That Drunken Night

Summary:

Missions has been sparse lately, and Enjin could afford to go out to these easier ones with the kids just to say he is actually working and not lazing about.

Work Text:

It's getting colder. Enjin thought, pulling his coat tighter around himself.

The fading trash beasts laid around their feet, another easy mission. The supporters doesnt even have to lift a hand this time. Enjin really was here to supervise the kids.

Well, just one kid, Rudo. The rest of his team can handle themselves.

"Alright, lets head back." Enjin drawled, already stepping towards his jeep parked not that far away.

Missions has been sparse lately, and Enjin could afford to go out to these easier ones with the kids just to say he is actually working and not lazing about.

But to be completely honest with himself, he just really wanted an excuse to hang out with Gris.

Enjin can't help it, eight out of ten times his missions are just him being sent out. Which he can't complain! He loves working alone! But it's the other times, too. He is so often not paired with Gris's little team. That means not only does he not spent much time in HQ, he doesn't get to meet with his favourite supporter on missions, not even a little bit.

He wraped an arm around Gris's shoulder, "Wanna go out for drinks later?" He asked, pressing closer. "I know you are free tonight." He pokes at Gris.

Gris smiled. Enjin swears his heart skipped a beat. "Does this easy of a misssion calls for a celebratory drink at all?"

"Who says its a celebratory drink? Can't a guy just hang out with his friend?" Enjin grinned back, "I haven't been able to hang with you since forever! Cmon Gris, just the two of us?"

Gris laughed, the vibrations of it felt warm against Enjin's side. "Sure. Just 'cause you asked so nicely." And Enjin felt giddy already.

---

Rudo trails behind Enjin and Gris as he looks at the two adults. He slows down to match the pace the others had a couple steps behind.

"What's up with them?" Rudo points discreetly. Riyo glanced at where he is pointing and cackled. Zanka just rolled his eyes.

"Enjin has a big fat crush on Gris." Follo quiped from beside him. Riyo only cackled louder at that. Rudo stared in disbelief.

"Its been like this for a while. Even before you joined." Zanka groaned. "I'm honestly surprised that it took you this long to ask anything though, with how obvious Enjin is."

Rudo squinted at Enjin and Gris's back. "So they aren't dating?"

Riyo snickered. "Nah. Enjin is too much of a loser to ask Gris out. There is a betting pool in HQ right now. Wanna chip in?"

"There's a—?!"

"Hey! Hurry up before I leave you kids here!" Enjin yelled from besides the jeep, Gris already getting in the passenger seat.

"I'll tell you about it when we get back." Riyo grinned, looking pleased with herself. And Rudo can see Enjin arch an eyebrow from where he was standing.

---

Enjin laughed brightly, leaning closer towards Gris, a half finished drink in his hand.

It's the night after the kids' little mission. Enjin had practically dumped them in HQ and immediately drove to the city, ditching the paperwork for tomorrow him. His outing (date. His brain supplies dreamily) with Gris is more important then anything else at the moment.

They are visiting the bar the cleaners frequented, it's familiar and the drinks are decent, but most importantly the bar has a discount for the cleaners.

That's maybe why Enjin is feeling a bit tipsy. A bit more then tipsy. Usually he handles his alcohol well, but it has been a while since he got to go out with Gris, and he may have gone a bit overboard.

"Gris. Griiisss." Enjin whined, liquid courage sloshing around his veins. He draped himself on Gris, rubbing his face on the older man's shoulder like some overgrown cat.

Gris only rolled his eyes. If Enjin does say so it even looked a bit fond. But that could be the alcohol talking.

"What?" Gris asked, taking a sip of his drink. Enjin pouted.

"You are drinking too little!" Enjin whined, leaning back in his stool. Gris had to wrap an arm around Enjin's waist when it seems like Enjin is tipping just a bit too far, pulling him close towards him.

"And you are drinking too much!" Gris sighed. But Enjin is still stuck on the warmth of Gris arm around him, heat clear even through Gris's jacket and his own. Enjin could only grin dopily at Gris.

"A bit more wouldn't hurt." Enjin mumbled, burying his face into Gris's collar.

"Well, there needs to be a responsible one here, and that sure as hell isn't you." Gris replied, topping off the rest of his drink. "It's almost time to head back, hmm?"

"Mnn." He lets himself melts further in Gris's side. The alcohol he had isn't really enough to make him this drunk, Enjin thought distantly. But it does make a nice excuse to be clingy.

Gris sighed, hoisting the other blond up fron the waist. "Alright, up."

Enjin's arm cling around the Gris's shoulders, leaning on him for the support he doesn't really need, and left the bar.

The air outside is cold, and Enjin could feel it bite harsher against his flushed face. He shivered.

"Are you cold?" Gris asked gently besides him, deep voice inches away from his ear. Enjin felt another shiver wreck through him for a totally different reason.

"... Just a bit." Gris's arm wrapped tighter around Enjin.

The supporter opened the passenger seat to the car, placing him into the seat. Enjin closed his eyes and felt more then seen the car move. Maybe he is drunker then he thought.

--

"Hey, wake up." Gris quietly shook his passenger awake.

Enjin blinked, drool at the corner of his mouth. Gris smiled, amused. He resisted the urge to brush his hand through Enjin's mused hair.

"We are back in HQ. C'mon." He said instead, reaching an arm over Enjin's broad back and slipped a hand under his arm.

Enjin grumbled, stumbling out of the car seat and leaning on Gris. "Cold."

"Yeah?" Gris glanced at the man draped against his side.

"... Yeah," Enjin replied. "You are warm."

Gris's heart fluttered when Enjin leaned impossibly closer and wrapped his arm around his waist. He swallowed.

The trek towards Enjin's room was slow, made slower due to the giver's clinginess. It's kind of cute. Of which Gris will take to the grave with him.

Gris sighed as he approached the door to Enjin's room, he hoisted the younger man up before patting his companion down with his free hand for the key.

"Nnh. Gris, if you wanted to feel me up you can just ask." Enjin slurred practically right into his ear. He almost dropped Enjin out of shock.

Sure Gris had seen Enjin flirt with plenty of women before, drunkenly or not, but this is the first time he was on the receiving end of it.

"Dude, what?" Gris yelped, feeling his face heat up. He's 100% sure the blush on his face is noticeable, he just hope Enjin is drunk enough to not remember it tomorrow. "I'm looking for your keys, dumbass!"

"...Huh? Oh. The keys..." Enjin mumbled, fishing the keys from inside his jacket, before turning to Gris, his face just a breath away that Gris can count his eyelashes. He can feel his heart speed up. Enjin really is a pretty man.

"You look cute when you blush." Enjin laughed quietly before unlocking the door with a shaky hand. Gris's heart lurch in his chest. Enjin gave him no time to process any of that before practically dragging him along into his room and stumbling towards his bed.

Enjin fell face first on the mattress, not bothering with shedding any clothing. Gris only watched as the giver attempt to take off his boots without his hands for a while before heaving a deep sigh and walking over.

This is more familiar territory, taking care of a drunken Enjin.

He gently move Enjin up to sit at the edge of the bed before kneeling down, slowly untying the knots to his boots.

He was in the middle of taking off Enjin's second boot when he felt warm hands threading through his hair. Gris looked up to see Enjin smiling so unbelievably soft at him. He had to blink hard to make sure he isn't dreaming it. Enjin just laughed lightly, and Gris felt the familiar tug of fondness at his heart. He had to force himself to look away.

As Gris finished setting Enjin's boots at the foot of his bed, he stood up and move to pull the blankets up over Enjin when the blond suddenly pulled him down. Before he realises it, Enjin had somehow twisted himself to lay on top of him.

Gris flushed, now trapped underneath a grinning Enjin.

"E-Enjin, I need to go back to my room," Gris stumbles over his words, not knowing how to proceed with the situation on hand. Enjin blinked sleepily at him, his head resting over his thundering heart. He still has a smile tugging on his lips.

"Just stay. Sleep with me." Enjin says, words muffled on Gris's shirt. "... so warm." His hands move to clutch at Gris's side and his eyes are drooping shut.

"Wait, Enjin," Gris calls, reaching out to the younger. Enjin just hums back, already on the edge of sleep. Gris bit his lip before letting his hands fall gently over Enjin's back, resigned. He can't bear to shake Enjin awake when he's that close to sleep.

He relaxes into the mattress. Well, he tries his best to with the object of his affections lying on his chest. Gris closes his eyes, and tries to sleep.

---

Enjin blinks awake as the sunlight flitter in his room. His memories of yesterday stutter in frames behind a foggy screen. There is a lingering pain behind his eyes. He groans.

He could feel a warm body beneath him, and his first thought was that he might have brought someone back with him, even if that doesn't really make sense. He really had just wanted hang out with Gris last night.

But then Enjin really took a look at the body. Then he realised the body was Gris.

He sat up violently, heat filling up his cheeks all the way to the back of his neck. What did he do yesterday? Was the long gap between their regular hang outs that bad? Did it somehow got to his head and made him drag Gris into bed and did something? Gris's and his clothes are still on so it mustn't have been that bad.

"Um, good morning?" Gris saids, voice rough from sleep. Enjin flinched and looked down.

In his downward spiral, he didn't notice Gris woke up. Damn. He was hoping for a bit more time to think.

"... Good morning." Enjin smiled, but the smile feels awkward on his face.

Silence enveloped them, both staring into space, not quite meeting each other's eyes.

"I'm gonna leave now that you are awake?" Gris started, his hand touching gently at Enjin's thigh where he is still straddling Gris. The small contact burns. "I didn't want to wake you yesterday, so," Gris says, apologetic look in his eyes. The older's thoughtful words wrap around his heart warmly.

Enjin's brain must still not have woken up, because he says, "I love you so much." as he stare at the man beneath him. When he actually register what came out of his mouth, he slapped a hand over his mouth as his eyes widened in horror. Gris had a similar look of alarm as he stared back at Enjin.

"W-what?" Gris laughed, sitting up slightly. But Enjin could hear the panic in it. Fuck. He messed up.

"I. I mean. Uh." Enjin stuttered, his brain scrambling to make up something quick only to turn up blank.

A hand comes up to touch his cheek. The touch so tender it made Enjin's darting eyes snap back to Gris, his face just barely away. "Do you... do you mean it?" He asked, and Enjin must still be drunk because he thought he heard hope somewhere in that question.

"W-well. Maybe love is a bit of a strong word."

Gris looks crestfallen at that. The look sends a knife straight through Enjin's heart.

"But! But, uh- I have. Feelings." Enjin cleared his throat, steeling himself as he looks Gris straight in the eyes. "I care about you a lot."

It was so worth it. Gris's eyes widen as his cheeks flush a pretty shade of pink. He looks so beautiful, just from Enjin's confession. Enjin felt a small grin forming out his mouth just looking at Gris.

"Based on your reaction, I'm gonna assume you like me, riiiight?" Enjin purrs, head tilting to lean more into Gris's hand. Gris just rolled his eyes dramatically.

"Yes. I wonder what gave it away." Gris answers, that pretty blush still dusted high on his cheeks. Enjin feels jittery all over, excitement and joy from a successful confession washing over him, even if it is an accidental one.

"You look so cute when you blush, baby." Enjin muttered as he takes Gris's hands in his own, brushing his thumbs over his knuckles tenderly.

"You said something like that yesterday, too." Gris says, looking intently at their intertwined hands. Enjin smiled before and cupping Gris's cheek, his thumb touching lightly over his scar.

"Did I?" Enjin hummed, "It's true though." He added before kissing him, just a light press on the lips.

As Enjin pulls back, he catches Gris following after him. He snickers before sliding his hand over Gris's neck and pulling him in again for another one, titling his head to deepen the kiss.

Gris groaned when Enjin's teeth scraped at his bottom lip. That little sound send pleasant shivers down Enjin's spine, and he gave a muffled moan back as he licked into Gris's mouth, suddenly feeling overheated.

Gris's grip tighten at Enjin's hip as he nipped and suck on his tongue, the air between them getting heavier. He could hear Gris whine when his hands snaked up under his shirt, petting over the soft muscles. Enjin smiled into the kiss as he scratch lightly over his skin, just to feel Gris shiver against him.

Gris gasped wetly when Enjin breaks the kiss, lips spit slicked and swollen, handsome face now completely flushed as he looks at Enjin through half lidded eyes.

"You look so sexy like this. All red for me." Enjin said before pushing Gris back into the bed. his desire pooling so hotly it's making him dizzy.

"Ah, Enjin-!" Gris moaned as he pressed open mouth kisses along his neck, nipping lightly before biting and sucking in earnest at Gris's neck. Gris is clawing at his back, little gasps and small groans making its way from his throat.

Tattooed hands continue roaming down Gris's body as he pulls away from his neck, now blooming with red hickeys. He pulls up Gris's shirt, up until he sees the blush on Gris's chest.

Gris twitched when Enjin moved to lick a stripe from Gris's navel up towards his chest, arching his back and breathing out a moan as Enjin bit lightly at his nipple. He reach down, until he touched Gris's belt buckle, and starts to pull at it, trying to unbuckle it when—

"Wait, Enjin, wait." Gris yelps. And Enjin's touch are all off him.

"What? What did I do wrong?" Enjin asked, internally panicking. He doesn't want to scare off Gris.

"No, it's ok." Gris soothed, sitting up slightly. "It's just- let's take it slow, yeah?" He said before pressing a soft kiss on Enjin's lips and wrapping his arms around Enjin.

"Sorry." Enjin muttered when Gris pulled away, "Sorry if I scared you."

"You didn't. I just love you so much and I want us to take our time." Gris smiled. Enjin blushed hard at that. "Besides, we have debriefing in hour and you still reek of alcohol."

"How can you say things like that so casually." He grumbled and pushed at Gris. That stupid wall of muscle didn't even moved an inch. He rolled his eyes.

"What? That I love you?" Gris laughed.

"Yes. My god."

"I do though."

"Ugh, you-! Whatever." Enjin pushed at Gris again, "Now move. My dick is still hard and I can feel yours is too. You can take the bathroom after me." He can't help but smirk when Gris flushed and lets go.

---

Gris is late.

Well, Enjin is too, but Gris is never late. That's strange. Rudo tapped his boot against the concrete floor. He idly listen in on what Riyo and Zanka is chatting about beside him while glancing down at the hallway.

"Hey Semiu! Sorry I'm late, I was a bit hungover from yesterday." Enjin says cheerily as he walks in. Semiu just rolled her eyes.

Rudo blinks hard when Gris walks out from the hallway and into the reception room. He elbowed Riyo maybe a bit too hard in his rush to get her attention.

"Ow! What the-?" Riyo yelped before getting cut off.

"Look at Gris." Rudo jutted his chin at the man in question.

Riyo tsked before turning to where Gris is, before blinking hard as well.

"What the fuck?" The girl hissed at him. "Are those hickeys?!"

"What?" That caught Zanka's attention as he harshly turned to Gris's direction to take a look.

That was the exact moment when Engine wrapped an arm around Gris's shoulders and brushed his fingers against his neck, right on the red marks.

A visible shiver ran through Gris, and Rudo tears his eyes away immediately. He felt like he just witness an extremely private and inappropriate moment, and he would like to bleach his eyes.

"I thought you said they aren't dating?!" He hissed back at Riyo, who now had her jaw on the floor.

"They aren't! At least I don't think so?!" Riyo replied, both parts shocked and horrified, no doubt from the two asshole's little display. "Zanka did you know?"

They both turn towards Zanka. He looks... horrified is maybe too light of a word. Rudo can't stop the chocked laugh from escaping at the sight of Zanka's face even at this strange situation.

"This is no laughing matter!" Zanka gritted out, one hand reaching up to pull at his hair, a wide look in his eyes. "They definitely aren't like this before, this must've happened literally yesterday."

"Wait. That means- that means I lost the fucking bet!" Riyo exclaims, all pretences of being quiet gone with her lost.

"What bet?" Enjin asked from behind them. Rudo jolted as he turned slowly to face Enjin. He still has an arm sling around Gris's shoulders. Usually they're already towering over him, but it now feels like they're looming.

"The bet about when you and your lover boy here is gonna get together." Semiu said from her desk, flicking through a stack of papers in her hand.

"What?!" Gris yelped, straightening up rigidly in Enjin's hold. Rudo flinched when Gris turned towards them. "Why would you make a bet base on people's love lives?"

"They didn't make it." Rudo sighed in relief when Semiu said with a laugh, taking Gris's attention away from them. "The boss did. It's the betting pool of Cleaners HQ."

Now it's Enjin who shocked. "The boss did?" Enjin squeaked, eyes wide and his brow twitching. "I'm not surprised at a little bet, but the Cleaners HQ?" He looks a little ill at the thought of that.

"The whole HQ?" Gris muttered under his breath, looking absolutely mortified.

"It's all said and done now, can't be helped." Semiu tapped the papers against her desk to tidy them before clearing her throat. "Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you lovebirds need to go on different missions today."

"Ah, damn." Enjin sighed, tightening his arm around Gris's shoulders before letting him go. "Did you at least win the bet?"

"Hell yeah I did." Semiu answered with a smirk.
