Chapter Text

I picked up my cell from beside me on the seat of the 2000 Chevy that I had picked out and my own car was at Bobby's with a dead battery to start and I knew that wasn't the end of her troubles. I had a missed call from my sister and called her back. "Hey, yeah I'm still on my way. Stop worrying. I just had to get gas after I picked up a new car from Bobby's. Yeah, she broke down again, you don't have to rub it in. I'm driving a 2000 Chevy that someone abandoned at Bobby's. Tell the boys to look for a baby blue Chevy so they know when I pull up. Find anything new on the creature?"

She answered, "yeah..." I heard shuffling as she moved around papers as she searched for the scrap of paper she had written it on. She launched into a lecture on what she'd found as I listened fondly to little sister who'd grown up so much.

We'd grown up raised as hunters, we had run run into the Winchesters and had fallen for them. I'd fallen for Dean while she'd fallen for Sam. We'd never made a move but stayed close and were the first people they called for backup. I never turned them down but Marie was always better at boundaries. Tuning back into the conversation, I replied, "So, basically they're a den of vamps with weird eating habits that have managed to keep under the radar thus far?"

"If you wanna oversimplify it!" Marie replied, annoyed.

"Yeah, I do." I teased, "I understand what you mean and what all that research is great and all but can you dumb it down for a stupid hunter like me?"

"You're not stupid, I swear!" I could hear her rolling her eyes, "You and Dean are two peas in a pod. Why don't you two get together again?"

"Because I refuse to be the one night stand of a guy. It'd make it awkward especially if that's all I got. I'd rather be his best friend and get to hang around him than lose him forever for sex!"

"Fine," she grumbled, "I don't understand completely but I guess it's the same thing I'm doing with Sam, but still."

"Yeah..." I agreed quietly trailing off into a yawn. "Anyway, I'm pulling up now so I'll see you on a few minutes." I hung up as I parked. I pulled my bag from the back and walked to her motel door and knocked. She opened the door and I walked in. "Game plan?"

"If you're not too tired from driving I thought we could go tonight?" She asked.

I agreed and we prepped out weapons, grabbed food, and took a quick nap before nightfall. After waking up we packed the car, paid for the night and left for the town the boys were in. We met up and I greeted Dean, trying not to blush at how good he looked and mostly succeeding.
