Seriously, if you ask Bucky what the hell seriously happened, he wouldn’t know how to answer you.
He was an asset for the past 70 years, then got his mind back and went into hiding, then got dragged back when somebody framed him in Vienna, recovered in Wakanda to destroy his trigger words, then brought to war with THANOS army, got dusted and then got back. Then his so-called friend “I’m with you till the end of the line” left him for a girl that he knew that already moved on and left him alone in a world he doesn't really know too well, seriously what was he thinking? Leaving his old best friend that doesn’t have much familiarity in that world. Then got pardoned but with conditions to attend therapies which Bucky didn’t understand why but anyways did it, ignored Sam which he kinda regrets now… Then worked together with Sam with a crisis and then they became best friends and then they kissed
La la la what a happy ending
But anyways, everything went to crap 💩. Valentina decided to fuck up with the world with starting human experimentation with an man innocent that didn’t meant to cause the world into a chaos. He then captured some assassins to expose Valentina but then it is revealed Valentina is using a boy named Bob and suddenly his mind tells him “Hey, what if we side with the assassins and expose Valentina at the end?” And then got their asses kicked by that demon, great just great Bucky. Then they try to rescue everybody from New York but suddenly the void swallows them, they kinda use the magic of friendship to defeat it and help Bob and before they could FUCKING FINALLY EXPOSE VALENTINA, SHE HAD ALREADY A CONFERENCE AND NAMED THEM THE NEW AVENGERS
SERIOUSLY HE'S NOT PAID ENOUGH!
Then got into an argument with Sam and stopped talking, Sam thought that it was just a small thing BUT NOT, BUCKY THOUGHT IT WAS THE END. So he has been going through missions with the ‘New Avengers’ and he hates the name for god sake SINCE SAMUEL WILSON DECIDED TO FILE OUT A LAWSUIT ABOUT THE NAME, but he cannot complain since Sam has been for ages trying to form the Avengers but hey? He had a lot of months to do it and also the only reason he had a team was because of Valentina bullshit
If he had to choose, whose he liked the most, it would be Bob. Even being the Sentry, Hes so kind and sweet to others, even now John treats him good than he thought. He is an Angel 😇.
Ignoring when he tried to take over New York of course…
Bucky has been stressed with most stuff regarding the lawsuit and the new avengers, and god… Don’t ask him how many times he hates that fricking name, and he doesn’t know which name is worse: New Avengers or Thunderbolts?
Bucky was just occupied staring into the window, bored as hell, I mean, the only person you had, is filing you a lawsuit and what are you gonna do? Cry on your room floor how painful it is for you? Well he kinda did, but then it wasn’t going to get him anywhere
Alexei was just chatting about one of his stories to Ava who was just flipping one of her knifes but half listening, John was cooking the food and Bob was reading a book meanwhile and Yelena… Wait, where is Yelena? Probably just playing with her Guinea Pig. She showed the others that new pig she got while in a mission with Valentina intel and practically become the ‘New Avengers’ pet.
“Barnes, what is on your mind?”
Bucky jumps out of his thoughts at the unexpected voice he expected, he expected it to be Bob or maybe John who suddenly decided to befriend him to a truce. They had beef with each other but anyways the past is the past and there’s not changing it
Bucky turns over to look at her “Just thinking when can we expose Valentina instead of becoming of these” Bucky just responds as Yelena just hums as confirmation and comes beside him to stare at the window
“Yeah, it feels weird to be named ‘New Avengers’ Meanwhile your ex-husband is filing a lawsuit” Yelena says as Bucky rolls his eyes at ‘Ex husband’. The team has been calling Sam that and has been trying to avoid Sam to cause less problems with him than before…
“Yeah, I don’t blame him, he wanted to form the Avengers. But of course Valentina bullshit happened” Bucky says crossing his arms looking at the window
Yelena looks him in the eye “But that doesn’t seem to be the only thing to bother you” Yelena states looking over at him as Bucky remains silent “Hit a nerve did I?”
Bucky swallows, confirming Yelena as he tries to find the word “I just…” Bucky begans saying but then remains in silence as he sighs turning over and stopping staring at the window

The words from his mouth leaves Yelena staring at him, not shocked but surprised he really did confess it. She at first thought that he wouldn't and would just walk away. “How much?” It’s only what Yelena mouth comes out
Bucky’s breath itches trying to regain his breath “I… Steve Grant Rogers, Captain America, he was my best friend during the 40s, somebody I truly loved, before and after the serum. Then we never saw each other when everybody thought I was dead, but then I got brainwashed by Hydra and turned into their weapon for 70 years, that’s how long I had been active. Then during a fight with him, he…” Bucky tries to control himself from crying in front of her but he just manages a sob from his throat. “He gave up fighting me after everybody was safe, he told me my name truly was…”
“Your name is James Buchanan Barnes”
“SHUT UP!”
“I didn’t wanted to believe him, I didn’t knew my real mind, between the handlers or a long old friend, I punched him, beat him up, to get him dead and finish him
“You’re my mission!”
Bucky kept punching Steve who remained unmoving
“Then finish it. Because im with you until the end of the line”
He knew I was trying to kill him but he deeper knew I would come back to my senses and then remember him, he still loved me despite for whaf I done in the past 70 years, he knew I killed people, god, like million of people. And when Tony was trying to kill me, he still tried to defend me and keep me away from the fight. And then he looked at me like I was something worth to be saved from”
How can you look at me and pretend I’m somebody else?

That’s how mine and Steve's story ended” Bucky finishes off ignoring the gazes while looking away and when he looks, he looks at Yelena petrified about what he just said like she needs time to process all that. There’s silence and nobody dares to speak.
Until-
“Captain America did what…”
Bucky turns his neck at the sound of the voice and found everybody staring at him like they heard everything they said. Everybody was quiet until John spoke
“Did.. he really did that?” John asks quietly
There’s no answer on Bucky and before they could press on more, they see the news
“- A mysterious person in green cloth appearing in New York scaring away civilians-“
That’s it
Everybody starts moving outside to see what on earth it’s happening and seeing many civilians running away
“Alexei, Ava, evacuate the civilians now! Alexei, Yelena, come with me. Bob, stay over the comms” Bucky orders everybody as everybody nods, starting moving as they are seen fighting some rare abomination that Bucky doesn't really waste time to fight them, they could figure out later what the hell is that. Bucky shot at the abominations while lunging at them with a knife stabbing them as they disintegrate, as he watches Yelena and John moving alongside him while fighting the other monsters as he takes a look around the city.
-“Ucky, watch out!”
Bucky wiped his head at the sound and saw an abomination attacking him lunging at him but is stopped by an shield that he recognized well
“Sam?” Bucky whispers to himself but is interrupted by somebody in the comm
“Wow, not a thanks, you’re so welcome, Barnes” Sam voice quickly sounds at Bucky comms making him rolls his eyes at the voice of Sam
“Nice of you showing up around, thought you wouldn’t come” Bucky says as he continues fighting the other abominations
“Yeah… me and Torres saw the news” Sam says as there is an uncomfortable silence as Bucky keeps running off to find more abominations and suddenly without realizing, he suddenly is in the roof of the tower of the Avengers as he saws the figure
“James Buchanan Barnes, pleasure to meet you” The man in clothes says looking at Bucky as Bucky maintains his serious posture “I’m Dr. Doom, here to take over the rifts of universes, please give in, no need to fight” The man revealed as Dr. Doom lifts off his hood revealing himself as Bucky widens his eyes recognizing him as Tony Stark, the man that died after everybody came back.
“… Tony?”
Dr. Doom shakes his head “Not him anymore, I’m just somebody trying to end all the universes and starting with this main one”
Bucky adjusts his posture “Are you crazy?! This is fricking madness!” Bucky yells at Dr. Doom and behind him, Yelena shows up and sees the man
“There’s no need to fight back. You won’t need to…”
Yelena and Bucky look at each other before Dr. Doom lunches at them and they dodge but he uses magic to fight them as they try to fight him but Dr. Doom leaves Yelena unconscious on the floor as he grabs Bucky by the throat trying to take away some energy from him to regenerate destruction but Bucky moves fast and throws himself and him to the ground, as they both fought.
But then before he knew…
“BUCKY! WATCH OUT!” Sam voice fills in his ears but Bucky doesn’t have time process before he is dragged to an portal rift lifting him there as Dr. Doom disappears and before the team and Sam and Torres can do anything the rift disappears alongside with Bucky
Sam starts walking, scratches in his face “Bucky? Bucky! Where are you?” Sam asks as the team look at each other fearing the worst

2013: A year after the battle of New York:
Bucky feels his conscience finally lifting as he takes a look around him, as he stands up finally but instead is met with an arrow over his head as he lifts his head and looks it’s Clint as He's confused, Clint already retired
“Clint?” Bucky asks making Clint furrows his eyebrows
“How do you know me?” Clint asks Bucky as Bucky winces at the pain over his headache as Clint pulls away the arrow and bow trying to help him “Hey, hey, easy ok? Are you alright?” Clint asks trying to help Bucky but Bucky vision is becoming blurry
“-Clint, report, what’s happening?” A voice sounds he recognizes as Steve as Bucky flinches hearing his voice, the last time he saw him was when he left back in time
“I found somebody who looks like Sergeant Barnes” Clint voice sounds as the comms are in silence
“Are you sure you aren’t drunk, Clint?” Natasha voice sounds
“No! He looks exactly like him!” Clint defends himself as Bucky vision is getting blurry
Another silence
“Barton, keep him there please, wait for us” Steve voice speaks again and before Bucky knows, he already passed out of the stress
