Will wants to roll his eyes, to ask him what the hell he knows about any of this—but the curiosity kills him. The curiosity of what Mike Wheeler could possibly imagine Will's speech was missing. The curiosity may actually kill him. Give him the face-to-face rejection he was so desperately trying to avoid.
