It was Friday, and school had finally let out. The kids smiled as they ran outside to the playground, ready to begin the fun. And they were even more excited because next week would be the final week of school before summer vacation.
"One more week to go and then we're free for summer!" Peppermint Patty smiled.
"I'm so glad we finally finished our final tests yesterday!" Julie chuckled.
"I'm so excited! This is going to be my first summer with Snoopy since reuniting with him!" Lila squealed.
"Wow, Lila. You're so sweet like rainbows and lollipops." Carlos chuckled.
"Anyway, I don't mean to disrupt the good vibe, but I have an announcement." Lucy smiled, much to everyone's nervousness. "I signed us all up for summer camp!"
"What?!" Linus exclaimed. "Lucy, we already had big plans for our break! You should have asked us!"
"I didn't think it would be a big deal." Lucy shrugged. "And quit crying, blockhead. It's only two weeks. We'll enjoy the rest of summer once we get back."
"I don't mind. I think camping's a fun adventure." Shawn smiled.
"You said it, Shawn! Camping is the best!" Peppermint Patty smirked. "Swimming, roasting hot dogs over the fire, canoeing, roasting hot dogs over the fire, nature hikes, roasting hot dogs over the fire!"
Everyone blinked. "You already said that three times." Min pointed out.
Peppermint Patty shrugged. "I like hot dogs." she smiled.
"Where's Tosha?" Frieda asked.
"Oh, she's in the classroom with Heather helping the teacher with something." Marcie said, barely looking up from her book. "They'll be out here soon."
