Chapter Text
The first thing that comes to mind is that it was dark and it felt like their body was underwater.
Just floating in nothing with a silence so loud it was almost terrifying if they didn't feel weirdly content as nothing could touch them here.
No people.
No sounds.
No touch.
Just them. Floating in nothing.
It was so peaceful that it was kind of boring.
Then a soul.
A soul that was such a blinding predatory red, red, reD REDREDRED
It floated closer to their purple, a soft lavender that glowed faintly in the darkness as they try to move away from the impending doom of RED but they are stuck and can do nothing but scream into the nothing as they BECOME ONE.
Eyes too many eyes, why do i have so many eyes? snap open and their first thought is that the moon looks so beautiful tonight. The way it glimmers and shines down on their face caressing their cheeks like a mother does to a child she adores making them sigh with a look of content.
But then a hand was on their body squeezing it as if trying to remind them of where they are making them blink slowly as if they just woke up from a long nap. Turning their head to see what's holding and—
How ugly. How disgusting. How dare something so grotesque touch me.
With just a swipe of their hand, thin lines appeared over then body then next thing their feet is on the ground as the curse explodes into tiny pieces. Turning around, the being walks slowly towards the railing and looked over at the shining city, cars honking, people ants, food, insects.
It quiet as the being just stood there and stared over the railing looking with this blank look before a gasp so quiet came to their left making their bottom set of eyes while the main ones still stared forward instantly zeroing in on the very injured boy making him flinch instinct crawling backwards trying to escape the chilling blank gaze as red eyes with black sclera stared not at him but into him as if trying to looking in his soul. Seeing him as if they already know everything about him just by looking at him.
"Child."
They Finally spoke, their voice soft but deep and monotone but almost as if it overlapping with someone else voice. Megumi went stiff despite them not doing anything but stand there but the only thing that comes out of his mouth is— "Huh?"
The being possessing Yuji hums finally turning towards Megumi their full attention on him, their face still blank much to his annoyance and fear.
"Pray tell, in what age do we find ourselves?"
…What? Out of all things to come out of the most feared sorcerer in history that was not it. Because of that he just sat there in baffled silence just staring at Sukuna with a gaping looking, as they stare at Sukuna they noticed that he's covered in stripes akin to a tiger and making Yuji's hair slightly curly. Sukuna stared back silently but if Megumi wasn't already looking at Sukuna he wouldn't have noticed the way their eye twitched as the silence went on.
"Cease thy fish-like gawking, boy, 'tis most unseemly for one of thine age. Now, render an answer to my query, for patience is not a virtue I possess in abundance."
But before he could answer a a hand grasped their own chin as another voice chimed in.
"Uh, what are you doing with my body?"
Silence.
Sukuna just blinked once then twice before tilting their head like curious cat that just discovered something interesting.
"…Thou art yet present? A most curious circumstance, methinks."
"…I have no idea what you just said but this is my body, so give it back!"
Sukuna hums before nodding slowly as if they just figured something out. What interesting vessel they procured.
Curiouser and Curiouser.
"Hmm, very well, for I have much upon which to ponder, in any case."
Then they fade back into the mind eyes closing and opening as they land in water so dark you would think it was ink. They laid there for a while staring up at the wisteria that moves in the nonexistent breeze with petals falling down softly on the water with the moon pealing out between the thousands of trees.
Closing their eyes, they let themselves enjoy the silence hair floating in the water.
A tug makes them open their eyes a brief look of annoyance flashing over their face before going back to blankness. Reaching a hand out, they grasped onto an invisible rope and pulled then once again they breathe in the air of the living.
The being stared at the back of the sorcerer as he rambled on about some sweet. They just stared not doing anything making the silence stretch out.
"So this is the infamous King of Curses! Gotta say I expected more!" The man sugawara taunts obviously trying to catch a rise out of them as if they were children and not grown adults.
The being blinks their eyes one at a time. "Verily, I did expect thee to comport thyself as a person of maturity, not as a jeering babe, and yet, 'tis here we find ourselves."
"Haha, the King got jokes!"
"In sooth, no jest, but mine own observation laid bare for all to witness."
The sugawara chuckles but it sound strained when he tilts his head.
"I honestly thought you would attack me by now!"
The being tilts their head but their head is tilted so far you would think the neck was about to snap off.
"Verily, such an act would be far from my intention."
"And why is that, oh great majesty?" The sarcasm was very loud.
"Why should I expend my vital force upon a matter that holds no import to my person?"
Silence.
Satoru just stared with this frozen smile with Megumi looking just as shocked as Sukuna basically just told them that he does not deem Satoru important enough to attack him. He didn't even say it as an insult, Sukuna said it like it was an unshakable fact.
Then Sukuna was gone and Yuji back at the front with an oblivious look on him.
"So, how did it go?"
…Other than the fact the Sukuna old timey asshole then yeah it went great, Satoru thought sarcastically feeling a bit insulted because who wouldn't when one of the most powerful beings in jujutsu history said in such a monotone voice that he doesn't see you as someone worthy enough to fight.
Satoru already knows hes about to have his hands full with this kid.
