Through some unknown means, a retired athlete in the modern days was sent back to the Taisho Era, specifically into the Universe of Demon Slayers. But it was not reincarnation; that would have been easier to deal with.

Tanjirou hadn’t known that demons could cry. None of Old Man Saburo’s stories, nor Grandma’s legends had mentioned anything of the sort. Demons were bloodthirsty monsters that lived for the kill. Humans that encountered the beasts were not fated to survive beyond the break of day. It was the impossible made possible. This demon cried silently, once seemingly emotionless depths swirling with some intangible thing that broke this being from whatever spell they had been held under.
