Work Text:
“Henryyyyy!” Alex whined from where he was chilling on the bed.
“Five more minutes!” Henry called from his office.
“You said that five minutes ago!”
“I’m sorry if the Director of Nutritional Equality of Brooklyn is so boring to you,” Henry called back. His partner squeaked in horror. “Oh no, director. We are both big fans. It’s just an uh, inside joke that you weren’t meant to hear on speaker phone…”
I swear to god, Henry texted to him while he talked. I am this close to scheduling a last minute follow up meeting with the New York City Director of Queer Fantastical Fiction just to annoy you if you keep interrupting.
There is no way that is a real title! Alex replied back.
He desperately resisted the urge to go into a research rabbit hole, which was probably exactly what Henry was doing to bait him into being quiet.
Perhaps, you can find a way to keep busy.
That got Alex’s attention.
Challenge accepted.
A familiar pool of warmth gathered deep in his chest, but Alex knew he couldn’t be that obvious about it. No, he wanted to have some fun. He looked around the room for ideas, his eyes instantly finding the array of markers, gel pens and highlighters from his studying. Perfect.
Wearing a shit-eating grin, Alex grabbed the blue highlighter, placed the cap between his teeth, and drew circles for eyes around his nipples. Then he took the purple gel pen and drew glittery eyelashes. Black pen for the nose. Red marker for juice lips.
“Hey sexy,” Alex purred to no one as he grabbed some tummy fat to ‘mouth’ the words as he said them.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Alex looked up to find Henry gaping at him and smirked. His boyfriend’s eyes dilated as he stared him up and down. Henry crossed his arms in that delightfully pouty way of his as he strode over to the bed and climbed on, examining his artistry. Mission complete.
“You said to distract myself!” Alex pointed out.
“You are impossible.”
Yet, Henry leaped onto the bed and climbed over him so he could begin to plant kisses down Alex’s cheek, chin, down his chest…
“Uh-uh,” Alex teased. “Missed a spot.”
He dug his hands into Henry’s blonde strands so he could guide him exactly where he wanted and let out a dreamy sigh. Maybe they could order in. After all, why waste all that precious time pretending this wasn’t exactly what they wanted out of date night?”
“I hate you,” Henry mumbled as Alex encouraged him to trail his tongue to trace the red lips on his skin.
“No, you love me. Both of me.”
