The announcement by Chairman Go comes out of nowhere, during a regular press conference with all the major news outlets and Hunter Guilds in attendance.
“It’s nice to see all of you gathered here. I’m sure you have been wondering why I have called you all here.” He looks to the side of the stage, pausing for a moment. “I would like to announce South Korea’s 11th S-class, Fushiguro Megumi,” he smiles.
The crowd immediately hushes. Hunter Sung steps out, accompanied by a sullen teenage boy whose hands are shoved in his pockets. Is that really the newest S-class Hunter?
“Hunter Fushiguro has been training with me for over a year now,” Hunter Sung announces. “He may only be 15, but he’s stronger and more experienced than he looks.”
Hunter Fushiguro steps forward and bows. “I hope I can help protect you all.”
Silence. They wait for him to say something more. “What class are you? What are your abilities?” A reporter finally shouts out.
Fushiguro glances at Hunter Sung, before responding. “I am a Mage class like Hunter Sung, we have similar abilities. Hence Hunter Sung training me.”
“Are you Japanese? Why are you here in Korea?”
At this, Fushiguro’s neutral face hardens. “Hunter Sung took me in, that’s all I will say about this. I am very grateful to him.”
Chairman Go steps forward again. “That’s enough questions for Hunter Fushiguro now. I will continue from here. As you have likely guessed, Hunter Fushiguro will be joining Ahjin Guild under Hunter Sung’s direction. I have the utmost faith in the two of them. That is all for today.”
At this, the three of them all leave the stage. The reporters go crazy. The Guild leaders are left speechless.
When the news breaks that South Korea has another S-class Hunter who has been training with Hunter Sung Jinwoo in secret for a year now, the public goes crazy.
If Sung Jinwoo trained him, what is he capable of? Just how strong is he? Who exactly is Fushiguro Megumi. All the Association revealed is that he is a Mage class with abilities similar to Hunter Sung. How did the Association keep him under wraps for so long? Where did he come from?
Questions dominate the Internet in the wake of the announcement. The most pressing: why is he here if he’s Japanese? The rivalry between the two countries’ Hunters is legendary.
One theory starts to gain traction. It’s posted by an anonymous user who claims to have insider knowledge. This user claims that Megumi is actually Jinwoo’s illegitimate son with a Japanese hunter. Within a day, the hashtag #secretJapaneselovechild is all over the internet.
Then people started wondering, if this was true, then who was the other parent… Could it have been… Goto Ryuji?
