Error's life is bad, in his personal opinion.
Everyday is boring, sad, or annoying. He seemingly can't feel happiness for long amounts of time. He debates killing himself quite a lot. It's not even that he hates himself, he just wants out of this stupid life. He doesn't know why he hates his life, his life isn't all that bad, but he does. However, he doesn't want to abandon his family. So, he finds coping mechanisms. None of which are healthy.4.k.a. Error is suicidal at the ripe age of 12 and gets an opioid addiction from stealing his brother's pills.

Summary
With the impending arrival on Erid comes a whole host of worries. Grace is scared of what awaits him and how his dynamic with Rocky will change, especially because the various symptoms of malnutrition make him a nightmare to be around. Rocky assures him that he’s not going anywhere but Grace isn’t sure he can believe that.
OR:
Grace’s illness makes him stupid. Rocky isn’t sure how he can reassure him, but he tries. And now that they’re on Erid and actually have the resources to treat him, hopefully he’ll get better soon.
