The following material is one of seven project summaries that accompanies the Project CYPHR multimedia video saga. The following material is not fully written prose fanfiction, but instead is summaries of the events that take place in the story depicted in the multimedia compilation. It is a part of the greater CODA series which is to be viewed and explored in concurrence with this specific installment, which is specific to: JIMIN.

Full explanation of CODA and it's operation can be found on the CODA Series homepage, which can be found here.
The full CODA work can be viewed in a variety of ways listed below:

+ CODA can be read Member-specific, where the chronological events of one protagonist are read in appropriate sequence. After one member's story line is complete, you may follow the links to the other members respective stories or access them in the CODA series list of applicable works. To proceed to the next 'CYCLE' for Member-specific reading, simply ignore the embedded image and link at the bottom of each 'CYCLE' and click the 'NEXT CHAPTER' button.

+ CODA can be read in proper member-sequenced order, which was set up specifically by the Project CYPHR team and follows a systematic pattern of execution that moves between member-specific stories. This system was created as a way for the stories to all align in a certain way and is the intended pattern for reading through one specific 'CYCLE' before proceeding to the next in the full CODA story. To follow this method, at the end of each member-specific entry, click on the embedded image and link at the bottom of the work. This will take you to the next member-specific entry in that 'CYCLE'. At the end of each CYCLE, the final member-specific entry will be labeled with 'END OF CYCLE #' for clarification and will link to the next CYCLE in CODA.

+ A reading style of your choosing in which you ignore all links and direction from anyone and read willy-nilly. It's your reading experience, and therefore entirely your free-will to read however you may wish to do so.

CODA is not written like a standard story, and instead is composed only of 'summaries' or 'cliffnotes' of the events of each CYCLE listed and portrayed in the video saga. CODA will never be written to its full prose potential and permission is not granted for any individuals to do so for the Project CYPHR team.

Chapter 1: CYCLE 1

Chapter Text

The narrative begins describing a bustling restaurant of high class and order, catering to those with wealth and prestige. It focuses on one section of the restaurant where faceless people mutter over menus and a waiter attempts to coax an older gentleman to try the special, which he highly recommends. The man finally concedes and the waiter bows, smiling and reassuring the man and his companion that their food will be out shortly. He retreats, muttering under his breath, and enters a bustling kitchen where he immediately launches towards the prep-line, hollering to the chefs the new order as he frantically attempts to finish a job that was clearly left half way through. One of the waitresses swings past him, expressing sympathy in his taking over two positions that night - as both server and prep chef - as there is a shortage of people and they’re “extremely tight” that night on staff.

The waiter, identified as Jimin, thanks her and attempts to go back to fixing things for servers to take into the Dining Room while also hastily assembling his own tray of orders. Briefly, it is explained that Jimin is working double and the only reason he’s taken on server and prep chef is because Hoseok, his identified roommate, is out for an impromptu dance performance and had asked Jimin to cover his shift. The nature of Hoseok and Jimin’s relationship is abandoned as he hastily runs out of the kitchen, nearly colliding with someone, in order to deliver orders for a table in polite apology for being ‘delayed.’

Jimin continues through the evening in constant motion, chattering with everyone and getting flustered the more he attempts to do, occasionally breaking items in the kitchen in his haste. Finally, nearing the end of the night as he helps the dishwashers tackle the last of their work, he takes his dinner break at close to eleven and immediately picks up his phone. He finally regresses into worried internal musing over a fight between two friends - Yoongi and Jungkook - and lingers over the general well-being of all of his friends and companions. It is evident that Jimin worries over most of his friends, but particularly expresses concern over Jungkook and Yoongi, as well as a mix between worry and affectionate exasperation over Hoseok.

At the end of his dinner break, Jimin gets a call from Jungkook asking him to come out and meet him to ‘hang out’ after a long day. Jimin apologizes and explains that the can’t due to his work schedule, but reassures Jungkook that if he can catch a ride with Seokjin after his shift ends, he might join him later. Jungkook explains he is with Hoseok and Hoseok is heard in the background shouting for Jimin to come, and Jimin briefly scolds them both before laughing and agreeing to do his best to meet them later before ending the phone call and returning to work.

As soon as Jimin returns to work, he is pulled into the kitchen to help with dishes, and drops a tray of plates when his attention is called unexpectedly from one of his unhappy customers. Shaken and apologizing for the damage, Jimin rushes from the kitchen to go address his distempered customers.
