Chapter 1: First Chapter

Chapter Text

Mr. Jackson Wang was teaching a biology class at Smallville High. The students were learning about the human body. Clark Kent was one of the top students at this school, but found it hard to focus on Mr. Wang’s class. His mind couldn’t stop wandering around. He was wondering what his classmate Lex Luthor’s body looked like. How it worked, how the blood went through his veins, how his digestive system processed the food in his stomach, etc.

“Clark!” Jackson Wang screamed as Kent dropped his pen in surprise. “If I catch you daydreaming one more time, I’m sending you to the principal!”

Clark was really worried about getting sent to the principal, Mr. Terrence Reynolds. That man was already on him all the time because of his tardiness, so he didn’t want to give him another reason for him to think he’s a bad student.

Lex watched the whole scene with a smirk. He was sitting in front of Clark, on his right. This guy always intrigued him. Clark always mysteriously disappeared when danger arrived and reappeared after saving people. He tried watching him as much as he could to find out his secret, but he still wasn’t able to do so.

Clark bent down to pick his pen back up, not noticing Lex doing the same for him. Lex’s bald head bonked Clark’s luscious hair. For a second, Lex could feel again what it was like having hair on his head. Clark felt his alien blood rushing through his reddened cheeks. He did not know what made him feel like this.

Lex bent down again and successfully picked up the pen. “I’m keeping it,” Lex told Clark.

“Aren’t you like super rich?” Clark replied. “I think you can afford your own pen.”

Lex chuckled. “I kind of like this pen. It’ll remind me of you.”

Clark looked confused but couldn’t hide his smile, so he just laughed and flashed his Hollywood smile to play it cool. He took out his other pen and started focusing on the class again. However, he found his hand drawing Lex’s cranium visible through his bald head and even used his X-Ray vision to get a clearer look.

“CLARK! I see you drawing instead of taking notes. I’m sending you to the principal’s office!” Mr. Wang shouted.

“B-b-b-but-” Clark answered.

“No ‘but’!”

Clark stood up, disconcerted. He would have to give yet another bad impression of him to Mr. Reynolds. As he walks towards the door, he hears a loud thud coming from the locker area. Curious, he goes towards the noise’s origin point.

“Give me your lunch money!” shouted Kyle, the school bully, as he slammed Pete Ross against his locker.

Clark did not wait to come to his best friend’s rescue. He threw Kyle across the hallway, knocking him out instantly. He did not care to hide his strength since Pete already knew his secret, and Kyle would probably forget what happened because of the impact.

Clark instantly turned around, thinking someone was behind him. “My brain must be playing with me”, he muttered under his breath. What he did not know was that Lex followed him and saw the whole scene unfold before his eyes. He hid in the bathroom and took multiple fast, shallow breaths before calming down and realizing that he was right all along. Clark wasn’t a normal human being. No 15 year-old would be able to throw someone like that. But, what was he?

Clark finally headed to the principal’s office, but as he was about to open the door, the bell rang and Mr. Reynolds came out.

“Mr. Reynolds!” Clark shouted as he saw the principal leaving. “Mr. Wang sent me to you.”

“I’m sorry I have no time for you right now. You’re dismissed.”

Clark let out a faint smile but also had a bit of a confused look on his face. He brushed the man’s weird behaviour off and ran towards his friends Chloe and Pete. Lex stared at Clark from a distance while he was ruminating about Clark.

After school, Lex approached Clark. Clark felt butterflies in his stomach. Lex asked him if he was free that night and said that he needed help with biology. Truthfully, Lex only wanted to find an excuse to go into Clark’s house. But why would he pretend he needed help for biology? He thought about how he could’ve easily sneaked into his house, but part of him wanted to spend time with this boy. Clark smiled awkwardly and couldn’t form a word.

“Clark, are you okay?” asked Lex after seeing his confused face.

“Yes- of course,” Clark said. He was embarrassed for taking this long to answer. “I’ll help you with biology. You can come to my house; I’m sure my parents won’t mind.” He couldn’t stop smiling, which made him even more embarrassed.

Lex offered to drive Clark home in his expensive sports car, and the boy accepted the generous offer.

“So, Clark, I heard you usually walk home. What’s your address? I’m guessing it must be really close” asked Lex.

Clark looked a bit nervous for a moment but then told Lex his farm’s address. Lex looked shocked.

“You live so far from school to be walking back home every day! Why don’t you take the bus like the others?” asked Lex

“Oh, I’m just- exercising.”

“That’s crazy”

They both arrived safely in Clark’s house. Little did they know who was hiding in the barn…
