Ronance Baby

Summary:

“I got you some orange juice,” Robin says quietly, placing the cup by the sink to crouch next to Nancy. She rubs her back softly as she moves her hair away from her sweaty face. “Have you thrown up again? Are you going to be okay while I shower real quick? Do you want me to get you anything? Or do you want to go back to bed?”

Too many questions, Robin.

Nancy nods, giving her a little of her hand. Robin takes that as a hurry with your shower, I’ll be fine.

Robin and Nancy want to start a family and here’s how that goes.

Notes:

Thought I’d do more, have only found a few with them having kids.

Comments would be great!

*the first two chapter skip ahead a lot, but just bare with me before you give up on it*

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

“I want to have a baby.”

Robin looks up from her laptop, her reading glasses on the tip of her nose.

“Nance, honey,” Robin chuckles. “You know I don’t have a dick, right? Or I mean a dick that can-“

“Robin,” Nancy covers her wife’s mouth. “I know that. But we can get a donor.”

“Mmmm, mmmmm” Robin mumbles against Nancy’s hand, flicking her tongue out at the end. Nancy rolls her eyes and lets go, hopping onto the couch next to Robin.

“We just got married a month ago,” Robin takes her glasses off, setting them and her laptop on the coffee table.

“I know,” Nancy bites her lip. “But I’ve been thinking a lot about it. About us having a baby, starting a family.”

“This doesn’t have anything to do with what your dad said at the wedding?”

“No, I already knew my mom wants more grandchild. I’ve been thinking about this way before the wedding.”

Robin shifts on the couch, facing Nancy.

“Tell me your thoughts,” Robin says softly, grabbing Nancy’s hand and plays with her wedding ring.

Nancy grins, pulling out a piece of paper from her (Robin’s) hoodie pocket. A pros and cons list. Robin chuckles, taking the list and reading it over. Her breath catches a bit at the last bullet point in the pros section.

Circled and underlined: Robin with kids.

“Me with kids?”

“Everytime we see my family, you are always with the kids. Whether it’s Holly’s or Mike’s, you are amazing with them.” Nancy moves forward to Robin, grabbing her face softly. “I see you with them and it makes my heart hurt because I want that with you. I want a baby with you. You’ll be an amazing mom, I know it.”

Robin closes her eyes, a tear falls down her cheek. Never would she have thought that someone wanted to be with her, let alone have a baby with her. Her parents never thought she’d be here. Nancy wipes the few more tears that fall with her thumbs.

“Okay,” Robin breathes, opening her eyes.

“Okay?” Nancy has tears in her eyes.

Robin nods, leaning forward connecting their lips in a soft kiss. They both smile into it, tears falling from both their faces.

They break apart, foreheads resting on each other.

“Wanna go try and make a baby?” Robin smirks.

“Robin,” Nancy rolls her eyes, but laughs.

“That a yes?” Robin stands, motioning for Nancy to too. Once they are both standing, Robin bends down to get under Nancy, lifting her up.

“Robin!” She shirks, her legs and arms flying around Robin. She can’t help but smile and laugh at her wife.

“We’re gonna have a baby!” Robin yells, heading down the hall to their bedroom.

———

A week later.

“Ready?” Robin grabs Nancy’s hand. They are sitting in Robin’s car in Steve’s driveway. Nancy nods, giving her hand a squeeze and getting out.

They walk hand in hand to the door. Robin knocking before either of them have a chance to back out. The door opens, Steve’s smiling face on the other side of it.

“Stevie, my boy!” Robin hugs him, letting go of Nancy’s hand. “Damn, you gain a few pounds since the wedding?”

“Oh fuck off,” he pushes her away, pulling Nancy in for a hug next. “Hi Nancy.”

“So what’s up?” Steve says, closing the door and leading them into the living room. He’s still in his parent’s house, but has since bought it from them. He’s updated it, with Robin’s help, which was really her just sitting there while he worked. “Sounded kinda important on the phone.”

Nancy slowly sits on the couch, Robin stays standing.

“Okay, now you’re freaking me out.”

“Steve,” Robin places her hand on Nancy’s shoulder. Nancy looks up at her and nods. “We’re gonna have a baby.”

“WHAT!” Steve jumps up from the couch. “That’s great- wait how? You don’t have a di-“

“That’s what I said!”

“Oh my god,” Nancy mumbles, dropping her head into her hands. “Steve, sit please.”

Steve stops his laughing with Robin, taking a seat next to Nancy.

“We are gonna try for a baby,” she says holding up her hand before he or her wife can make a comment. “But we need a donor and we don’t really want someone we don’t know. So, we were wondering if, maybe you could be our donor? We’ve looked into guys who have already donated, but I just can’t do that. We want someone that we know.” She shuts her eyes, nervous for an answer.

“Please Steve?” Robin asks, now a little nervous herself.

Steve’s eyes are wide, but a huge smile on his face. He grabs Nancy’s hand, making her open her eyes. He grabs Robin’s that isn’t on Nancy’s shoulder.

“It’s not even a question,” Steve squeezes both their hands. “Of course I will!”

“Really?” Nancy cries, looking up at Robin.

“I wouldn’t want you guys to use someone else,” he smiles. “Wait, does that mean we have to have sex again?”

“Oh my god,” Nancy groans, dropping her head again.

“No dingus,” Robin smacks him upside the head. “It’s like a turkey baster thing, just gotta shove it-“

“Guys!”

Robin and Steve shut their mouths, trying to hold in a laugh.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this with you two.”

“WE’ER GONNA HAVE A BABY!” Both Steve and Robin yell at the same time. Nancy can’t help but smile with them.

——-

2 months later

“You didn’t tell me I had to jerk off into a cup!” Steve yells in a whisper.

“Not my fault you didn’t look this up,” Robin just shrugs, sitting in her chair in the waiting room.

“You could’ve at least told me. What if I wasn’t suppose to, ya know, last night?” He makes a hand gesture to emphasize.

Robin gags, falling forward dramatically like she’s actually throwing up.

“Will you two shut up?” Nancy snaps, her knee bouncing up and down. She drops her head into her hands, now her bouncing her head up and down.

“Hey babe,” Robin grabs her hand softly, pulling it away from her face. She presses a kiss to the back of it. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.”

Nancy drops her head into Robin’s shoulder, hoping to calm down before her name is called.

She shouldn’t be this nervous, this is what she wanted. She just can’t help it. If think about what could go wrong. What if it doesn’t take? What if she loses it? What if she’s a terrible mother?

“Nancy Buckley and Steve Harrington?”

Dammit.

Nancy stands, looking down at her wife before she’s goes. Robin squeezes her hand.

“You got this,” she gives Nancy a small smile. “I love you.”

“I love you.” Nancy goes, following the nurse.

“Think dirty thoughts!” Robin smirks at Steve.

Nancy rolls her eyes as Steve flicks her off.

———

6 weeks later

Nancy paces in their living room. Today’s the day she’s suppose to take a pregnancy test since they were at the clinic. She thinks she pregnant. Her boobs hurt, she’s tired all the time, moody, and she’s cramping a bit.

She has to be, right?

It isn’t much longer before the front door opens, her beautiful wife entering.

“Hi Nance,” she breathes, giving her a quick kiss before she sets her bag by the door and takes her shoes off. “You okay?”

“I’m suppose to do that test today,” Nancy sighs, running a hand through her hair.

“Did you take it yet?”

“No I was waiting for you.”

“Okay,” Robin grabs her hand. “Let’s go.”

Nancy follows her to the bathroom, taking out the tests they bought a couple of weeks ago. Robin takes them out of the box, reading the instructions and telling Nancy what to do.

“This isn’t my first time taking a pregnancy test,” Nancy laughs at Robin’s shocked look.

“Nancy Buckley.”

“It was, like the last time I had sex with Jonathan.”

Robin shivers, going back to reading the instructions.

“If it was with Steve, we’d already have a baby.”

“If it was with Steve, we’d have a 14 year old.”

“True,” Robin laughs, leaning back against the sink now.

Nancy takes all 3 tests, setting them all on the counter behind Robin. They both just stand there, watching them.

“It says 3 minutes,” Robin whispers, not looking away from the tests.

“Tell me about your day,” Nancy says, grabbing Robin’s hand, also keeping her eyes on the tests. “Please.”

“I got to teach both French and Spanish today. That only happens on Wednesdays.”

“I know you like teaching both,” Nancy smiles.

“I love it, but I’m not sure if the kids are paying attention enough because I spoke a whole sentence in Spanish, but I was teaching French.”

Nancy chuckles just as the time Robin set on her phone goes off.

Neither of them breathe, each taking a test in the hand that isn’t holding each other.

Pregnant.

“Nance,” Robin whispers, looking down at her wife. They both set the tests down. Robin looks at the third just to clarify.

“I’m pregnant,” Nancy turns to Robin. Her eyes start to water, her hand going to her chest. She’s so relived it took. They’re gonna have a baby. “Robin, I’m pregnant!”

Nancy throws her arms around Robin’s neck. Robin’s go to her waist, holding her tight.

“Oh my god!” Robin picks her up. Nancy yelps, wrapping her legs around her waist. She takes them to the bed, dropping Nancy down carefully before she lays on top of her. “I love you.” She presses a kiss to Nancy’s cheek. “I love you.” Other cheek. “I love you.” Her nose. “And I love this baby.” She kisses her lips.

“Thank you,” Nancy cries, shutting her eyes as more tears fall. She hiccups, fighting back a sob. Damn hormones are already getting to her. This was suppose to be a happy moment.

“Honey,” Robin pulls them up, turning so Nancy’s in her lap while she sits in the edge of the bed. Nancy buries her head in her neck. “What’s wrong?”

“Thank you for wanting this with me,” she whispers again Robin’s skin.

“Nancy,” Robin rubs her back in slow circles. “You think I didn’t want this?”

Nancy nods just a tiny bit. It’s been on her mind since they’ve been at the clinic, like she forced Robin to do this.

“Why would you think that?” Robin’s voice is soft and calming.

Nancy shrugs.

“I want this. I want a baby with you, I want a family with you. My parents never thought I’d get someone to spend the rest of my life with, let alone have a child with,” she drops her head onto Nancy’s, a tear falling down her cheek. “You’re going to be an amazing mom, Nance. Ever since we talked about it, all I’ve thought about was how this kid is going to have the best life. Because of you” Nancy’s breathing has slowed down. “I can’t wait to spoil you, paint the extra bedroom and put a crib together, even getting up in the middle of the night to feed them. I can’t wait for all of it. I’m so excited to do this with you.”

“I love you,” Nancy breathes, moving her head from Robin’s neck and resting it on her forehead.

“I love you,” Robin smiles. “We’re gonna have a baby.”
