“And you’re… planning on flying to space by yourself?”
Ishigami sighs. “Not exactly. That sort of thing is too risky to test alone. I’ll have to wait to actually go there myself. The rocket I make will be pretty small but—"
“But you’ll still launch it,” Tsukasa interrupts. “You’ll make something that will go all the way up there.”
Ishigami pauses, watching Tsukasa carefully. “Yeah. I’ll do it no matter what.”
A strange sensation bubbles up in Tsukasa’s chest and runs through his entire body like electricity. His lips curl into a smile, and he can’t help leaning closer.
“I want to see it,” Tsukasa says. “When you get there, will you show me?”

From their very first meeting as children, Shishio Tsukasa and Ishigami Senku are enamoured with one another. Deciding to build up an unbreakable friendship is easy, it's perfectly logical. The difficult thing is holding onto it amidst earth-shattering changes, the steady passage of time, and the romantic feelings simmering slowly to the surface.

So far this has been so cute!! It’s either in Tsukasa’s POV or mostly in Tsukasa’s POV. No petrification, so it’s not the one I’ve been searching for (a childhood friends AU with the petrification still happening).
Tsukasa’s obviously very in character here and values Senku a lot. They seem to be crushing on each other unknowingly since childhood. At least that’s what I’m getting. Lots of words but that’s a good thing 🫰
