Work Text:

Zelda showed up in front of hers and Link’s house with three people following her. They had told her they were hero’s of the past and while she had so desperately wanted to believe they were Yiga, she couldn’t deny that she felt the hero’s spirits within them.

They apparently got separated from the rest of their group and Zelda knew that if anyone could find someone on this vast land, it would be Link. Honestly, it was scary how easily he could find and avoid people.

So that brings her to now. With the Hero of Hyrule, the Heir of the Four Sword, the Hero of Winds, and herself standing on her front lawn.

“He was just here a few minutes ago. I’m sure he went into town or something.” She assured the others. She was thankful that they didn’t know Link becuase there was no telling if he was in the town or halfway across Hyrule.

I really should take away his slate when I leave him alone.

Suddenly, they all hear a voice coming from the roof.

“Zelda, I’m on my vacation and I just wanna relax.” Link finally appeared peering down at the four. “So tell me why in the Calamity you brought three randos to my doorstep?”

Wind answered before Zelda could.

“We’re hero’s! We have a goddess ap-on-ted- wait no that’s not right.” He scratched the back of his head. “App-oink-tet- nope. That’s even worse.”

“A goddess appointed mission to defeat an evil who is jumping through different points in time and corrupting the monsters and making them stronger and sadly there isn’t really a choice on whether or not you want to come.” Four finished for Wind.

Link made a noise then moved back to a point none of them could see.

“You better be getting off that roof because I am not dealing with this alone.” Zelda said to where Link last was.

“Nice. I’m taller than you guys.” A voice from behind them said. They all turned around to find Link standing there with his hands on his hips.

“Hiiiiiiiiiiiii” He says. “I don’t suppose you three have names?”

“Oh right!” Hyrule exclaims. “That’s Wind, Four, and I’m Hyrule.” He stares at Link for a second before realizing how dumb he probably sounds and blushes.

“They’re nicknames.” Four assures Link “All of us are actually named Link so we go by our hero titles.”

Link blinked. “Ok, makes sense.” He shrugged.

“Wait.” Wind says. “Do you actually believe us or do your think we’re cucco crazy? Becuase if I was in your exact situation right now, I’d think we were crazy.”

“Sailor weren’t you the easiest one to convince?” Hyrule asked.

“NOT THE POINT RULIE.”

Link shrugged again. “I mean… The story you guys said is definitely not something to believe, but Zelda seems to trust you had hasn’t made a comment about your absurd mission or whatnot so there’s that. You all also seemed to be somewhat blessed by Hylia and she keeps telling me to trust you sooooo-“

“Wait what do you mean by she tells you?” Four asked only to get completely ignored.

“Anywho, why don’t we talk a bit more about this inside, hmm?” Link prompted.

He walked between Hyrule and Four, walked past Zelda, and stumbled backwards when she grabbed him by the back of his shirt. He found his footing again, stood up straight, and glared at her. He titled his head as if to ask, “What was that for?” The only response he got was her holding her hand out. When Link didn’t do anything she raised a brow. The three members of the Chain were clueless as to what was happening until Link sighed, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a few seeds, an earring, and a necklace.

Hyrule’s seeds, Four’s earring, and Wind’s necklace.

The three in question each reached their hand to where the items in Links hand just were.

Zelda takes the items from him and puts her hand out to the others so they can take back their belongings.

“I’m so sorry about that. Link has a-” she glared at him, “self control problem.”

He scoffed and crossed his arms. “I was gonna give it back to them.” He looked like a kid who just got caught stealing cookies in the middle of the night.

The three members of the Chain took back their stuff and they truly had no idea how to react. After all, their stuff just got stolen from right under their nose. Link had barely been at arms length from them! How did he even manage to take their stuff? Honestly, it was just impressive.

“I hope I didn’t take anything too valuable.” Link said while rubbing his head. “I tried to take stuff you guys might not mind go missing, but what do I know?”

Wind was the one who spoke up after gathering himself together. “How. In the world. DID YOU DO THAT?” Well, maybe he didn’t fully gather himself together.

“THAT WAS SO COOL!! I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE MY NECKLACE WAS MISSING!! You know, I would have probably panicked a bit if I saw I didn’t have my necklace but I’M TOO MUCH IN AWE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW!!” Wind kept yelling.

Zelda facepalmed. “Please don’t encourage him.” She begged.

“Too late. I’m encouraged.” Link replied.

Teach me your ways.” Wind said.

“Please don’t do that.” Hyrule said at the same time four said “I would also like to be taught.”

Hyrule and Four exchanged a look.

Four shrugged. “Seems like a cool skill to have.”

Link laughed. Other than Riju, he hadn’t met anyone else who wanted to learn how to pickpocket. Zelda only knew when it was occurring but she doesn’t know how to do it. If what they said was true and he has to join them on a quest, if Hylia really doesn’t give him a choice, he supposes he could secretly teach Wind and Four some tricks.

“Let’s just go inside now,” Zelda says, clearly tired from needing to deal with Link’s shenanigans.

“Oh! I’ll make some meaty rice balls if you guys aren’t allergic!” Link offered.

“YOU CAN COOK?!” The three other links shouted.
