After the tragedy of his parents’ deaths Alfred found it unfit to let the boy grovel on his trauma, to let him relive that frightful night that soon turned all of his nights into sleepless terrors, the young boy had completely withdrawn from his peers and even Alfred himself, it was much too unbearable to let the boy fend for his own demons by himself. As much as the old butler wanted to offer his comfort, he ought to admit he wasn’t qualified for the job as he was for many other aspects.
In a bold decision, Alfred had taken upon himself to move a farm on the countryside, an old terrain Thomas Wayne had under utilized for a few vacations with his wife to get away from the press and to invest on agriculture, a shocking change of scenery would do the young boy some good, or at least the butler had bet on it.
Much to his delight, after some years, young Bruce’s eyes had turned a tad less grim as he spent his days attending to the animals, the amiable relationship he had developed with the youngest of the Kents a few miles away turned for the better.
It wasn’t until later, that Bruce started taking in rejected hybrids into their flourishing farm did the light fully return to his life.
