Summary
A red blur against gold sand. Walking. No mount. No shade rig. No escort. "Either brave,” the courier murmured, “or catastrophically stupid.” She watched him for a while, pondering if he maybe was bait designed to draw her into a raider trap for soft hearted fools. She was no fool… but soft hearted nonetheless. With a sigh, she nudged her Toma bird into a trot towards him.
The courier network is known for two things: Reliability to deliver and messing with one of them means messing with all of them. Originally a band of Nomads specialised on riding Toma Birds, they changed into a tight knit group that has depots all over the desert.
And one of them meets Vash the Stampede in the Desert one day. Because even big events start with a single shifted grain of sand.Series

Hey sis,
I know things probably feel strange right now. I wish I could explain everything properly, but some stories have to wait until the right time to be told.
Do you remember that hiking trail we took in the Arklays when you were little? The one where you got lost because you wandered off chasing those stupid fireflies? You cried so hard you could barely talk when I finally found you.
You always did have a habit of wandering into places you shouldn’t.
If you ever feel like wandering again, remember that the obvious road isn’t always the safest one. The loud places draw attention. The quiet ones keep their secrets longer.
There are still doors people forget about. Old places that were never meant to stay closed forever. Some of them even open if you know where to stand.
Just remember to follow the light.
