“Riko-chaaan!~ Come on, come on! It’s so pretty outside!” Chika jogged in place, grinning brightly as she waited outside her neighbor’s door.
Riko stepped out, bundled up in a cute pink jacket. “I’m here, no need to shout! ...Wow. The snow really spread fast didn’t it?”
“It sure did! Isn’t it beautiful? Ooh, what should we do first? We could make a snowman, or make snow angels, or… Oh my gosh! Look, Riko! A snowflake!” Chika beamed with joy, sticking her tongue out and letting the snowflake fall on it.
Riko chuckled. “You’re so cute, Chika.”
“Ai ahm?” Chika blushed, looking over to Riko while still sticking her tongue out.
“Yes, you are. Now come on! Let’s enjoy ourselves on this lovely winter evening!” Riko smiled, holding her girlfriend’s hand and walking over to an even snowier area.
Chika excitedly crouched down, rolling a big pile of snow. “Come on, let’s do this! We’re going to build the ULTIMATE SNOWMAN! The snowidol!”
“S-Snowidol?” Riko blinked, not entirely sure what that entailed, but very willing to help make it a reality. She didn’t quite have Chika’s strength, opting to roll a much smaller pile of snow.
“This is so much fun! I wish it snowed every day!” Chika giggled, rolling the snow until it was a sphere of white. “Then we could do this stuff together every day!”
Riko chuckled. “I think it’s fine that it only gets snowy late into the year. It makes it more special, right?”
Chika gasped. “Waiiit, you’re right. It makes it more romantic too!” she turned and pounced onto Riko.
“H-Hey! Chikaaa!” Riko blushed, feeling the giggly girl snuggle into her arms. “Hehe, you’ve got to warn me before doing that! Now look at me, I’m all covered in snow!”
“You’re my snow angel!” Chika smiled, hugging her partner. “Keep me warm, snow angel!”
“How exactly am I going to do that? I’m covered in snow, Chika!” Riko laughed.
Chika pondered for a moment. “You could keep me warm with a kiss?”
“...Nice try, but my lips are freezing cold.” Riko sighed, blushing a bit at the suggestion. “But you can have one anyways. As a treat.” she gently cupped Chika’s chilly cheeks and gave her a soft kiss on the lips.
“Mmm… Hehe, I never get tired of that! You always taste like strawberries!” Chika cheered, rolling off Riko and toppling into the snow, laying down next to the love of her life.
Riko blushed, covering her cheeks with snow. “B-Brrrr… Y-You, s-shouldn’t say things like t-that!”
“Riko-chan, what the heck are you doing? Let’s wipe that off!” Chika giggled, gently rubbing the snow off Riko’s face.
“...I just didn’t want you to see how blushy my cheeks are. I didn’t account for how cold it would be! Brrr..!” Riko shivered, flailing her arms in the snow.
Chika laughed. “But your blushy cheeks are so cute! ...Wait, what the heck are you doing now?”
“Why do you keep asking that? I’m making a snow angel, of course.” Riko closed her eyes, continuing to aimlessly flail her arms in the snow.
“Pffft! You’re too silly, Riko-chan! You’re supposed to give it your all, and you can’t only move your arms! Angels have legs, right? ...Well, maybe not all of them do. But most do! Here, watch how a pro does it!” Chika cracked her knuckles before rapidly waving her arms and legs in the snow, with gusto!
“Ah..! Let me do my best!” Riko watched Chika and tried to copy her, the two girls giggling as they played in the snow, making the perfect snow angels!
“Hah! A perfect angel, all according to plan!” Chika grinned, staring down at the angelic pattern left in the snow.
Riko snickered. “Pfft. Hehe!”
“Heyyy, what’s so funny, Riko-chan? I think it turned out awesome!” Chika pouted.
“No, no, it’s not that! It’s just… You’re covered in snow! Hehe, you got so into it that you didn’t notice! It’s all over you, you’re like a yeti or something!” Riko laughed, brushing some snow off her girlfriend while Chika did the same for her.
“I didn’t even notice! Thank goodness I have my own angel looking out for me, right?” Chika winked.
Riko gasped, blushing brightly at the remark. “That you do, hehe… Well now, shall we finish our snowidols? I’m freezing! We need to go inside and have some hot cocoa.”
“Aww, already? I wanted to spend all night out here with you! I guess that’s okay though, as long as there’s mistletoe!” Chika smiled, returning to the giant ball of snow she had formed, and continuing to roll it.
“Snowy weather sure puts you in an affectionate mood, doesn’t it? Hehe. That’s okay though, I think it works out nicely for both of us.” Riko smiled, putting a finger to her lips.
The couple continued to chat while rolling their snowballs, until finally…
“Okay! I think we’re good! Three perfect snowballs to create the ultimate snowidol!” Chika hummed, lifting Riko’s snowballs up and stacking them onto the massive one she had rolled. “Ta-dah!~ What do you think? I think we did a great job! All that’s left is to decorate her!”
“I agree! But… Hmm, what makes a snowidol different from a snowman?” Riko asked curiously, staring at the rather ordinary snowman.
“Wait for it! Let’s just finish the usual snowman stuff first!” Chika smiled, pulling a bag of buttons out of her pocket and applying it to the snowman to give it eyes, a mouth, and buttons. Riko applied the carrot nose, a cute little pink hat, and a soft pink scarf!
“She’s really coming along! All she needs now is arms, right?” Riko asked, looking for sticks nearby.
Chika wagged her finger. “Ah-ah-ah! This is where the idol part comes in!” she grinned, applying two toy microphones where the snowman’s arms should be, then crouching down behind it so Riko couldn’t see her.
“Um… Chika?” Riko stared at the snowman curiously.
“Hand in hand!~ Whoa oh whoa!~ I’m a snowidollll!~ Whoa oh whoa!~” Chika sang from behind the snowman.
“Pffft.” Riko tried to hold back her laughter, amused at the snowidol’s performance. “Hahaha! Oh Chika, your creativity never ceases to amaze me! You’re so silly..!”
Chika smiled, walking around the snowman. “Me? That was all the snowidol, duh! Now come on, let’s go cuddle next to the fireplace!”
Riko had no time to react as her girlfriend lifted her up, carrying her bridal style in her strong arms.
“Oh, you! Hehe. I’m so glad we got to spend today together… This was a lot of fun!” Riko smiled earnestly, giving Chika a smooch on the cheek.
“I feel the same! This was a blast! I hope we can keep having fun together forever!” Chika blushed brightly, meaning every word she said.
“I do too. I love you, Chika.” Riko rested her head against Chika’s warm shoulder.
“I love you more, Riko-chan!” Chika giggled, nuzzling her girlfriend affectionately.
Luckily for them, the snow wouldn’t clear any time soon, so they had at least a week of fun in the snow on the agenda! Numazu would be full of snowidols by the time they’re done!~
