Chapter Text

Grace woke up, arms stretching over his head lazily, alike to a cat stretching. He was rudely interrupted from his peace by loud banging on the door. “GRACE! GRACE! GRACE!” Rocky chirped frantically.

Grace cursed, calling out a: “One sec, Rocky!” However, rocky was not having it. His banging did not falter, instead getting louder. “EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY!!”

Grace was wide awake now. Emergency? Did something go wrong in the biosphere? Was somebody hurt? Grace ran to the door, yanking it open, coming face to face with a human—half supported on rocky’s xenonite suit. His eyes were brown, like chocolate. Black hair matted with minimal care. There was a human 16.3 light-years from Earth?

While Grace was busy trying to sort out his thoughts, Rocky pushed past him, dragging the human to the laboratory and onto the table.

Grace was muttering to himself, pacing from side to side, absentmindedly nudging the door closed with his hip, biting his lip. How was there a human on Erid? Stratt wouldn’t have sent a second spaceship off, and if she hadn’t, then who would?

...

Grace followed Rocky a few minutes later into the labratory, noticing that the stranger had passed out; scratches and burns on his arms, the rest covered in thick fabric.

Armando had been wheeled over, and was now cutting open the stranger’s clothes, getting to the injuries

Grace squeaked, quickly turning around, shelding his eyes despite looking away.

“Grace was being stupid. I had to fix ♫♪♫♪ ♫ myself.”

Grace sighed, crouching down to be "eye-level" with his friend. “It was just a shock I mean, there’s a human so far from Earth? how did he—” Grace gestured behind him without looking back, wanting the stranger to have some privacy. “—get here in the first place?”

Rocky’s ‘thumbs’, as grace would call them, fiddled together, similar to a guilty student after breaking a science experiment.

“Eridians sent a message to earth. They asked for a willing participant to come to Erid, that Eridians would care for them—so you wouldn’t be alone anymore.”

Rocky paused, tilting his caraspace down.

“Eridians recieved note with the ship. said to not start war.”

Grace risked a glance back at the man, finding that Armando was treating the injuries. Their shirt—or layers of thick fabric—was discarded on the ground. What made Grace’s throat run dry, was that the man was wearing a harness.

It wasn’t high-quality. It was simple, dark and hugged his pecs perfectly—and oh. Grace needed to get out of here before his head got anymore ideas.

Grace smacked himself across the face, snapping out of his trance. “i uh—tell me if the human’s awake, i-i’ll be in the--uh..., bathroom! yeah!”

Grace ran off, leaving a confused Rocky, and an unconcious human.
