Summary
Ashengrotto was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatsoever about that. The miserly Leona knew this for a fact, he was the only one at his funeral, after all.
So why is it that, twenty years after his colleague’s passing, Azul returned to Leona on Christmas Eve, covered in chains and uttering a warning?
“You will be visited by three ghosts, Kingscholar.”
The ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Yet-To-Be, three ghosts who may help Leona from ending up like his colleague. Who may help him learn to carry Christmas in his heart, relearn the love he once had and that which he can share with the world throughout the year.
Provided, of course, he learns the lessons they wish to teach him.
