bloody lips

Summary:

Avid defffffinitely hates Scott. Also has a lip biting issue. Avid also believes Scott is a vampire. Chaos ensues.

Notes:

Hello! I wrote this in one hour, thought of it in class, and am begging the Ao3 pantheon to not curse me. Have fun reading this ! (warning, I have never kissed someone, and this is based on vibes and an unhealthy amount of reading love stories)

Have a good day/night <3

Work Text:

Avid was always thinking. Theorizing about the world and its secrets, predicting plot lines of the shows he watched and guessing the true murderer of murder mysteries. He also bit his lips a lot. It was in part due to the fact he was always worrying, and it was a bad habit he’d never broken. He didn’t mind the chapped lips when his main concerns came from one person and one person only.

Scott Goldsmith.

He was convinced that he was a vampire. What high school senior has naturally white hair!? And, he dressed straight from the 18th century. He just rubbed Avid the wrong way.

His friends laughed at his speculations, while he just kept gathering evidence. Avid kept a small notebook, writing down Scott’s oddities and his vampire-like traits, from his almost blood red eyes, which he knows are NOT contacts, because he’s examined them thoroughly. His pointed canine teeth, always shown off in his stupid smirk, are perfectly white as well. He was always showing off, classic vampire hubris, and Avid watched every second of it.

“Avid, are we sure you don’t just have a crush on him?” Drift asked and Shelby nodded along saying, “You spend an awful lot of time writing about him, and looking at him, and talking about him, and-“

“No! I am not in love with a vampire like Scott!” Avid spat out those words like poison, hating the idea of being ‘in love’ with Scott Goldsmith.

“Sureeee.” Shelby and Drift both said in sync, then immediately snapped their heads to each other and smiled, in sync as well.

‘Whatever, they can think what they want, but when I prove Scott is a vampire, they won’t be the ones laughing’ Avid thought as he glared at his friends, who laughed.
Avid turned to check the time and perfectly, almost too perfectly, the bell rang, and he went on his mission.

His friend’s disbelief of his suspicion made him need to find closure, so he vowed to prove his point, from the source. And that meant talking to his enemy, rival; Scott Goldsmith.

He knew where Scott’s last class was, because how else would he be able to take conclusive notes? He spotted Scott, and approached him, like a researcher and a wild animal.

“Scott? Can we talk?”

Scott turned around, and his devilish eyes scanned him for his intent, but he kept a cool face, even though he was bursting with nerves at Scott's gaze.

“Sure. Come with me to my car, it’s in the back lot, we can talk there, okay Avid?” Scott purred his name, and it made him shiver (definitely with fear).

They walked out, and Scott grabbed his hand, and Avid was unable to wrench himself away without giving himself up, so he stayed and let his hand be held. Maybe also gave a hateful squeeze.

He worried his lips between his teeth, and they arrived at Scott’s car.
“ So, Avid, what did you want to talk about?”

Avid got scared. He felt his stomach turn. “W-well, I wanted to tell you I know what you are!”

Scott laughed quietly and asked “What? What am I?”

“You, You’re a vampire!”

“What?” Scott gave him a confused look, then got a new and different look in his bloody eyes, “I mean, I know I’m so beautiful, one could mistake it, but, why?”

“ Well your hair is bone white, and your eyes are unnaturally red, and I know they are not contacts, because I’ve examined them thoroughly, and your canines are unbelievably pointy. And you dress so accurately to the 18th century I think they might as well be from the 18th century!!” Avid lost his breath, and stared at Scott waiting for a response.

Scott tilted his head, like a bat, and he just kept staring. Avid was getting nervous.

Avid bit his lips again, drawing blood. He could taste it.

'Oh no.'

'Scott can see I’m bleeding.'

That evil confusing look flashed in Scott’s eyes again, and he looked at Avid’s lips, his bloody lips.

Oh gods Oh gods this is not okay.

He didn’t know why he was frozen, fear or otherwise, but he was locked into place. Vulnerable to the devil in front of him.

“ Well, if I am a vampire, I see a beautiful snack right in front of me.”

Scott leaned down.

Avid closed his eyes.

He tasted his own blood as Scott attacked him with a kiss, but oh gods were Drift and Shelby right.

He did absolutely like Scott Goldsmith. Kissing him felt like all of the world shifted into place, that all his theories were right and everything else didn’t matter. Their lips slotted together, one chapped and bloodstained and another perfectly smooth and supple. Avid gasped against Scott’s lips and opened his eyes to look at the…vampire?
Scott licked the remaining blood from his lips, moved off of him slightly, just to look into his eyes and tell him this.

“ Am I a vampire now?”

Avid went to respond, but Scott took advantage to kiss him deeper, turning him against the car and leaning him on it, while Scott licked at Avid’s lips, and Avid let him kiss him further.

Avid was silent and surprised, and also dampening any noises because they were still at school, but Scott was trying his best to make Avid forget that.

They separated, and Avid peeped out something small, “ Uhm! Well, wearedatingnowbecauseisaidsoseeyoutowmorrowbye”

Avid ran off into the front of the building to his car, where Shelby and Drift were waiting, and awaited the shame of telling them what happened in the back.

Scott just muttered to himself.

‘Great guess, Avid, great guess.’
