A Yankee in the Court
A phone call. One stupid call when Gibbs knew he was undercover as a dead body in the control of the FBI on the way to their offices. All because he wanted to rub it in their faces that he had the dead body and they didn’t, while trying to get Tony out of there right away to go do work he should have been doing himself.
Tony’s ears sharpened out of fear, as he heard the leader of the team in the back of the van with him, on the phone with the one called Fornell, and then tell the others to toss the bastard, him, out of the van and onto the freeway, and get going back to base.
All without allowing the van to slow down or allowing him to get out of the black body-bag. Needless to say, his latent status went online the moment he was in the air and then hit the ground at full speed.
This caused the semi behind the van to slam on its own brakes and just miss him, even if he was unconscious at the time due to his head meeting the freeway. His coming online as an Alpha Lion Guide though had every Sentinel in a twenty-mile area heading his way as he had come into his abilities as a matter of hard trauma. And the FBI van left him behind to face the music of causing a minor traffic accident.
The driver of the jack-knifed semi now following him into unconsciousness and the fuel he was carrying close to becoming a fireball.
Over one hundred Sentinel first responders were on the scene within minutes called there by Tony’s trauma induced onlining. And they were getting things under control immediately. Getting the fire departments called out to contain the truck’s fuel from going up, while they took care of Tony and the driver.
Meanwhile Gibbs was getting pissed off as Tony wasn’t answering his phone and was leaving angry messages that ended with if he wasn’t going to do his job he would be fired.
Gibbs’ boss was told where Tony was later and was told the S&G Center was not amused over the messages and to keep the toxic bastard – their words – away from their patient, who was in a coma from being tossed out onto the freeway from a van.
The van was traced to Fornell’s team, who were forced by the President, due to politics in the matter, to answer just why they were trying to murder a fellow agent who was doing as he was ordered by his superior. And he was on duty himself.
No answer back, and the President, himself fired the bunch, including Fornell who had given the order to attempt to murder the agent because he was in competition with his boss.
The bunch was turned over to the Justice Department for trial on the attempted murder of an on-duty agent charge. And put in jail till their trial for their protection as most of the Sentinels in the area wanted their blood under their nails. Gibbs was also charged as a conspirator in the action they committed. And also jailed for his actions.
The terrorist was found by the surrounding Sentinels and their Guides before he could do any harm. And Secret Service Agent Todd charged with breaking the fraternization rules and thus endangering the President.
She was also jailed while the terrorist was flown to GITMO to be questioned along with his conspirators in his actions.
Those charged were all found guilty and sentenced to prison to serve out their sentences. While Tony healed from his own wounds he received for the whole mess. Then he went on to serve as a liaison to the BAU to be with his mate, Hotch, and aid him and the team there in their duty.
