The Lab

Space…he was in space, that, that can't be true. He can't be in space. It's not, it's not possible, there's now way. Yet, the unmistakable truth stared back at him almost mockingly. 'Yes, you are' the darkness seemed to whisper. All around him guards of different shapes and sizes struggled to restrain him, unfamiliar with what limb does what. More still flooded into the hall, several carrying heavy metal poles with what appeared to be a grasper at the end.

Izuku was numb to all of this, his eyes stayed locked on the void, thoughts swirling. He wanted to look again, get closer. His heart thrummed as he slowly lifted his chest off of the cold metal floor, straining against the imposing weight of the guards. If he could just take a second look surely the view would change, he would see that it was just a screen. Some cruel prank to trick daintiness. It had to be.

"ꈜꁝ꒐ꋖ ꒐ꋖꈜ ꁅꑀꋖꋖ꒐ꃔꁅ ꌈꉣ" A voice said.

"ꊯꌈꏳꈵ ꒐ꋖ'ꈜ ꈜꋖꌅꊿꃔꁅ, ꋠꌈ꒐ꏳꈵ ꅐꁝꑀꌅꑀ ꁲꌅꑀ ꋖꁝꑀ ꋖꌅꁲꃔꈜꉣꊿꌅꋖ ꉣꊿ꒒ꑀꈜ." Another uttered.

"ꁅꊿꋖ'ꑀꂵ" Metal locked around Izuku's wrists and waist. What little room he was able to make between him and the floor vanished as another fastened around his neck. Izuku's check pressed into the floor, but his eyes did not stray from the window.

Guards grunted as Izuku felt himself be lifted off the floor. He rose to his knees, metal collar digging into his throat. Still he urged himself forward, barely feeling himself be chocked. Another heft and Izuku found his feet under him. The pole at his waist pressed forward as the ones at his wrists kept his arms pinned to his sides.

Guards filled the space around him, clubs at the ready; and as he found himself be marched ahead his eyes still did not leave the window. As he passed the view did not changed. There was no glow of a screen nor edge of a device, what he saw was the truth.

If the guards knew how to read his expression he is sure shock would be the conclusion. Izuku's vision trained to the floor, eyes dancing back and forth as his mind raced with the information. His mouth hung open in pure confusion. Thoughts seemed to come in broken segments, but the central through line remained. 'I am in space.'

Izuku's heart thumped with the soft padding of his feet. Space, space, space, space, the word echoed his heart beat. Prior exhaustion and effects of dehydration crept back as adrenaline receded. Izuku's feet began to shuffle, ever so often catching on the floor. A hiss came from one of the pole bearers as Izuku stumbled. His vision started ripple and stomach acid turned. Izuku wasn't sure if he was about to pass out or throw up or both.

The group came to a stop, Izuku forced his wavering vision to focus. One of the guards waived a small card in front of a scanner attached to the wall and the neighboring door slide open with a mechanical whoosh. Bright lights assaulted him as he was pushed into the new room. Izuku was not given the time to observe his surroundings before he was shoved, back first, onto a vertical sheet of metal.

New clamps at his wrists, chest and neck replaced the old as the mob of guard drew away. Izuku felt himself be leaned back as the table shifted horizontal. He squinted against the overhead lights, weakly tugging at the restraints. Shadowed figures leaned over him, their faces obscured by what could be described as full bio hazard medical hoods.

"ꈜꋖꁲꌅꋖ ꃳ꒐ꊿꂵꑀꋖꌅ꒐ꏳꈜ ꈜꏳꁲꃔꈜ " One said

A green laser shot down from the ceiling and quickly enveloped Izuku's body. His struggles started a new, whatever this thing was doing Izuku wanted none of it. Counting beeps rang out from a near by console, drawling Izuku's attention. He could make out a crude outline that looked like him and a below progress bar seemed to expand with each beep.

"Their scanning me?" Izuku questioned

Just then the progress bar filled and the laser quieted away.

" ꈜꏳꁲꃔ ꏳꊿꂵꉣ꒒ꑀꋖꑀꀷ, ꒒ꑀꋖ'ꈜ ꈜꑀꑀ ꅐꁝꁲꋖ ꂵꁲꈵꑀꈜ ꐔꊿꌈ ꌈꉣ" one of the figures mumbled, " ꋻꌓ ꉣꑀꌅꏳꑀꃔꋖ ꊿꉤꐔꁅꑀꃔ, ꀤꈔ ꉣꑀꌅꏳꑀꃔꋖ ꏳꁲꌅꃳꊿꃔꀷ, ꀤꂷ ꉣꑀꌅꏳꑀꃔꋖ ꁝꐔꀷꌅꊿꁅꑀꃔ, ꎨ ꉣꑀꌅꏳꑀꃔꋖ ꃔ꒐ꋖꌅꊿꁅꑀꃔ...ꉣꁝꊿꈜꉣꁝꊿꌅꌈꈜ? ꁅꑀꋖ ꁲ ꈜꁲ꒒꒐ꃔꑀ ꀷꌅ꒐ꉣ ꌅꑀꁲꀷꐔ, ꋖꁝ꒐ꈜ ꋖꁝ꒐ꃔꁅ ꒐ꈜ ꁲ꒒ꂵꊿꈜꋖ ꀷꑀꁲꀷ"

Izuku chose to ignore the shadowed figures dancing around him in practiced steps, instead he gave himself a moment to truly take in as much of his surroundings as he could. To his left sat a similar metal bed in the up right position, dark operating light stationed above, to his right a mass of machinery. Izuku turned his head to stare back at the ceiling, he was unable to see what lay at his feet due to the restraint at his neck. He instead chose to flex his feet and ever so slightly curl his legs upwards to feel for resistance. He found none. A small smile graced his lips.

"They didn't tie down my legs." He mused.

Warbled voices came back into clarity as a new figure approached, holding a opaque bag.

"ꌅꑀꁲꀷꐔ"

A needle came into view held aloft by fleshy pinchers. A near by monitor sounded as Izuku's heart spiked. There was no way he was going to allow them to inject him with god knows what. Before anyone could react he curled his spine and swung his legs up over his head, knocking away the needle and catching the flesh of the under side of the pincher with his toenail.

Pandemonium erupted as guards surged around him trying to restrain his flailing legs. One guard, who found themselves at the receiving end of a well aimed kick, was launched into the opposite wall lined with medical cabinets. Glass shattered and wood splintered under the force. Bottles full of unknown liquid spilled. The guard laid motionless in the destruction, chest rattling with every pained gasp, blue fluid leaking under their face mask.

Izuku was blind to all of this, his fear to heavy. He screamed in the effort, arms straining against the bonds, metal groaning in response. Several members dropped to the ground, extremities clutching their heads.

"ꈜꑀꀷꁲꋖ꒐꒦ꑀ! ꁅꑀꋖ ꋖꁝꑀ ꈜꑀꀷꁲꋖ꒐꒦ꑀ!" , "꒐ ꋖꁝꊿꌈꁅꁝꋖ ꐔꊿꌈ ꈜꁲ꒐ꀷ ꋖꁝ꒐ꈜ ꋖꁝ꒐ꃔꁅ ꅐꁲꈜ ꁲ꒒ꂵꊿꈜꋖ ꀷꑀꁲꀷ! " Yelling could be heard, burred under Izuku's anguished howl.

The same nurse who held the prior needle surged forward, this time holding a syringe containing a toxic green liquid. They grabbed hold of Izuku's bicep and attempted to stick him. It was at that moment the restraint on him arm finally gave way. Izuku tore his arm upward, the sharp end of the needle tearing through skin. Hot blood spilled down his arm and coated the pincher that still hung on.

The nurse, undeterred, tried again as more attempted to keep his arm under control. This time they were successful. The needle slipped into his skin and burred deep into his muscle, the plunger was shoved down and the contents rapidly emptied.

Izuku could feel the cold liquid spread through his body, his muscles relaxed and his heart rate slowed. Darkness crept into his vision as his exhausted body fought a loosing battle. The last thing he heard was a breathless voice cutting through the dinge.

" ꅐꁝꁲꋖ ꋖꁝꑀ ꈵꑀ꒒ꋖ ꒐ꈜ ꋖꁝꁲꋖ ꋖꁝ꒐ꃔꁅ? "
