As Ash Ketchum stepped off the last step to get off the plane, he and Pikachu stood there, looking out the large windows in the airport at the snow dusted streets of Lumiose City. When he was journeying in Kalos and even when he came back a couple weeks ago, he never actually got to see Lumiose City in the wintertime and especially not around Christmas but he had heard the stories from Clemont and Bonnie of how beautiful it was and since Ash and Pikachu had no idea what to do, they decided that they should visit Clemont and Bonnie for the holidays but as a surprise visit.
“And, Pikachu, who knows, maybe we’ll get to see Serena as well,” Ash said to his companion.
“Pika!” the Electric Mouse Pokemon cried in response. Ash just nodded and continued on his way. I might go and see Professor Sycamore first and say hi to him, he thought as he started towards the exit of the airport.
Though he was only able to get a few steps in when he heard someone behind him ask, “Ash? Is that you?” He turned around and was surprised to see that the source of the voice was actually Serena, making his expression instantly brighten at seeing his friend.
“Serena!” he exclaimed with a smile. “It’s so good to see you! I just came here to visit for Christmas but I wasn’t expecting to see you here!”
“I honestly wasn’t expecting to see you here either,” Serena said in a friendly tone before asking, “I’m here to visit Clemont and Bonnie for Christmas so are you here for that as well?”
“Yeah, I was, but I was going to surprise them with my visit. What about you?” Ash replied.
“Oh, I was going to do that too! So now we can do it together!” the girl said in response with a smile.
The 10-year old boy nodded before saying, “Sure! Though me and Pikachu were going to go say hi to Professor Sycamore first. Do you want to join us?”
“Sure, I would love too!” she said.
“Then let’s go!” Ash exclaimed, starting towards the airport exit with Serena close behind.
After the two of them said hi to Professor Sycamore, who was pleased to see them again, they immediately started heading towards the center of Lumiose City, Prism Tower, which also served as the Lumiose City Gym whose Gym Leader was actually Clemont. When they entered the Tower, they were immediately greeted by only Clembot which secretly relieved them both.
“Hey, Clembot, can you tell Clemont and Bonnie that we want to see them. But don’t tell them that it’s us, we want it to be a surprise,” Serena explained to the robot.
After a few seconds, Clembot nodded before saying, “Very well. I will go inform them that you want to see them so please, follow me.” It then walked off, its metal boots clinking against the floor as both Ash and Serena followed it, looking at each other with equally excited and happy expressions.
Clemont was sitting in his workshop room, working on an invention while Bonnie was elsewhere in the room, playing with Dedenne and Chespin. He then heard the door to the workshop open and he didn’t look up to see who it was as he recognized Clembot’s footsteps but he asked, “Yes, Clembot?”
“There are some people here to see you and Bonnie, sir,” his robot replied, making Clemont confused and finally looking up at it with a confused expression along with standing up. I wasn’t expecting any visitors today and I never got notified of anyone coming earlier so I wonder who it could be, he thought, preparing himself and slightly subconsciously grabbing one of his Pokemon’s Pokeballs in one of the pockets of his jumpsuit. After the Kalos Crisis, he could never be too sure of who would come to his Gym even though it’s been quite some time since then.
But once he saw the two people that were close behind Clembot, he and Bonnie instantly relaxed as their expressions lit up with joy as Ash said, “Hey, Clemont! Bonnie!” Bonnie made a happy squeal noise and immediately went to tackle Ash and Serena into a hug that was followed by happy squeaking from Dedenne who happily greeted Pikachu.
“It’s good to see you two again! And I don’t think I ever got the time to say this Ash, but congratulations on beating Leon!” Clemont said with a smile. “But anyways, what brings you two here for this unexpected visit? Not that you’re unwelcome here, we’ll always welcome you both with open arms but I’m just curious.”
“Well, the answer is simple, Clemont. We both wanted to spend Christmas with you!” Serena explained with a smile.
Bonnie tilted her head to the side and asked, “But… don’t you guys want to spend Christmas with your families?”
“We would rather spend Christmas with you two because you’re both like family to us, so in my opinion, it doesn’t really matter!” Serena said.
“Well, then if that’s the case,” the Gym Leader replied, “Then you're welcome to do so! Our dad is away on a trip so he wouldn’t be able to spend Christmas with us anyway so the company is greatly appreciated!”
“Yay!” Bonnie exclaimed, doing a happy little twirl before she grabbed Clemont’s arm and said, “Alright big brother, this means that you can’t be spending all day working on inventions!” He tried to protest as he returned Chespin to his Pokeball but she just dragged him out of the room with a determined expression while Ash and Serena followed, both of them lightly laughing.
As Serena and Ash followed after Bonnie dragging Clemont away, Serena couldn’t help but think, I’ve just now realised how much I’ve missed those two. Even though May and Max are siblings I don’t think they or anyone else could possibly be as close as Clemont and Bonnie are.
Bonnie had ended up dragging Clemont to a room in Prism Tower that Serena had never been in before so she didn’t recognize it. When they were there, the 8 year old girl finally let go of her older brother as she said, “Alright, guys! Ash and Serena, you two happened to come on the day where me, Clemont, and Clemont’s Pokemon help decorate Prism Tower, both inside and outside. Emolga normally sets up most of the lights outside but Ash, if you brought all of the Pokemon you had when we were travelling together, then Emolga can have some help from Talonflame, Hawlucha, and Noivern.”
Clemont nodded and said, “We better start now if we want to finish at least the exterior of Prism Tower. Trust me when I say that the view of Lumiose City from Prism Tower around this time of year is marvelous.”
“I can believe it,” Serena said with a smile. Meanwhile, Ash sent out his Talonflame, Hawlucha, and Noivern and began explaining to them what they were needed for while Clemont brought out his Emolga and together, all of them entered the room which turned out to be a storage room for decorations. Serena wasn’t surprised that Clemont knew exactly what section of the storage room the decorations were in.
“Alright,” the Gym Leader said once they appeared to arrive at the right section. He then pointed to one of the smaller sections of this section and said, “The only exterior decorations for Prism Tower are some lights but as you can imagine with how tall it is, we need lots of lights. But don’t worry, we’ll just be bringing the boxes of lights outside and Emolga can show your Pokemon Ash on how to do it.”
“That way, while they do that, we can decorate the inside with the help of the rest of your guys' Pokemon!” Bonnie finished excitedly and Clemont nodded. But since there were quite a few boxes and they wanted to do this as quickly as they could, Clemont sent out his Luxray and Diggersby which Serena was a bit surprised to see that Bunnelby had evolved. Together, all of them were able to bring the boxes of lights outside the Tower in only one trip.
“Now, let’s get to decorating inside!” Bonnie exclaimed as Emolga began explaining and showing Talonflame, Hawlucha, and Noivern how to decorate Prism Tower properly and the rest of them went back inside.
If you had asked her how excited she was to decorate with Serena and Ash, then Bonnie would tell you honestly that she was super excited. After all, she’s never got to do this before! It had just been her, her brother, and their Pokemon decorating but now things will probably be able to go a lot faster with Ash and Serena and their Pokemon!
“Alright, now let’s get to decorating the interior,” Clemont said and Bonnie, Ash, and Serena all cheered and the Pokemon did as well. Since Luxray and Diggersby were already out, Bonnie’s older brother also sent out Heliolisk, Chespin, and Magneton. Since all of Ash’s Kalos Pokemon that stayed with him were decorating the exterior, Pikachu was the only one out. Serena sent out Sylveon, Pancham, and Delphox and both Bonnie and Clemont commented on how her Braixen had evolved. Dedenne just squeaked happily from Bonnie’s bag as he poked his head out with a smile.
The Pokemon decorating outside had finished up before they were all done on the inside so Emolga, Talonflame, Hawlucha, and Noivern all came back to help them on the inside and Clembot had started helping them at some point as well.
But it wasn’t before long where everything was decorated with the Christmas tree being in the living room of the living quarters of the Tower.
“Yay! We’ve finished decorating!” Bonnie cheered, jumping around. “Now we gotta go get presents for everyone! And sweaters! And pajamas! And stocking stuffer gifts! And-!”
“Alright, we get it Bonnie,” Clemont laughed affectionately. “How about we do one thing at a time? How does getting the pajamas first sound?”
The 8 year old girl thought about this for a few moments before saying, “Okay! We can do that! But let’s go, let’s go!” She and Dedenne then began herding them towards the exit of Prism Tower.
“Wait, we need to get our coats first Bonnie!” Serena argued, making the young girl and the Antenna Pokemon pause before reluctantly agreeing as Clemont told her that they need their coats so they don’t catch a cold but Bonnie just grumbled in response as she went to go get her coat and gloves with the others following her.
Bonnie was glad that they all were quick to put on their coats as she really wanted to start their shopping already. I can’t wait to pick out a pair of pajamas for Clemont! Clemont’s going to be getting me my pajamas and Ash and Serena are going to be getting pajamas for each other, Bonnie thought and then she suddenly got an idea.
“Wait, guys, I got an idea!” she exclaimed, making the other three stop walking and turn to look at her curiously. “How about we get matching pajamas! And they should all be based on a Pokemon! Like for example, mine could be a Dedenne or Ash’s could be a Pikachu!”
“Yeah, I like that idea!” Serena replied with a smile.
“Me too! What about you Clemont? C’mon, you can’t say no to your little sister when me and Serena have agreed with her!” Ash said, looking expectantly at the blonde 15 year old. Bonnie gave her older brother Lillipup eyes, making him give in and let out a sigh.
“Fine. I guess we can do this,” he said, though Bonnie was able to catch a glimpse of a smile on his lips and in his eyes as they made their way to one of the shopping districts in Lumiose.
Bonnie and Serena went to one part of one of the shops while Clemont and Ash went to another but both sections had the same things they were looking for. Soon enough though, the younger girl spotted the pajamas she was looking for and ran towards it with Serena calling out behind her but she didn’t really listen. When she got to where the pajamas she spotted were, she instantly started searching for a pair in Clemont’s size, barely able to contain her excitement. Here it is! She thought, instantly grabbing the pair of pajamas that were the correct size for her brother.
“Sorry, Serena!” she called, running back over to the older girl. “I just found the perfect pajamas for my big brother and I wanted to see if there were any in his size and there were so I got a pair!”
Serena smiled at her and said, “That’s great Bonnie! Though please try and not run off like that again. I don’t want Clemont to scold you for it.” Bonnie just shrugged and said that she promises as she doesn’t really like worrying her brother either.
“But I’ve gotten the pajamas for Ash so let’s go purchase these and hopefully the boys will get done with their shopping soon as well,” the 10 year old girl said and the younger girl just nodded as they walked over to the register and Serena purchased the two pairs of pajamas before hiding them in two separate bags to keep them hidden from the two boys.
Who knew that trying to find a pair of pajamas that I know Bonnie would like would be so hard? Clemont thought, as searched for a pair of pajamas that Bonnie would absolutely love. He let out a sigh and rubbed his face with both of his hands in slight frustration. The others had decided that he would be the one to find a pair of pajamas for his little sister and he had agreed but he didn’t realize how hard it would be to find pajamas for her.
He was sort of brought out of his thoughts when he heard Ash say, “Hey Clemont! Do you think Serena would like these pajamas?” The blonde walked over to where Ash was and took a look at the pair and upon recognizing the Pokemon, he smiled slightly.
“Yeah, I think she would like this one. And if I remember correctly, this is what her size is,” he said, grabbing the pair of pajamas that he was talking about and holding it out to Ash.
“Oh, thanks!” the raven-haired boy said. He then looked at Clemont, his expression becoming a little more serious as he asked, “Have you found any pair of pajamas for Bonnie yet?” The Gym Leader simply shook his head, avoiding eye contact with Ash slightly.
“Well, then let me help you look! You know Bonnie the best out of the two of us so just trust your instincts on what she would like!” the younger boy encouraged, slinging an arm over Clemont’s shoulders, surprising him slightly. He was a little surprised at the offer but after a few seconds, his surprised expression changed into a small smile and he nodded but didn’t say anything.
With this newfound confidence thanks to Ash, he began searching again and to his delight, he did end up finding what he hopes to be the perfect pair of pajamas for his younger sister and was quickly able to find the right size. “Alright, now let’s go purchase these quickly because I imagine that Bonnie and Serena have already finished,” Clemont pointed out and Ash nodded and Clemont offered to buy the two pairs of pajamas.
Just as he suspected, Serena and Bonnie were waiting for them near the entrance to the store but not them having gone outside as Clemont guessed that they didn’t want to wait for them in the cold.
“Sorry we took so long,” Ash apologized as they approached the two girls.
“It’s alright. We really weren’t expecting you to be done before us or meet up with us quickly after we were done,” Serena replied and Bonnie nodded and gave Clemont a smile, making his mood better than it already was.
“Now what are going to get next?” Ash asked, eagerly.
“Oh, oh! I know!” Bonnie exclaimed. “How about we go find some sweaters! I think they should be in a shop near here!” She then immediately ran off with Ash and Serena following close behind while the Gym Leader just let out a fond laugh with a fond shake of his head before running off after them as well, calling out to them for them to slow down.
Since the sweaters didn’t need to be surprises like the pajamas were, they were able to buy the sweaters that they found and liked with Clemont offering to buy all of them since he was the one with the most money out of all of them because of his Gym Leader position. Serena tried to insist that she could pay for them but in the end, Clemont was able to convince her to let him pay for the sweaters.
“Once we get back to Prism Tower we should put them on!” Ash suggested and Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena agreed with him. They decided that the next day they were going to buy other stuff like wrapping paper, presents, materials for presents, stocking stuffer gifts, and materials for stocking stuffer gifts. As they all walked back to the center of the city, the blonde 15 year old’s mind began to drift and he thought, If trying to find a pair of pajamas for Bonnie was difficult, I can’t imagine how hard it’s going to be to find presents for her. I could always build something for her but I gotta know first of what exactly she would like.
It didn’t take long for them to arrive at the entrance to Prism Tower to which all four of them promptly entered and temporarily split up from each other so they could go put on their sweaters. Clemont’s was a light blue turtleneck sweater that had lightning bolt patterns and a Heliolisk detail on the front that Bonnie had pointed him to in the store without Ash or Serena noticing. He had taken off his familiar jumpsuit and changed into a pair of gray and white sweat pants and, of course, his sweater.
“I’m not surprised that Bonnie was able to find this sweater for me. Only she knows that I like turtleneck sweaters,” he whispered to himself with a small smile as he adjusted his glasses once he got the sweater on. He had also placed the pair of pajamas somewhere that he knew Bonnie wouldn’t be able to discover it before he left the room and went to the living room of the living quarters and sat on the couch. He was a bit surprised that he was the first one so while he waited for the others, he grabbed a nearby book and began reading it.
It wasn’t long before he started hearing three other pairs of footsteps so he instinctively turned his head towards them and saw Bonnie, Serena, and Ash all wearing their respective sweaters.
Ash laughed a little and said, “How am I not surprised that you were done before the rest of us Clemont?” He just smiled and shrugged, setting the book down and standing up from the couch as Bonnie skipped over to him and gave him a quick hug, thanking him for the sweater.
“Well, you’re very welcome little sis!” he replied with a smile. “And I love my sweater!”
“Speaking of which, Clemont. I never knew that you liked turtlenecks,” Serena stated.
The Gym Leader let out a small, slightly awkward laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck, vaguely aware of Bonnie still clinging onto his arm a little, as he said, “Yeah, I do but… before now only Bonnie knew that. But now I guess you two know as well. But I’m fine with that.”
“Yep! Now what are we gonna do big brother?” Bonnie asked, tugging on his arm, making him stumble a little. He thought for a minute but when he glanced outside and saw the sun beginning to set he got an idea and said.
“Well, the sun’s almost down, so that means the people of Lumiose will be gathering around the Tower soon,” Clemont explained to Ash and Serena. “It’s sort of a big celebration when I light the Christmas lights on Prism Tower so there’s lots of people who gather around Centrico Plaza to see me light the lights. And it is always the Gym Leader who lights it up so it’s been my job for about… 5 years.”
“Wow, I didn’t know you’ve been a Gym Leader for 5 years. So you became one when you were 10?” Serena asked as he and Bonnie led the way out of the living room.
“Mmhm. But I’m gonna need to get a few more things done with the lights before I can turn them on but I’ll get it done with as soon as the sun fully sets. This is about the same time this day that I do this every year so don’t worry about me not getting it done in time,” the older blonde explained as they walked, subconsciously aware of Bonnie swinging his arm back and forth but not commenting on it because he was perfectly fine with it.
Serena was honestly finding it really interesting to see what Clemont and Bonnie’s traditions were on the days leading up to Christmas. And I’m so excited to see all the lights get lit up once the sun sets! It’s going to be so pretty! She thought as she talked with Bonnie and Ash while Clemont finished up with the last things he had to do with the lights. Bonnie said it was something to do with connecting the lights to one of the sets of normal lights of Prism Tower, Serena remembered.
Though, like Clemont had said, it didn’t take long for him to finish it up and he stood up and said, “Alright, that should do it. And it’s about time for me to light the tower up so we should go get ready.”
“Yeah!” Bonnie said excitedly. “I know me and Clemont have said this multiple times but you don’t want to miss seeing this. It’s a once in a lifetime experience to see it for the first time! After all, you can only experience things for the first time once!”
“I wouldn’t miss seeing it for the world. Especially with you guys!” Ash responded, pumping his fist a little and a shout of agreement from Pikachu causing Clemont to smile a little with a small laugh as they went to go get their coats on again.
They all got outside and saw that it had even begun to snow a little, making the lights of the city even brighter. The only building in Lumiose City that wasn’t lit up was Prism Tower but was going to be soon. Wow, Clemont wasn’t kidding when he was talking about there being a huge crowd of people. It really does seem like everyone in Lumiose is here, Serena thought, looking at the slowly growing crowd in Centrico Plaza.
“I’m so excited!” Serena whispered to Ash as they followed Clemont and Bonnie to where the switch was to light up the Tower from the outside.
The 10-year old boy nodded in agreement as he said, “Me too! I honestly think this is going to be the best Christmas season ever!” The girl nodded as well as she couldn’t help but agree with him.
“Alright we’re at the switch,” Clemont announced, pausing at a barely visible panel in the side of Prism Tower and flipped it open and looked around the Plaza, checked his watch, waited a few seconds while looking at it before looking up again and grabbing the switch. The two siblings then started to count down which was immediately followed by Ash and Serena doing so and not long after that voices joined in from the people around Prism Tower.
“3! 2! 1!” everyone exclaimed and after they hit 1, Clemont immediately pulled the switch down and the entirety of Prism Tower started to light up and like the two Lumiose siblings have been saying this entire time, Serena can agree with them that seeing the main lights of Prism Tower light up right before the Christmas lights did was absolutely beautiful. Both Ash and Serena were frozen and completely speechless because of the awe at how beautiful Prism Tower was, and Serena thought, They weren’t kidding. And with the snow falling and the Christmas lights, I think Prism Tower looks even more beautiful and impressive than it already was.
She was startled out of her thoughts though when a voice said, “Me and Bonnie told you so.” The honey-blonde girl turned her head to look at Clemont who had moved away from the now closed panel covering for the switch to also admire the Tower. He looked back at Prism Tower and said, “Even though I’ve seen Prism Tower look like this for my whole life, I still could stand admiring it all night.”
“But you know we can’t big brother!” Bonnie exclaimed, “Because if we stay out too long in the cold, we’ll catch a cold!”
“And I think that’s my line,” Bonnie’s older brother laughed. “But she’s not wrong. We still have plenty of nights ahead of us to admire Prism Tower like this. But we gotta finish up our shopping tomorrow and I think we’ll want to get it done as soon as possible. Especially since the last things we need to get are stuff for presents and stocking stuffer gifts. I also have a small thing I ordered earlier today that’s going to be done tomorrow but I’m not telling you what it is so you’ll have to wait.”
“Well, I’m sure whatever it is, is amazing!” Ash replied as they all began to go back inside Prism Tower. I’m so excited to see what tomorrow has in store for us, Serena thought as the four of them got ready for bed.
Serena woke up the next morning with a stretch and yawn before she moved the blankets off of herself and got out of bed before leaving the room that she was staying in and walking into the kitchen. She was partially expecting to see Clemont maybe working on breakfast but he wasn't there but she knows him well enough that he has to already be awake because he almost always wakes up before all of them so she guesses that he must be out.
“I guess that means that I could start working on breakfast in his place,” the performer says to herself, immediately going to look for the ingredients to make pancakes. Luckily, there was everything she needed to make pancakes so she immediately gets to work on them. I just hope Clemont won’t mind but I doubt he’ll be upset that I’m using the kitchen, she thinks. It was only a few seconds after she started making the pancake batter when she decided to let her Delphox out of her Pokeball and once she did she asked the Fox Pokemon if she wanted to help and the Fire/Psychic type happily agreed and so the two got to work.
When she finished mixing the batter and began pouring some of it in the pan that she had heated up on the stove, she heard the door to the living quarters open before closing again and looked over to see that it was Clemont who had a large bag with him that had something inside it.
“Oh hey, Clemont,” she greeted, making the inventor look over at her. “Where were you?”
“Remember how last night I mentioned that I ordered something yesterday?” he asked and after Serena nodded he continued by saying, “I went to go pick it up and it’s what’s in this bag here. And since I assume that Ash and Bonnie aren’t up yet, then I’ll show you guys what it is after they get up and we eat breakfast.” He then set the bag down and walked over to her in the kitchen and said, “Is there anything you need help with or are you and Delphox alright?”
“No, we’re good but thanks for asking. I hope you don’t mind that I’m using your kitchen,” she replied.
Clemont shook his head before responding with, “Oh, I don’t mind at all so don’t worry about it! But I think I’ll go and wake up Bonnie and Ash now.” She just gave a small nod as she focused back on the pancakes as he left the kitchen, once again leaving the 10 year old girl and Delphox alone in the kitchen as she flipped the pancakes currently on the pan.
Ash opened his eyes and looked around the room before remembering that he was in one of the guest bedrooms in the living quarters of Prism Tower and he sat up with a stretch before getting out of the bed he had been sleeping in to which he was followed by Pikachu.
As he walked into the hallway he noticed Clemont walking to Bonnie’s room so he called out to the blonde saying, “Good morning Clemont!”
The Gym Leader turned towards him and smiled a little while saying, “Good morning Ash. I hope you had a good night’s sleep. Serena’s in the kitchen making pancakes if you want any.”
“Oh, you bet I want some of those pancakes!” Ash exclaimed with a grin while Pikachu sounded just as enthusiastic.
“Well, go get some then. I’ll be there in a second but I need to wake up Bonnie first. Also don’t look in the bag that’s on the couch, I’ll show you guys what’s in it after we all eat breakfast,” Clemont explained and the raven-haired trainer nodded before heading towards the kitchen with Pikachu on his shoulder.
When he reached the kitchen, he saw Serena flipping pancakes along with some pancakes on a plate and when he spotted them and sniffed the air, he said, “Wow, those pancakes look and smell really good. Could I take a few Serena?”
“Hmm, I guess. But remember that me, Clemont, and Bonnie still have to eat so don’t eat a lot. I mean, there’s still plenty of pancake batter but I just want all of us to have plenty to eat. And I’ll also have to ask Clemont where the Pokemon food is,” Serena replied, looking at him briefly before focusing back on the pancakes on the stove.
“I won’t,” Ash promised as Serena told him where the plates were located so he walked over to where it was and grabbed a plate before putting a couple of the already made pancakes onto it.
“Where’s the syrup?” he asked after he set his plate down on the table.
Serena bit her lip and said, “I… don’t know. Clemont said he did have syrup but he forgot to tell me where it was before he went to wake up Bonnie so you’ll have to wait for him to come back from getting her up.” Ash let out a disappointed sigh as he sat down in the chair that was in front of the part of the table where he had set his plate of pancakes down.
But luckily, he didn’t have to wait long because he heard two sets of footsteps coming down the hallway and right as Clemont appeared first in the doorway of the dining room he immediately asked, “Clemont, do you know where the syrup is?”
The blonde 15 year old was a bit startled by the sudden question but after a second he said, “Oh, yeah. The syrup’s in the cupboard over there.” He pointed to the cupboard that he was talking about and Ash immediately ran towards it, eager to be able to put it on his pancakes, before sitting down at the table again and putting the syrup on his pancakes before promptly beginning to practically inhale his pancakes.
“Ash, slow down! You’re gonna choke!” Serena scolded with a worried tone but he hardly heard her along with the sigh she let out when she saw him not listen to her. He vaguely heard Serena ask Clemont where the Pokemon food was before the Lumiose Gym Leader told her where it was but he was too focused on scarfing down his pancakes.
Once he finished, he set down his fork and said, “Wow, those were amazing! Thanks Serena!” Ash was then finally able to realize that Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena had began eating their own plates of pancakes. I guess I was so focused on my own pancakes that I didn’t notice them begin to eat, the 10 year old boy thought.
“You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked them!” the performer replied with a soft smile.
“But because you were in such a rush to eat your pancakes Ash,” Bonnie responded, “You’re gonna have to wait for us to finish to see what’s in the bag that’s on the couch.”
“Aw man!” Ash said, making the other three laugh a little.
Luckily for Ash, it didn’t take nearly as long as he thought for his friends to finish their food and once they washed their plates, and cleaned up the rest of breakfast, much to the complaint of a certain raven-haired trainer, they all went over to the living room.
As Clemont walked over to the bag and picked it up, Bonnie exclaimed, “Yay! Now we get to see what’s in the bag! Big brother, hurry up!”
“Be patient Bonnie, I’m getting there,” the older blonde said with a laugh. “But since you’re all dying to know what’s in the bag then I guess it’s time for me to show you.” He then opened the bag with Ash, Serena, and Bonnie all watching in anticipation. What they didn’t expect to be in the bag though were four rolls of wrapping paper, each with a different pattern.
“Because I wanted us all to have different wrapping papers, I had custom ordered these for all of us. Each one is specific to each one of us. For example this one,” he picked up the one that was a pastel pink and cream color with a snowflake and ribbon design, “we can use for our presents to Serena.”
“Aw, it’s so cute!” Serena complimented. Clemont then told them that the red and dark blue one with a PokeBall and lightning bolt design was for Ash, the light blue one with a yellow gear, lightbulb, and lightning bolt design was for him, and the pastel yellow with a star and heart design was for Bonnie.
“I really like mine!” Bonnie said. “But since we ate breakfast and you showed us our wrapping papers can we please go shopping for Christmas presents now?”
Clemont laughed before saying, “Alright, we can go do that Bonnie. But first, all of you guys need to go change because I’m the only one who is ready for the day.” The little girl let out a cheer of excitement and Dedenne let out a similar one as she ran off with the Antenna Pokemon atop her head. Serena, Ash, and Clemont looked at each other with amusement in their eyes before the two 10 year olds stood up and went to go get changed as well.
Bonnie had practically thrown on her clothes and since her brother was wearing his sweater, she decided to wear her own sweater as well. I hope Ash and Serena wear their sweaters as well, the 8 year old girl thinks as she sprints out of her room. She almost collides head on with her brother when she reaches the living room, causing both of them to let out little exclamations of surprise.
“Bonnie, slow down! The stores aren’t going anywhere!” Clemont told her with a smile.
“I know! But I still wanna go and get you all presents as soon as possible!” the younger blonde replied with a smile so bright that it practically lit up the entire room.
“Well, we still gotta wait for Ash and Serena to finish getting dressed out of their pajamas as well,” the teenager explained, making the girl make a pouty face causing him to laugh a little.
Soon enough though, Ash and Serena emerged from the hallway with the bedrooms and so they put on their cold weather gear before they left Prism Tower. As soon as they left and Bonnie saw the fresh snow covering the ground, she and Dedenne immediately let out matching squeals and jumped into a snow pile, laughing.
“I thought you wanted to go Christmas present shopping Bonnie,” Clemont stated.
Bonnie sat up from where she was in the snow and said, “I do! But I also wanna play in the snow!”
“Well, we can always do that after we’re done shopping,” Serena explained. Bonnie reluctantly got up from the snow to continue following her friends and brother to one of the many shopping districts in Lumiose where they’ll hopefully find the things they want to give to each other.
Once they reached one of the shopping districts, Clemont said, “Alright, we should all split up so we can buy presents for each other without any of us knowing what each thing is.”
“Sounds good to me!” Ash exclaimed before running off. Serena just giggled before running off as well, leaving the two blonde Lumiose siblings alone.
The older one of the two turned to look at the younger sibling and he said, “Alright, Bonnie, I’m trusting you not to get lost but you know Lumiose well enough that that shouldn’t happen to you. But here’s some Pokedollars for you. It should be plenty for you to get us stocking stuffers and presents.” He smiled and pulled her into a quick hug after giving her the money before pulling back and ruffling her hair and saying, “Good luck! I know you can find great presents for all of us!”
She put a fist on her chest in determination after she took the money as she said, “I won’t let you down big brother!” Her brother smiled again before standing up and leaving himself. Bonnie took a deep breath before heading towards a store herself with Dedenne on her shoulder.
The store she found herself in was a jewelry store and she knew that she immediately wanted to get Serena something here. Maybe I can see if they have any charm bracelets and charms! I think Serena would really like that, the young girl thinks, running off to the part of the store where she assumes would have charm bracelets.
To her luck, they did have a sector with charm bracelets and even charms for the bracelets. She chose a rose gold bracelet and picked out a dress charm, a bow charm, a red sunglasses charm (that kinda looked like Pancham’s sunglasses), a Fennekin charm, a Pancham charm, and a double sided Sylveon Charm with Eevee on one side and Sylveon on the other.
“Do you think Serena would like all of these?” Bonnie asked, showing the bracelet and charms to Dedenne and the small electric mouse squeaked happily and she took that as a sign that her friend also thought the older girl of the four friends would like it. With the bracelet and charms in hand, she walked over to the register and placed them on the desk and the cashier took them.
As he was scanning the items, he seemed to recognize her and asked, “Hey, aren’t you the Lumiose Gym Leader’s younger sister?”
“Mmhm, I am. Why?” she replied, tilting her head to the side curiously. She wasn’t really that surprised that someone recognized her because especially after the Kalos Crisis, a lot more people throughout Lumiose City and the Kalos region were able to recognize all the Gym Leaders and some of their family members a lot more but it was really only Bonnie the one they recognized the most. Well, I did free Squishy, Bonnie thought.
“Oh it’s nothing. I just wasn’t expecting to see you here,” the cashier said before giving her a number of money for the things she wanted to get Serena and she gave him the money before grabbing the bracelet and charms and placing them in her yellow bag.
“Well, I’m just getting presents for my brother and our friends. But thank you and goodbye!” she said, leaving the store with a friendly wave and the cashier waved back with a smile as the 8 year old girl skipped off to the next store. She then realized that she had seen one more thing in the store that she wanted to get Serena along with a charm she wanted to get for Ash so she ran back in.
“Alright, I’ve gotten the materials for Ash and Serena’s presents and gifts to put in their stockings but now I just need to get things for Bonnie. But what can I get her? I want to get her something different than what I’ve given her the past few years but I have no idea what. I know she would like anything but still…” Clemont said to himself, wandering around the shopping district.
My area of expertise is inventions and Electric type Pokemon, not trying to think of unique gifts that don’t involve either of those for my little sister, he thought. As he aimlessly walked through the streets, the inventor suddenly got an idea and he murmured to himself, “Would she like it…? Well, only one way to find out.” He then started walking towards the store that he knew would hold both of the things he’s thinking of, hoping desperately that his little sister would enjoy the two presents he’s thinking of when she opens them on Christmas.
Once he was done getting his two things, he arrived as the first one at the meeting place they agreed to which was at the edge of the closest park to the shopping district. He lightly laughed to himself as he shook his head and thought, How am I not surprised I’m here before them?
Though he didn’t have to wait long because he heard a voice behind him shout, “Hey, Clemont!” The Lumiose Gym Leader turned around to see Ash running towards him with Serena and Bonnie not far behind, all of them carrying bags. He waved to all of them as they approached but the air was knocked out of him slightly when Bonnie sort of tackled him with a hug though it didn’t last very long as she quickly pulled away from it.
“Now can we play in the snow?” Bonnie asked eagerly with begging eyes up at him.
He glanced a little nervously at the other two but seeing them nod in agreement, he let out a sigh and said, “Alright, sure. Why not?” His little sister then cheered and immediately grabbed the wrist of the hand that wasn’t carrying his bags and dragged him over to a bench that was covered so there wasn’t any snow on it and had them all set down their bags after she set down her own bag.
As Bonnie ran off towards the rest of the park he called after her, “We’re not going to be able to play for long though! Because some of us might need to go back to Prism Tower to work on our presents!” The young blonde girl just waved at him to show that she heard what he had said before going back to playing in the snow. He let out a slightly worried sigh.
“Aw don’t worry about her so much Clemont! You know she’ll be willing to leave when we have to!” Ash reassured him with a smile.
“Yeah! And you should come play with us too, at least for a little bit!” Serena agreed.
“...If you say so,” Clemont said after hesitating for a few seconds. His two friends then ran off towards where Bonnie was and after another few moments of watching them, a slight smile having appeared on his face, he went to go join them.
The four of them got to play in the snow for quite a while with it first having started out as the four of them having done their own thing but then things had quickly escalated into a snowball fight and Clemont had no idea how it started but he surprisingly had a lot of fun playing with his friends and sister in the snow. It was worth it to be freezing afterwards, he thought as they all walked back to Prism Tower, them all smiling wide despite them all shivering.
“That was fun!” Bonnie explained with a grin as she clung to his arm with her free hand that wasn’t holding her bags.
“Yeah, it really was!” Serena said and after Ash nodded in agreement, the 10 year old girl turned to the blonde 15 year old and asked, “What about you Clemont? You certainly looked like you were having fun.”
The Gym Leader laughed a little and he said, “Alright, I’ll admit it. I was having a lot of fun. A lot more than I thought I was going to have.” Just as he said this, they arrived at Prism Tower and they all went inside.
As they went up in the elevator, Serena spoke up, saying, “When we get to the living quarters, I can make some hot chocolate if you would like.” The other three of them nodded with Ash saying that that sounded great with Pikachu letting out an enthusiastic squeal causing all of them to begin laughing a little.
It didn’t take them long to reach the living quarters and as soon as they did, they all took off their coats, boots, and gloves and let them dry from the snow over the heater. Serena went to go set her bags down in her room before making the hot chocolate while the rest of them also set their bags down in their rooms before making their way back to the living room. Clemont sat down on the couch, relishing the warmth of Prism Tower. Bonnie soon came and jumped onto the couch cushion next to him and he was about to tell her not to jump on the couch but when she curled up, pressed against his side the words disappeared and he just smiled slightly as he pretended to subconsciously put his arm around her and brought her a little closer to him.
After Ash had come back into the room and sat down on a different chair than the one the two Lumiose siblings were sitting on, Serena came into the room as well, holding a tray of four hot chocolates with marshmallows. Bonnie and Ash eagerly took theirs while Clemont calmly took his which led to Serena setting down the tray and taking her own mug before the four of them drank their hot chocolate in comfortable silence.
Soon, though, they all finished their hot chocolates and after they cleaned out the mugs, Serena said, “Alright, how about we all go work on our presents now and wrap the ones that we can? Because I still need to work on some things for some of your guy’s gifts.”
“Yeah, me too honestly,” Ash said and Clemont and Bonnie nodded in agreement. Hmm, but I need to print some things out but my printer is elsewhere inside Prism Tower so I’ll have to go there and get the things I need printed, Clemont thought, beginning to get up with Bonnie not far behind him.
As they all walked to their rooms he whispered to Bonnie, “You remember how I taught you how to wrap presents?”
“Mmhm! I remember exactly how you taught me!” his younger sister replied.
“Good, but I’ll still be here in case you need my help,” he told her and she nodded before skipping off into her room. He smiled, watching her go, before entering his own bedroom. He decided to print the things he needed to print first as that would be the easiest so he grabbed the item he had that had all the things he needed to print and left to go to the room that had the printer.
It didn’t take him long to print the things he needed and once he got back to his room he got to work on all his presents for his sister and friends. The things he was planning on building for Ash and Serena were quite easy and he was confident that he’ll get enough time to draw out the building process to assure that they would not explode because Clemont really doesn’t want that to happen. But as he got to work and slowly saw each thing come together, he couldn’t wait to see his friend’s and sister’s expressions when they open their presents.
Serena felt satisfied with herself once she finished working on the more easy presents for her friends but now she needed to make the stocking stuffers for two of them. She knows that the favorite types of treats for two of them were lemon flavored pastries so she knew exactly what to make for both of them so she headed towards the kitchen to get to work.
While she was working she thought, I hope none of them come into the kitchen while I work these. Otherwise it won’t be a surprise! Luckily it didn’t take long to make the batter and cream for the first gift to be done as she’s been making these so many times, she can do it in only a couple of minutes. After putting it all properly on a pan she put it in the oven that she preheated and set the right time to let it bake.
It didn’t take long for them to bake so once she took them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes, she took the cream and put it on half of them before putting all the treats without the cream on top of the ones with the cream. Alright, now to do the other treats I want to make, she thought, immediately getting to work after she put the first treats in a little plastic bag before putting it in a fancier fabric bag that she was able to tie up with a ribbon.
During the entire time that Serena was baking, she was relieved that none of her friends had entered the kitchen though she was worrying a bit that they might smell the leftover scent of the treats but she supposes that she shouldn’t have to worry too much because all of them are very likely hard at work on making their presents for each other. While the second treat was baking, she got to work on the slightly lemon flavored frosting as the treat already had plenty of lemon flavoring and the performer didn’t want their to be too much lemon flavoring because even though the two people these treats were for liked lemon flavored things, Serena knows when too much is too much.
Right as she finished the frosting, the oven beeped and she went over to it to take out the treats to let them cool, satisfied with the way they turned out. “And they’ll look even better once I put the frosting on them,” she whispered to herself with a small smile as she set them to cool. Serena honestly couldn’t wait for them to taste her two small batches of treats. Christmas is only in a few days so I shouldn’t have to wait long, she thought with an excited smile once the second treats had cooled enough that she could put them in a bag like she did with the first treats she had made.
A couple days passed and soon enough it was the morning of Christmas Eve. These past couple of days, Serena had been making breakfast but when she woke up and checked her clock she realized that she had slept in a little later than she intended so she immediately got out of bed and went to the door and opened it but paused when she smelled something good coming from the kitchen. Confused, she started walking towards the kitchen but honestly, she shouldn’t have been surprised to see Clemont.
The Gym Leader noticed her quickly and he said, “Oh, good morning Serena! I wanted to switch things up for a change and make all of you some breakfast. You and Ash are technically my guests after all and I’m almost always the one to make breakfast for Bonnie so it was time I made breakfast for you all while you and Ash are here for a change. But I hope you’re fine with french toast for breakfast.”
“Oh, french toast sounds amazing!” Serena said happily. Clemont nodded with a slight satisfied smile on his face as he got back to work on making breakfast. The two stood and sat there in the kitchen in comfortable silence before Serena said, “I still can’t believe that tomorrow’s Christmas! I’m so excited to see you all open the gifts from me and for me to open the gifts from all of you!”
The inventor in the room let out a small laugh and he said, “Yeah, I can’t wait to see what all of you guys got me. And for you all to see what I got for you all.”
“Later today I’m planning on baking some cookies to leave out for Santa tonight,” the performer said, slightly twirling some of her hair.
“Well, I can practically guarantee that Bonnie will be more than happy to help you out,” Clemont replied, glancing at her for a few seconds before going back to the french toast. Yeah she would. I should remember to ask her if she’ll want to help me when she wakes up, she thinks as she looks out the window in the kitchen at the snow covered Lumiose City which makes her also think, How nice it’s gonna be to have a white Christmas. I think it’ll start to snow again for a little bit tonight in fact.
She was lifted out of her thoughts when she heard Clemont say, “Alright, the french toast is done. And just in time too.” Just as he finished saying that, Serena heard two pairs of footsteps coming down from the hallway and Bonnie was the first to appear and was followed closely by Ash.
“Clemont! Clemont! Guess what?” Bonnie happily exclaimed, running over to her older brother.
With a smile and a small laugh, he asked, “What is it?”
The 8 year old girl gestured for Clemont to bend down and he did before she loudly whispered, “It’s Christmas Eve!”
“It sure is!” Clemont responded with a bigger smile which made both Ash and Serena smile at the wholesome sibling interaction. The Lumiose Gym Leader then gestured to the plate of french toast behind him and said, “I made some french toast for all of us to eat.” Bonnie let out a happy squeal and immediately went to get a plate.
“Every year Clemont makes french toast for breakfast on Christmas Eve, it tastes better and better!” the young blonde explained to Serena and Ash as she put some french toast on a plate for herself before setting said plate on the table and getting out the Pokemon food, which is apparently a special kind of Christmas Pokemon food, for Dedenne and Pikachu.
“I could believe it just from the smell!” Ash exclaimed as he went to go get a plate for himself as well and was followed by Serena and Clemont getting plates for themselves with Clemont also getting the toppings for the french toast. Once he did that, they all began happily eating while talking with each other about different kinds of things though it was mostly Christmas stuff.
It was a few hours after noon and Bonnie was in the living room playing with Dedenne, Pikachu, Heliolisk, and Sylveon when she heard footsteps behind her and she turned her head to see Serena, who was wearing an apron.
“Hey Bonnie!” Serena greeted her happily. “This morning Clemont suggested to me that you would really enjoy baking cookies for Santa with me. So would you like to help me?”
“You don’t have to ask me twice!” the young girl exclaimed, jumping to her feet and following Serena to the kitchen with Dedenne jumping onto her shoulder and Heliolisk, Pikachu, and Sylveon just following behind them.
Once they got to the kitchen, Bonnie put on an apron of her own and got to work helping Serena first make the dough. They were making sugar cookies that once they were done with the dough they would cut it into fun little shapes.
“Do you think we’re going to make enough cookies that we’ll have extras for all four of us?” the blonde girl asked, hoping that the answer would be the one she wanted.
“Yep, we definitely will!” the honey-blonde 10 year old answered, making the younger girl let out a small cheer of joy as the two almost began to speed up their process with making the dough. Once they had finished, Bonnie found the cookie cutters and began cutting shapes out of the sugar cookie dough before putting the cookies on a tray and into the oven.
“Now we need to make the frosting Serena!” Bonnie exclaimed as she snuck some extra cookie dough to Dedenne, Pikachu, Heliolisk, and Sylveon.
Serena nodded and said, “Yep, we sure do!” The two then immediately got to work on the frosting with Bonnie occasionally taking a little bit of the made frosting and giving it to the four Pokemon who seemed really excited to be getting a part of the sweet treats. Once the cookies came out of the oven, the girls immediately got to work decorating with help from the four Pokemon in the room and once they were done, they were very proud of the finished products.
“I want to pick out the ones that’re going to be for Santa!” the 8 year old exclaimed and the older girl laughed and let her do that as she got to work cleaning up. Bonnie and the Pokemon then picked out 4 of the sugar cookies for Santa and did their best to help Serena clean up before going back to playing in the living room.
A few minutes later, the door to the living quarters opened and in came Clemont and Ash who were out getting stuff for dinner and as they entered, Clemont spotted Bonnie after smelling the cookies and asked, “Did you and Serena have fun making cookies Bonnie?” She responded with an enthusiastic nod and happy chirps from the Pokemon.
“Could we try some of them, Serena?” Ash questioned the other 10 year old enthusiastically. The girl in question then gave all of them permission to have some of the cookies and both Ash and Bonnie practically went to pounce on the cookies while Clemont and Serena patiently waited to grab a few for themselves.
It wasn’t long before the sun set and all of the lights of Lumiose City were lit up. Bonnie happily went to scamper to the front room, eager to open her pajamas that Clemont had gotten for her. The other three entered the room not far behind her, all of them holding their respective wrapped pajamas and sat down on the chairs and couch with Clemont having sat next to her while Ash and Serena took the two chairs.
The youngest of them all eagerly looked up at her brother and asked, barely being able to hold back her excitement, “Can we open our pajamas now? Can we? Can we?”
The Gym Leader smiled and said, “Sure. Everyone can open their pajamas now.” At given permission, Bonnie ripped up the wrapping paper in record time and upon seeing the Dedenne onesie, she made a high pitched squeal that she didn’t even know was humanly possible and practically squeezed the life out of her brother while repeating ‘Thank you!’ and ‘I love it so much!’ over and over again.
“I’m glad you like it. It took me a little while to find the perfect pair of pajamas for you,” Clemont confessed, and she could tell he was a little sheepish about admitting that but she didn’t.
“Aw, you know I would like whatever you gave me big brother,” she replied, releasing her brother.
The older blonde smiled and said, “Well, I’m glad to hear that. And I love my Luxray pajamas as well.” She gave him a happy ‘You’re welcome’ as Ash and Serena said to each other that they really like their Pikachu and Braixen onesies as well. Though we aren’t completely done with tonight's activities, Bonnie thought, we still need to put the stocking stuffers in each other's stockings! She then reminded the others of this and they all quickly did that before they all went to get some sleep so they could have plenty of rest for the excitable day tomorrow.
Clemont was being woken up by something lightly jumping on his bed and when he opened his eyes he noticed that the culprit was Bonnie who was very likely jumping on his bed to wake him up because when she noticed that he was awake, she stopped doing so.
“I’m surprised that for once you’re actually awake before I am,” he told her, causing her to make a sort of pouty face.
“Of course I am!” she replied. “Did you already forget what day it is?”
He decided to mess with her a little as he said, “Hmm, isn’t it Thursday?”
She glared at him and he could tell that she caught on to the fact that he was messing with her but she still decided to respond with, “No, big brother! It’s Christmas!”
“Oh right. How could I forget?” he said playfully as he sat up which earned him a tackle from his younger sister, causing him to laugh. “Now, how about we go wake up Ash and Serena so we can open presents?” he suggested after Bonnie got off of him to which the blonde girl happily agreed and followed him out of his bedroom to wake up the other two.
Once Ash and Serena were up, the four of them went to the living room and Bonnie was ecstatic to see all of the presents and at the thought of being able to open them. When the rest of them were all able to sit down, they began to open their presents, starting with Santa’s before going onto the gifts that had come in from each of their parents before moving onto the gifts from each other.
It started with them all opening their gifts from Ash. Clemont was a little surprised that Ash was able to find such a high quality tool set he could use for building things while Serena absolutely loved the red and gold ribbon that she could use for outfits and Bonnie easily became obsessed with the little adventure kit that she was gifted.
Next was the gifts from Serena. Ash was really happy with the handmade scarf Serena had made for him and practically put it on immediately. Clemont really liked the customized notebook that Serena decorated herself that he could use for notes on any invention or even battle tactics. The moment Bonnie laid eyes on the clips she was given that matched with Serena, she practically thanked Serena a million times over.
They were planning on doing Clemont’s gifts next but Bonnie begged for hers to be done before her brothers and all three of them agreed to it. I’d like my gift to her to be the last main one she opens anyway, the inventor thought. Ash loved the bracelet and adorable drawing of the four of them that Bonnie had drawn for him. After Serena thanked Bonnie for the cute charm bracelet, she put it on her wrist. Clemont unwrapped his present and opened the box to find a small, chibi Heliolisk plush.
“Do you like it Clemont?” his little sister asked, clearly eager for an answer.
He let out a small affectionate laugh as he said, “I absolutely love it Bonnie.” This single sentence alone made her expression light up which made him even more excited to see her expression for when she opened up her gift from him.
Speaking of which, it was time for Bonnie, Ash, and Serena to open their gifts from him to which he began to feel slightly anxious to see all of their reactions to what he gifted each of them.
When Ash opened up his gift, he clearly enjoyed it but he just seemed a little confused by it so he decided to shine some light on it for him so he said, “It’s a sort of custom Pokegear device to help you if you decided to have any future travels.”
“Awsome! Science is so amazing!” Ash exclaimed as he was able to turn it on and started experimenting with it.
“Woah, you got me a portable styling kit? Thank you Clemont!” Serena said happily.
“I’m glad that you like it,” the Gym Leader replied, rubbing the back of his head, a little embarrassed. Now it was Bonnie’s turn so he anxiously looked over at her as she began to rip up the wrapping paper covering the gift. She flipped the book over some before deciding to open it and seeing the contents made her pause and her expression became unreadable, making him a little nervous.
But then she suddenly tackled him, knocking him over onto his side from where he sat on the couch as she shouted, “THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU CLEMONT! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I’M GOING TO CHERISH IT FOREVER!” As she finished excitedly shouting that Clemont finally realized that she was even crying tears of joy which made him extremely happy to see as he did his best to hug her back. He knew that Ash and Serena were probably watching them in affectionate amusement.
“Wait but now we need to open our stocking stuffer gifts and then eat breakfast,” Serena pointed out, causing Bonnie to get off of Clemont so he could finally get up. They all decided to eat breakfast before opening up the stocking stuffer gifts. It was delicious crepes that were made by Clemont and he was happy to see that his friends and sister enjoyed them and honestly, he quite enjoyed them as well and was proud of his work.
“Yay! Now we can open our stocking stuffer gifts!” Bonnie exclaimed excitedly as they all took their stockings and went back to the seats they were previously sitting to open up the stocking stuffers.
From Ash, Serena enjoyed the Love Ball keychain, Clemont really liked his small adventure kit that he didn’t even have to use on adventures, and Bonnie was very excited about the Pokemon sticker sheet.
Next, they all opened their stocking stuffer gifts from Serena and Ash got almost started to scarf down his Poke Puffs samplers that was basically Poke Puffs specifically made for humans. Both Clemont and Bonnie were really thankful and happy while almost immediately trying the treats from Serena, lemon macarons for the older sibling and lemon cookies for the younger one and both of them agreed that they were amazing and maybe even better then the other times Serena’s made these treats.
They all then opened the ones from Clemont. Ash immediately started messing with his little gadget keychain, Serena began to figure out how to work her mini pocket holographic projector, and Bonnie once again thanked him a million times for the heart shaped locket necklace that had a picture of the two of them inside and she said that she’ll cherish it just as much as she will with her scrapbook of memories captured on film of mostly the two of them but also a few pictures of the four of them. The blonde haired girl also declared that she’s going to make her locket her good luck charm from her brother which couldn’t have made Clemont any happier.
The final presents of Christmas were Bonnie’s stocking stuffer gifts. Ash absolutely loved his little Pikachu plush charm, Serena was super happy with her star-shaped hairpin, and Clemont couldn’t have been happier with his little Emolga keychain. They then thanked each other again for all the presents and Clemont found it a little bittersweet that they were done opening presents but he knew that they had a whole day ahead of them.
It was the end of the day and everyone was pleasantly exhausted from all the festivities they did throughout the day. The Lumiose Gym Leader was getting ready to go to sleep and he knew that Ash and Serena were already asleep. He was about to close his eyes when he heard the door to his bedroom open and he looked over to see Bonnie.
“Are you alright Bonnie? Do you need something?” he asked, sitting up in his bed.
“Oh, I’m fine,” she said truthfully as she walked over to his bed before asking, “Can I sleep with you tonight?”
“Uh, sure. But why? You only ever want to sleep with me when you’ve had a bad dream or something,” he told her.
“I know,” Bonnie replied, climbing onto his bed. “But I just wanted to sleep with you tonight because I feel like I can’t thank you enough for my presents. I will never stop loving them.”
He smiled as he moved over a little so she had room to get under the covers and curl up next to him as he said, “I’m happy to hear that. And also… I’ll never stop loving you too.” Bonnie giggled at this as they both laid down and fell asleep with matching happy smiles on their faces.
Ash and Serena managed to wake up the next morning before them and when they saw the heartwarming scene of the two Lumiose siblings, they both smiled and decided to let them sleep for a little longer.
