Alex yanks Henry behind a cluster of pipes. Stun fire cracks against metal, sending sparks spraying. “We’re pinned,” Alex mutters. “Of course we’re pinned.”
He fishes a small metal disc from his pocket and presses it into Henry’s hand. “See that control panel by the far door?” he says. “Stick this on it and it’ll blow the lock and fry their comms for a few seconds.”
“I can do it,” Henry says, even though fear is roaring.
“I know you can,” Alex replies. “I’ll keep them busy. When the door goes, run.”
