Vaggie never felt safe in Heaven. It seems almost paradoxical, but every move she made was watched by Adam or Lute, and the punishment for breaking their rules was steep.
Now here she was, in bed with the Devil's daughter, betraying everything she was taught against. Yet she had never felt safer than she was now with Charlie's arms wrapped around her.
Vaggie planted a kiss on Charlie's lips. "Love you babe."
"Hm?" Charlie was half-asleep. "Oh yeah, I love you too," she said through a yawn.
Those words meant more to Vaggie than anything paradise had to offer her.
