Dan's been streaming for about 2 years now, and has kept a small yet loyal fan base. He's always been proud of the tiny community he's made, and as confident as he seems, he really wants to keep a good image…
…Which is why this charity stream has been quite nerve-wracking.
He's really excited about how much money they've raised so far, but he was also regretting the reward he set for hitting the $10000 goal: buying and using cat ear headphones for the next 3 streams. He mainly set the reward as a joke, but now only $60 remained before the goal was reached.
“C'mon… Why is this boss so hard…” Dan mumbled, becoming increasingly angry at the game he was playing. A friend dared him to try a super-hard ROM hack of Kill to Shoot, and he was now getting his ass kicked by one of the bosses. “Please ju– OH COME THE FUCK ON!” He slams his fist against his desk, a way he's learned to vent out his anger that also keeps viewers entertained. Not the best coping mechanism, but it works. “Oh my godddd… This game is absolute ass. Why did I agree to this???” He shoves his face into his hands, groaning loudly. He was about to get up and kick his bookshelf again, when suddenly…

“...Oh my god. Oh my god OH MY GOD OH FUCK WE HIT THE GOAL?!”
Dan couldn't believe it. They actually raised enough money. This was amazing. He didn't actually expect this to happen. He really raised enough for the goal.

The goal. To wear. Cat ear headphones. For three streams.

Dan has been spending the last 2 hours showing his web browser on stream, the only tab open being Amazon. The entire chat has been debating on what cat ear headphones to buy. Dan has been eyeing a red and black set, but the chat can't agree on whether they should get that one… or a sparkly pink one.
“Ok, you know what? Fuck it, I'm making a poll. You decide, Dan Nation.”
The poll opens and almost immediately, the result is clear. Everyone wants the glittery pink ones.
“Chat. Chat please. Do not do this to me.”
Of course, Twitch chats answer to no one.
The poll ends with 21 people voting for the pink ones and 6 people wanting the red and black ones.
“...Ok ok, I'll buy the pink ones. I think this is a good place to call it, yeah? Goodnight Dan Nation, I'll see you next week!”
Dan mutes his mic, turns on his outro card, presses his face into his hands… and screams as loud as he can without alerting his mom. He hasn't even bought the headphones and he's already regretting it.
He hesitantly places it in his cart and immediately goes to checkout. A few minutes later the order is placed.

Dan is sitting in his room, holding the pink cat ear headphones. He had to sneak it in, mainly because he didn't want his mom asking any questions. He's honestly… a little scared to put them on. Mainly because his reputation is about to take a major hit.
With a loud sigh, he plugs them into the computer, slips them on, and immediately notices the audio quality. It's… actually better than his normal headphones, which is shocking. They're also really comfortable. Hm.
He logs into Twitch and starts up the intro screen, preparing to go live. As he rehearses the intro he always says at the start of his stream, he catches a glimpse of himself in the OBS camera. He looks very dorky with the headphones, and they stand out even more against his usually dark color palette. That's… That's fine, right? That's what he wanted!
As the stream finally starts, Dan is immediately flooded with laughing emojis and people spamming ‘CAT EARS’ in the chat.
It's official. He'll never live this down.
