The elevator doors slid open with a little chime, opening to a floor that smelled strongly of cheap cologne and pizza. Kasper's apartment.
Lampert stepped out, from what he could see so far, the place was empty. Not even Unpleasant was home, having gone to Poob's party tonight (much to the partygoers dismay.)
Kasper had invited Lampert to said party tonight, convincing their best friend by talking about how he needed to 'get out of his shell' and 'live a little.' The lamp had reluctantly accepted, deciding it was worth it if it made his Kas happy. Plus, his best friend was excited to show their friends the results of their top surgery. So here Lampert was, looking around the apartment.
Lampert knew Kasper had been struggling with dysphoria from their transition for a while, and was ecstatic about the surgery, so why hadn't they came to the party tonight? Lampert's train of thought was broken as he heard a drawn out whimper from his best friends bedroom.
"Kas? You good?" Lampert called out as he went over and pushed open the door, concern lacing his features. He was immediately alarmed as he spotted his best friend curled up on his bed, clutching his abdomen in what seemed like pain.
"Kas!" Lampert rushed over, brows furrowed in worry as he knelt at his bedside, attempting to coax Kasper into speaking to him. "What's wrong? I thought you wanted to go to Poob's party."
"I do..." Kasper finally sniffled, his voice quiet and strained as he grabbed a pillow and clutched it tight to his stomach. Lampert stood up and sat on the edge of his bed, hand hovering over his best friends shoulder, unsure whether he wanted to be touched at the moment.
"Please, let me help you." Lampert coaxed gently, deciding to place a careful hand on his best friends head, petting it. The lamp breathed out a sigh of relief as Kasper didn't pull away but instead nuzzled into his touch.
"Cramps.." Kasper finally mumbled against the pillow, their face hidden from view. Lampert nodded in understanding, he knew how his best friend got during their period. It made them feel like a girl, and they hated that more than anything.
"I'll be right back, kay?" Lampert took his hand away, much to Kasper's dismay, and stood up. He walked over to the kitchen and fumbled around in the medicine cabinet, taking a bottle out and opening it, shaking a couple pills into his hand. With the pills in one hand, Lampert opened the fridge and poured Kas a glass of water to take their meds with.
He walked back into Kasper's room, who was still hunched over, tears drying on his cheeks from the overwhelming pain in his abdomen. Lampert knelt by his bedside facing him as they coaxed his hands open and poured the pills into them along with handing him the glass of water. Kasper mumbled something gratefully as he sat up to swallow them.
"Do you have some sort of heating device?" Lampert asked gently, sitting next to his best friend on the edge of the bed. Kasper took a sip of water after taking the medicine and shook their head. The lamp frowned, taking the cup of water once Kas finished out of their hands and setting it on the bedside table.
Then Lampert had an idea. He wasn't sure if Kasper would even agree to it in such a state, but all he wanted was for his best friend to feel better. "Kas?"
"Mm?" Kasper tilted his head, feeling slightly better now that his best friend was here and that he'd taken medicine. The pillow sat beside him, untouched now as he fidgeted with his hands in his lap. Lampert almost melted at the dried tears on his face.
"I dunno if this'll be as effective as a heating pad, but... Tell me if you don't want this." Lampert swallowed his nerves the best he could and leaned forward toward Kasper, gently picking them up with surprising strength and setting them with their back against the headboard of the bed. Kasper flinched, still a bit sensitive, but allowed themself to be moved.
Lampert then timidly settled themselves on top of Kasper, straddling his hips and abdomen with a leg on either side, chests pressed against eachother. The lamp wrapped his arms around his best friends waist and buried his face into his shoulder, too shy to even look at his reaction.
Kasper was tense for a moment, but then looped their arms around the others waist happily. They hummed against Lampert's shoulder, grateful for the warmth on their abdomen and the comforting feeling of their best friend atop them like a weighted blanket.
Lampert sighed in relief as Kasper accepted his help. When his best friend was in such a state you could never be too sure, but the lamp's warmth seemed to be soothing the cramps, a sufficient replacement for a heating pad.
"Thanks, dude..." Kasper mumbled drowsily, face buried in his best friends shoulder contentedly. He was kept awake last night due to the pain and nausea, and couldn't catch a nap during the day, but now he felt as if he could finally doze off. He pulled a blanket lazily over the both of them, and fell asleep.
Lampert felt Kasper's breathing steady as they settled into rest, and he smiled against the crook of their neck. He didn't plan on moving tonight, the party and everything else forgotten as he allowed the others soft snores lull him to sleep.

Lampert woke to the sound of birds chirping outside the window. Bright sunlight filtered in through the blinds, and wisps of milky white clouds drifted past outside the window.
He instinctively brought a hand up to rub his eye before realizing both of his were wrapped around Kasper's waist. Memories of the night before came flooding in, mostly of their compromising, definitely platonic position.
Lampert pulled his head out of the crook of Kasper's neck, realizing that they were in the same place as last night, so they must've not needed to get up to puke or anything. The lamp sighed thankfully, petting the others messy brown hair without thinking about it.
"Mmnnhh..?" Kasper groaned as he slowly came to, unwrapping a hand from the others waist to rub an eye. As he blinked them open, they were suddenly blown wide. Lampert jumped, a bit startled when Kasper's grip on his waist for whatever reason tightened.
"Hey, Lampy." Kasper rasped, and Lampert internally scolded himself for blushing at how deep the others morning voice was. But still, the lamp found himself leaning in as he spoke. "You feeling better?"
"Eh, y'know.. Cramps on the second day are always the worst." Kasper shrugged, both of them noticeably not unwrapping their arms from eachothers waists. Lampert guessed that both of their minds were a bit fogged so late at night yesterday, so there was little reluctance to assume this position then.
Lamperts train of thought was broken as Kasper leaned in, burying their face into the others shoulder and tightening their grip on the others waist. They mumbled something, refusing to look at the lamps face, which Lampert found cute. "Thanks for stayin' with me, Lamps..."
"It's nothing, Ka-" Lampert began, but his breathing hitched as warm hands began travelling up and down his back, one gliding upward and drawing patterns as it went and the other dipping lower and brushing against his hips. Kasper's breath ghosted on the others neck as he muttered something against it. "Your so sweet..." He trailed kisses down the other's throat.
"Kas?" Lampert shivered, but did nothing to stop it. He had to admit, he wasn't too opposed to this, but he was still extremely shy and sensitive. He gently unlooped his hands from around Kasper's waist and placed them on their shoulders, to which Kasper pulled away and looked at the other intently.
"I.. I'm not telling you to stop, but could you wait? I don't think I'm ready for anything like this. I do like you..." Lampert looked away shyly near the end, to which Kasper nodded and settled for placing his hands in his lap. "I like you too. I'll wait for you, and whenever your ready, I'll be here."
