Tensions have been high ever since the debate.
Theo notices the tightness in Parrot’s shoulders and slight quiver in his voice when he speaks a bit too quickly. He's not dumb— after all that execution was brutal not just for him, but especially for Parrot. He didn't really know who Spepticle was but he knew he was somebody important if he sacrificed his life for Parrot. Most importantly, he didn't know how to help Parrot through his grief. He remembers seeing his still body watching the corpse of Spepticle and how it disintegrated in front of the both of them. No matter how loud Theo spoke, it never reached Parrot’s ears.
And then Parrot ran off, with zero warning. Theo tried to follow him and beg him to explain what's going on but all he got was a small comment about how he's going to be back soon and Parrot was gone.
Ever since he came back, Parrot’s been off. Rightfully so, but Theo just wanted to help him! So this led him to start scraping up some leftover gunpowder he had lying around that he had for TNT and grab some sugarcane from the riverside, and crafted fireworks. He also grabbed some colorful dye, some blues, some reds, practically everything he could find.
This led to now, a redstone contraption that will launch a firework show for them, far away from Spawn or any Law ran territory so they can have some alone time.
Some time to unwind and enjoy the New Year.
It was all ready, so Theo messaged Parrot on his communicator,
>>TheobaldTheBird whispers to Parrotx2: Yo, meet me at -2300 100
>>Parrotx2 whisper to TheobaldTheBird: coming
And now he waits.

To say Parrot is stressed is an incredible understatement.
He knows for a fact Lettuce wants him dead now, his other competitors in the election have been nothing short of hostile to him, and he still has to campaign for himself in the race for King. So when Theo told him to meet him at these random coordinates, he wished that it would be quick because he has zero time to spare at the moment.
He soars through the starry night sky, shades of green smearing together as he gains more and more speed with his elytra. Wind blows through his jacket, causing shivers from the cold to go up his spine. In the distance he sees a mountain range, he checks his coords,
“Yeah this is where Theo is at,” Parrot utters to himself.
Eventually, he lands gracefully on the glossy grass in front of Theo.
“Yo, Parrot, follow me.” Theo waves a hand as he turns walking towards the cliff, Parrot quickly walking to be by Theo’s side.
“What are we doing out here bro?” Parrot slightly laughs in confusion, he has no idea what this may be.
“Just– just trust me, you'll love it!” Theo exclaims enthusiastically, not daring to pause in his gait.
As they approach the edge of the cliff, Parrot looks downwards at the trails of redstone dust and repeaters going down the side of the mountains leading to observers, some more repeaters, and dispensers.
“Dude what is this?” Parrot looks at Theo bewildered, unable to make out what this redstone device may be used for… maybe a trap? No, Parrot thinks, it’s way too obvious.
“I thought I set up a little show for us, y’know? It’s New Year’s Eve! I wanted to have some fun.” Theo announces eagerly. Theo meets Parrot’s perplexed eyes and groans, pulling Parrot down onto the towel he laid out before for them to sit on.
“Just sit, c’mere–” Theo drags Parrot by his arm, ignoring his indignant squawks.
“Theo!” Parrot shouts, more as a reaction rather than anger. Though, he complies with Theo’s wish.
“What time is it?” Theo asks suddenly.
“It’s… 11:57” Parrot answers, looking at the clock he pulled out from his inventory.
Theo simply hums.
“So… What are your New Year Resolutions? Any big plans from Parrotx2, other than winning the election.” Theo questions while patting Parrot’s shoulder slightly.
“I… don't really know, usually I make it up as I go.” Parrot responds, though he’s lost in thought trying to think of something.
“C’mon! Surely you have to have something… maybe getting better at fighting–” Theo is cut off by Parrot,
“Alright bro! I get it!” He blurts flusteredly.
“Umm… Maybe I should spend more time with my friends rather than trying to save the world all the time?” Parrot mumbles letting out a nervous giggle at the end.
“Aye! I wouldn't mind hanging out more.” Theo hollers, leaning over to bump shoulders with Parrot affectionately.
Parrot relaxes at that, laughing alongside Theo.
“What about you?” Parrot asks, tilting his head.
“I would like to continue exploring with you, I’ve enjoyed these past couple of months” Theo smiles brightly, meeting Parrot eyes.
“Aww, how sweet” Parrot cooes.
“I am still the biggest bird, though.” Theo quickly adds.
“Yeah– Ha– Okay bro whatever you say man” Parrot snickers.
“It’s almost time.. it's 11:59! Are you ready?” Theo questions getting ready to flick the lever in front of them.
“Ready as I’ll ever be.” Parrot answers swiftly. He’s ready for whatever surprise this might be, averting his gaze in front of him.
Theo flicks the lever as the redstone begins to glimmer forward, slowly reaching the dispensers. Parrot waits anxiously, leaning into Theo through his thrill.
Suddenly, the skies light up full of different colors, contrasting the dark blue sky. Parrot watched in awe seeing the different shades of red, blue, yellow, and many more forming. There’s even some shapes he notices, a star… a planet. Parrot can't tear his eyes away as he listens through every crackle in the sky. It’s amazing— spectacular even!
Theo is watching as well with a big, fat smile on his face enjoying the show just as much as Parrot.
Eventually the whirlwind of colors died down, leaving the sky with some residue grey smoke. Parrot quickly turns over to Theo, embracing him tightly.
“Thank you so much bro, oh my god that was wonderful.” Parrot blabbers excitedly.
“It’s really no problem man– I am really glad you enjoyed it.” Theo hugs Parrot back, clutching him tightly.
“Happy New Years Theo.” Parrot murmurs next to Theo’s ear.
This time last year, he spent his New Year’s deep in War with the Mafia, fighting for his life alongside a familiar friend. He was too busy to celebrate, but now he can. It might be with a different companion, one far different from before. Theo was like a shining star burning brightly in Parrot’s life, one he couldn't look away from.
This time, he isn't going to make the same mistake like he did with Wifies.
This time, he's going to make sure he can live happily with Theo, and nothing is wrong with moving on.
