “Oh, you are dazzling!”

“Mama, look!”

“Elphie, look!”

Elphaba glanced over. “Dazzling,” she agreed. “Zo, go put on your sandals.”

Zorina left the kitchen as quickly as she had entered, and Glinda refocused on her sweet baby.

It was hard to believe she was almost eight months old. It seemed like no time had passed and that Aida had been in her life forever.

Glinda made her way closer to Elphaba, who was packing a cooler of cold food and treats. She should have helped, but she didn’t because she got distracted by Aida’s squishable cheeks. And Glinda hadn’t kissed those squishable cheeks in hours.

She unwrapped her baby from where she sat on Elphaba’s back and disrupted Elphaba’s methodical packing in the process. Elphaba huffed, but Glinda made sure to kiss her wife’s green cheek in a quiet apology before attacking her baby’s green ones.

Aida giggled under Glinda’s kisses.

“You untied her, that means you carry her all the way there,” Elphaba grumbled as she suspended the cooler in the air with magic.

“Mama, are you feeling a little grouchy?” Zorina asked from the doorway, where she was bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation. Glinda held the baby to her chest and bit back a grin at the way Elphaba cut her eyes at her. Elphaba didn’t speak, but Glinda heard her internal grumble, anyway. “I do not know how I ended up raising a little Galinda Upland.”

Glinda winked at her wife and said in response to what she assumed Elphaba said in her brain, “You love me.”

Elphaba rolled her eyes, and when she looked away from Glinda to Zorina, her green eyes softened and she smiled.

“I’m not grouchy, ZoZo. Are you ready to go?”

“Yes Mama! Are Lolly and Pop back from the Em’rald City? Can they have an ice cream sandwich after lunch like me? Mama…” Zorina continued talking, and Elphaba took the moment to send Glinda another dirty look.

“You knew what you were getting into.” Glinda giggled as she went over to the door. “Let’s go,” Glinda said, settling Aida onto her hip. Elphaba took Zorina’s hand, and they left the house to make the short walk to the pool.

Both of Glinda’s children were a beautiful soft green. In the right light, the green disappeared, and they took on the light brown of their long-dead aunt. But under the sun, the green shone beautifully and unmistakably. They both ended up blonde, too, despite Elphaba’s declaration that Zorina’s hair was light brown (“It’s honey blonde, Elphaba Thropp Upland, and you can’t argue because I know about blond hair.”). She didn’t have to argue as much about Aida’s blonde, because somehow the girl had come out with Glinda’s exact shade of blonde, a genetic feat if Glinda did say so herself. Thanks to their lovely green skin and blonde hair (the both of them), the resistance (who had taken over security measures since Glinda’s retirement) called them daffodils.

But whatever anyone called them, there was no doubt in Glinda’s mind that her girls were absolutely perfect. More beautiful, more lovely, and more perfect than even the most stunning flower.

She wanted to spend every clock tick of her day with them and never took it for granted that she could do so.

This was Zorina’s last summer before preschool started, and most nights Glinda had a lot of weepy feelings about that. Glinda literally remembered the day Zorina was born like it was yesterday, and no day could come equal to it save the day Aida was born.

Glinda had never, ever, ever been happier than she’d been since they were born.

She would’ve been fine with just Elphaba, truly, but the girls had brought so much laughter to the house. And neither of them had been touched by life’s cruelty, so their laughter was so, so pure that it always eclipsed the memory of Glinda’s pain.

They brought a lot of joy to her parents’ lives, too. So much so that they both decided to come back to Frottica full time.

And after years of Glinda hinting to her parents that they should upgrade the pool, they finally did. But not for Glinda, no. They did it for Zorina, who told them how much she liked the waterfall at the pool in the “Em’rald City.”

The summer had already started, but Larena found a contractor and somehow (bribery, probably) got herself at the top of the priority list.

In one and a half weeks, the pool that had always just been a plain rectangular thing in Glinda’s lifetime, had been expanded to have not one, but two waterfalls, an elevated shallow area fit for kids, a hot tub, and a sitting area with little misters.

Glinda had always thought her parents would do anything for her. The birth of her daughters showed her how untrue the thought was. But they’d definitely do anything for their granddaughters.

At the pool, Glinda helped Elphaba settle under an umbrella and placed Aida onto Elphaba’s stomach so she could help Zorina into her duck floaty. Zorina could swim, and both of her parents were witches, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

“Darlingest,” Glinda began, rubbing in a white spot of sunscreen under the girl’s ear. “What are the pool rules?”

“Walking feet, ask Mama or Momsie to swim without the floaty, ask before I splash.”

“Mhm. And why do we have these rules?”

“To keep my body safe and your body safe.”

“Good. You can put your feet in the pool. Momsie is coming in one clock tick.” Glinda lifted Aida and smiled.

“Be careful with my baby,” Elphaba said, and Glinda rolled her eyes.

“Baby Aidee, tell Mama we will be just fine.”

She went over to the pool steps and followed Zorina into the pool. The cold water was refreshing on her skin after a walk in the heat. Aida’s fist gripped the strap of Glinda’s yellow top as soon as her little feet hit the water.

“I know, dearest, it’s cold,” she mumbled into the baby’s face. Oh, Glinda just loved babies. She could go for another one, but her stubborn wife was… well, stubborn. “Are you ready, Aidee?” Glinda asked. Aida still wasn’t sure about the situation, if her scrunched nose and curious stare at the water were anything to go by.

It was easy to teach a baby how to swim. Glinda had done so with Zorina a couple of years earlier. Really, all she had to do was let go, and the baby would automatically start kicking and floating. Zorina had taken to it easily, and Glinda expected Aida would be very much the same.

Glinda put her hands under Aida’s armpits, dunked her into the water up to her chest, and dragged her further into the pool. The girl’s little green feet immediately started kicking. Glinda smiled.

“ZoZo, come help with your sister,” Glinda said, scooping some water into her hand to pour over Aida’s face. The baby made a noise of frustration, and Zorina kicked over with the biggest grin on her face. “Will you splash us?” Glinda asked.

“Why?”

“The splashing will help her not be afraid of the water in her face,” Glinda answered as she dumped another handful of water on the top of Aida’s head. Zorina did not have to be asked twice. She started splashing the two with reckless abandon. Aida let out a cry of discomfort and spasmed. Glinda pulled her close and, though her little body was still tense, after a clock tick, Aida laughed.

“She likes it, Momsie!” Zorina squealed.

“Okay, let’s see if she will swim.”

“You can do it, Aidee,” Zorina said. Glinda’s heart almost melted right then. How was this her life?

“Don’t scream, okay, ZoZo? We don’t want to scare her,” Glinda said. She eased Aida about an arm’s length away and let her go. Aida’s green eyes widened in betrayal, but the girl started kicking, and she didn’t sink.

“Good job, Aida!” Zorina cheered in a rather loud whisper, and before long, Aida was back in Glinda’s arms. Zorina swam away from them, and Glinda peeked into Aida’s face. Her eyebrows were furrowed, and her sweet face was set in a firm pout. If she could talk, Glinda expected she’d be complaining about being abandoned in the cold, watery depths of the pool.

“Mama! Aidee was swimming!”

“Is that so?” Elphaba asked, and Glinda turned to face them. Her wife stood at the top of the pool steps, one hand on top of her wide-brimmed hat.

“Yes! Come in so you can see!” Zorina ordered.

Glinda, mildly distracted by Elphaba’s beautiful green legs in the black one-piece, said, “Be careful not to melt in the water, Elphie.” Glinda giggled at the glare Elphaba shot her.

“Very funny,” Elphaba said as she stepped into the pool. Glinda watched her descend into the water and very much wanted to run her hands over the slick green skin. Elphaba lifted her arms, elongating her torso and giving Glinda a delicious view of her swollen breasts. A small voice interrupted her train of thought.

“Mama’s gonna melt?” Zorina asked, entire face scrunched in worry.

“No, I’m not going to melt,” Elphaba answered swiftly.

“Momsie’s silly?”

“Yes. Momsie is the silliest witch there ever was.” Elphaba stopped before she got to where Glinda stood with Aida. “See if she’ll swim to me.”

Glinda turned Aida in the water so she could see her Mama. Then she let go. Elphaba dipped further into the pool so she was eye level with the baby, and Aida showed off her new skill, kicking her way to Elphaba.

“Oh, hello my baby,” Elphaba said when Aida got to her. She lifted her out of the pool and into the air, filling Glinda’s ears with the sound of laughter.

“Momsie, can I take off my floaty now?”

Glinda nodded and helped her oldest out of the floaty. She swam with the girl until they got tired and stopped to eat lunch. Elphaba had set out sandwiches for them under the shade of the umbrella while she lounged with Aida at her breast, having her own lunch after a long fifteen minutes of learning how to swim.

It was just as they were finishing lunch that Glinda’s parents emerged from the house.

“I thought I heard my favorite girls in all of Oz,” Larena said.

“Lolly! Pop!” Zorina practically fell out of her seat to wave. “We’re having lunch!”

“I see that,” Victor grinned. “What are you having?”

“Caprese sandwiches!” Zorina held hers up.

“There’s enough for you two,” Elphaba said, pointing to the cooler.

“Don’t mind if we do.”

With Zorina pleasantly distracted by her grandparents (Glinda loved the girl, but she did require every last smidgen of attention), Glinda allowed her gaze to linger on her wife. Elphaba had just finished feeding Aida and was patting the baby’s back. As soon as Aida burped, Larena was next to Elphaba with greedy hands.

“Oh, can I take my sweet grandbaby?” she asked, and Elphaba smiled.

“Of course,” Elphaba said. “She’s ready for her nap.” On cue, Aida yawned, eliciting the smallest “aw” from Larena.

“Come to Lolly, my sweet granddaughter. You’re so very precious.” Larena held a contented Aida to her chest. “You two, go. We’ll keep them until dinner.”

“Are you sure?” Glinda asked, and Larena nodded emphatically.

“Nothing would make me happier.”

Elphaba reached across the table to swipe a tomato seed from Zorina’s face, and Glinda nodded.

“Okay.” Glinda got Zorina’s attention by pinching her cheek. “Darlingest, Lolly and Pop will watch you until dinner,” Glinda said. Zorina nodded and promptly launched back into conversation with Victor.

Elphaba gave quick feeding instructions to Larena. She’d be ready to eat again in a couple of hours, and would get downright unagreeable if she didn’t, especially if Elphaba wasn’t in her sight. Aida had been grumpy recently on account of her teething, but the baby was more than content in her grandmother’s arms because Larena had given her a wedge of peach to gnaw on.

Zorina didn’t care her mothers were leaving, but Glinda kissed the top of her head and said goodbye, anyway.

Then Glinda took Elphaba’s hand and pulled her away before her parents could change their minds. If they had the afternoon kid-free, Glinda meant to make the most of it.

Elphaba had noticed Glinda leering the entire morning. It didn’t take a genius to know what was on her wife’s mind.

So when they got home, Elphaba went into the downstairs guest room to wait for Glinda to pounce. She shrugged out of her black swimsuit and laid down on her stomach on top of the bed. The cool comforter felt wonderful against her hot skin. Elphaba wanted to take a shower, but knew it’d be better to wait until after Glinda was done with her.

Glinda did not come in right away, and with every passing clock tick, Elphaba grew more and more drowsy. She could hear Glinda moving around in the house, and she tried to stay awake, but fell asleep before her wife came. The sun, the water, and the children had exhausted her. Aida was finally sleeping through the night, but her body still used a lot of energy to feed the girl. Elphaba was running on fumes these days… fumes that smelled an awful lot like Glinda’s gourmand perfume.

“Elphie.” Glinda’s voice tickled her ear, and Elphaba hummed for the woman to keep talking. “Do you know I’ve wanted you all day?”

Elphaba’s clit twitched at the question and the raspy tone. Her answer came out mumbled because she could hardly open her mouth. Sleep was still beckoning her, but so was her lovely wife, who smelled oh so good. “Mmm, yes.”

Glinda’s soft lips pressed against the nape of her neck, and then there was shuffling. Her fingers traced the stretch marks on the back of Elphaba’s thighs and butt. Her hot tongue trailed the length of one stretch mark up Elphaba’s thigh to where it ended midway through her bottom.

“You’re so beautiful, Elphie,” Glinda said, voice still cloudy with rasp. Elphaba sucked in a deep breath when Glinda’s tongue went back to dragging up and down her skin. She kissed the small of Elphaba’s back, sending shivers down her spine. “Turn over, darling.”

Elphaba made a noise of protest, and Glinda grabbed her hip and her shoulder and flipped her from her stomach to her back.

“So beautiful,” Glinda repeated. Elphaba wanted to give a disclaimer or an apology because her thighs and stomach were not as appealing as they used to be, but not only was she still too hazy to form such a complex sentence, but Glinda kissed her. “My beautiful Elphie.”

Glinda placed wet kisses down Elphaba’s neck and chest. Elphaba let out a little gasp at the feeling of her milk releasing into her wife’s mouth. Her wife paid careful attention to each breast and then continued the journey downward.

Glinda kissed Elphaba’s lips once more and then pulled her legs apart. Elphaba prepared herself for whatever contact Glinda was going to give, but the good witch’s lips pressed against the pudge of her post-partum belly.

“Thank you for coming back to me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for letting me love you. Thank you, thank you for having my sweet babies. I love you, my beautiful, beautiful Elphaba.” Each statement was punctuated with a kiss to Elphaba’s stomach, and Elphaba opened her eyes to watch, to make sure she hadn’t fallen asleep and started to dream. Glinda placed one last kiss there and looked up, catching Elphaba’s gaze with a wicked gleam in her eye.

“I love you,” Elphaba mumbled.

“I know.” Glinda had shifted lower, so her answer sent warm air to Elphaba’s center and caused her to close her eyes again, sighing back into the haze of drowsy pleasure and love. “I love you, too. More, probably.” Glinda’s hand pressed down at the bottom of her stomach and then the flat of her tongue ran up Elphaba’s waiting center. “Mm, so wet for me.”

Elphaba was in no position to beg the way Glinda usually liked her to when she took charge, and thankfully, Glinda seemed to understand that, because her tongue got right to work. She licked greedily, and Elphaba made a mental note to tease her about it later. For now, Elphaba focused on her wife’s tongue flicking and lapping at alternating intervals.

“More,” Elphaba managed. Glinda paused, and Elphaba knew her mumbled request was heard when she felt Glinda’s smile on her folds. Glinda hummed in understanding, sending vibrations straight to Elphaba’s clit. The licking resumed, and two fingers sank inside Elphaba. She exhaled, relaxing further into the mattress.

It didn’t take long—Glinda was exceptional—and Elphaba whimpered as she came. Glinda kept her hips still and didn’t stop pumping or relax her tongue until Elphaba was done.

“Good, Elphie?” Glinda asked. Elphaba could picture her big eyes and pleased smirk. Elphaba sighed in response. She could go to sleep right then. She was content. Her wife, however, was not. “One more for me?”

Elphaba blinked open her eyes. She wanted to see her words land on Glinda. “Anything for you.” Her decision to look was rewarded with the sight of a tongue darting over pink lips and eyes growing darker.

Glinda held her hand palm up, and in it appeared the dildo Glinda most liked to use on Elphaba. Elphaba moaned at the sight of it, and Glinda’s eyes flickered to her. The toy was the color of Glinda’s flesh, enchanted to feel lifelike, and it always got Elphaba nice and wet at the thought of the day Glinda surprised her with it.

Glinda did not break eye contact as she licked up the sides of it and put the tip in her mouth. Elphaba’s eyes started to flutter closed again, but Glinda said, “Look at me while I put it in.” Glinda lined the tip of the dildo up and then pushed it in slowly, her finger circling Elphaba’s clit. “Oh, I love you, Elphie. I love to fuck you.”

A half-moan-half-whine left Elphaba’s throat, and her eyes closed again when Glinda started up her rhythm. She kept her finger on Elphaba’s clit, moving both it and the toy at a lazy pace. Almost like she wanted Elphaba to fall asleep, which was becoming more likely with each second that passed. Elphaba was drifting, and only when Glinda said, “Good, baby, you’re so close,” did Elphaba realize she actually was about to have an orgasm. Her stomach was tightening, and she was already clenching around the toy. Glinda’s pace stayed steady. The added tightness alongside Glinda’s hum of praise sent her hips rolling, and she climaxed.

Her toes curled, and she gripped the bedspread, capable of only a soft whimper as spasm after spasm rocked through her.

Glinda sped up the pumping until the orgasm ended and then slowly pulled the toy out.

“You’re so pretty when you come,” Glinda said. Chest heaving, Elphaba opened her eyes and unsurprisingly found Glinda watching her, an almost shy smile balanced on her pretty lips. Glinda moved from between Elphaba’s legs to kneel at her side. She leaned over to lick up the milk that spurted from Elphaba’s breasts during her climax. With that taken care of, she kissed Elphaba deeply. “I love you, Elphie.”

“Your turn,” Elphaba muttered. Though she was drifting, she wanted to please Glinda more than she wanted to sleep. Like she said earlier, she’d do anything for Glinda. Glinda unclipped and then re-clipped her damp blonde hair and shook her head.

“I’m okay today.” Glinda was like that. The good witch always seemed to enjoy getting off, and sometimes even initiated it, but sometimes it seemed that pleasuring Elphaba gave her the most pleasure. But Elphaba loved to love her wife, and she’d been so sweet… and the kids were away. Who knew the next time she’d be able to taste Glinda without worry of an almost three-year-old witch breaking through the locked door with magic (which had happened not once, but twice before)?

“Please, baby?” Elphaba asked. “Let me have you.”

“Okay. Stay like that.” Glinda maneuvered so she was over Elphaba’s face, skirt draped around Elphaba’s head. She rested her knees on either side of Elphaba’s head on the pillow and then lowered her hips. Once again, Elphaba closed her eyes. She didn’t need to see to know what to do.

The smell of Glinda intoxicated her, and Elphaba spent some time at the woman’s clit before tonguing her. She continued until the muscles in Glinda’s thighs relaxed and she settled more of her weight on her. Only when she was properly relaxed, did Elphaba give her wife what she really wanted. As soon as Elphaba returned her focus back to her clit, Glinda’s hips rolled and her hand gripped Elphaba’s hair.

“That’s it, yes, that’s good,” Glinda said. “Just like that.” The praise spurred her on, and she kept sucking and flicking the tip of her tongue over Glinda’s clit, savoring the taste of her. “Oh, Elphie,” Glinda moaned lowly as she came. “Don’t stop, more—oh.”

She didn’t stop until Glinda released the grip on her hair.

Elphaba lapped up the come around her entrance, and Glinda lifted off of her. “I love you,” Elphaba said. Glinda’s lips met hers for a slow kiss.

“Sleep, my darling.”

“Stay, baby?”

“You never have to ask.” Glinda settled behind her, and as soon as her fingers ghosted against the pudge of Elphaba’s stomach, she was asleep.

Glinda had just put the guest room bedding in the wash when the front door opened.

“Sorry we’re a little later than dinner,” Larena said, unstrapping the knocked out Zorina from her stroller. Victor handed a cranky Aida to Elphaba (she’d become a little cranky herself at missing two of the usual nursing times). Elphaba immediately took the baby into the living room where they typically nursed, and Glinda lifted Zorina from the stroller.

“It’s fine,” Glinda assured. Zorina tucked her nose into Glinda’s neck. “Thank you for watching them.”

“Oh, Glinda, it’s our pleasure. It’s why we moved back to Frottica,” Larena said, and held a hand over her heart.

“We’ll bring the cooler back tomorrow,” Victor said. “Have a good night.”

“Good night.” Glinda kissed both of her parents, closed the door behind them, and then took a very sleepy Zorina for the quickest bath to get the sunscreen and pool off of her. She tucked the girl into bed and kissed her forehead.

“Momsie?”

“What is it, Zorina?” Glinda whispered, stroking the girl’s green cheek with her knuckles.

“Lolly and Pop said Mama melted once when a girl threw water on her.”

Glinda sighed. “Yes, but that was for pretend.”

“Did you know it was pretend?”

“I did know it was pretend. Mama can’t actually melt.”

“She can’t?”

“No, ZoZo.”

Zorina let out a tired giggle, and Glinda couldn’t help but let out her own. “Mama’s so silly,” Zorina mumbled.

“The silliest witch there ever was,” Glinda agreed. “I love you, my darlingest girl. Good night.” She kissed Zorina’s head and, before she could even cross the threshold of the door, heard the girl’s light snores.

Glinda’s eyes lit up at the sight of Elphaba leaning against the wall right outside Zorina’s room because in her arms she held a fed and washed baby. Glinda’s happy, fat, yummy baby. Elphaba held Aida out to Glinda like an offering, and Glinda took her greedily.

“You know I wanted three blond children,” Glinda said after taking a whiff of her baby and hurrying down the hall after Elphaba. Aida no longer had the intoxicating new-baby smell, but she smelled like baby powder, milk, and Elphie, which was intoxicating in and of itself.

“I know,” Elphaba said. “But two is enough, I think.”

“But they both have green eyes, and one of my blond children is supposed to have brown eyes.”

Elphaba rolled her eyes and made a noise of faux compassion. “Tough luck, your goodness.”

“But Elphie—”

“If you think you’re going to change my mind, you really are the silliest witch there ever was.” Elphaba sat heavily on the couch and picked up the book she was reading before the kids got back. “I cannot believe Zo was worried about me melting all day because of your little joke.”

Aida balled up her tiny fists and yawned. Glinda’s chest blossomed when big green eyes blinked up at her—Elphie’s big green eyes in her perfect baby’s head. Oh!

“Hi, baby Aidee!” Glinda sang, kissing Aida’s nose. “Elphaba?”

“Hm?”

“I would go through everything all again just to experience today.”

Elphaba snorted before kissing her cheek and opening the book to the bookmarked page. “I wouldn’t,” she said. “But I don’t think I’d trade today for anything else.”
