Chapter Text
It wasn't every day that Benjamin King's personal line had a voice mail. It didn't ring so that meant whoever left the voice mail had made sure to go directly to his inbox. On top of that the message was a guy asking him to come to, of all places, his old Penthouse in Stilwater. He hadn't moved far from Stilwater, but he hadn't been back since he got a call from Julius after Mayor Hughes yacht explosion telling him the gangs were done in Stilwater.
It was pretty Ironic thinking about that call when he could see Johnny Gat's face on a billboard for a movie about 'Gangsta's in Space" and the purple Fleur of the Saints on that Skyscraper in the gentrified part of town. Stilwater had changed in his years away from his hometown, but it wasn't all bad. HIs Taxi took him through Sunnyvale and it hadn't look this nice since the turn of the century. there was still a copious amount of Purple, but the Buildings didn't look dilapidated, the streets were freshly paved.
A flood of memories came back when he pulled up outside the old headquarters of the Vice Kings. Years of Lieutenants and mountains of money being made and exchanged in this building gave way to the last time he was here, taking down the empire he'd built after his Lieutenants staged a coup. The same man on the billboard had accompanied him to the top floor where he watched Tanya fall to her death and with her the Vice Kings were no more.
"You must be Mr. King," a young woman said when he exited the Elevator. For all the Julius' talk of the Gangs in Stilwater being gone, he knew he was in Saints Territory. The young lady gestured for him to follow and he took stock of how the Offices had changed in his time away. The population fell off as they climbed the stairs to the bar and living area. The mini stage was cleared to leave the window open and another woman sat on the familiar looking couch set up.
"Boss, Mr. King is here to see you," The lady that escorted Ben announced.
"Thanks Viola," the woman said as Viola left the two of them alone, "Have a seat. My house is, after all, your house."
Ben sat on the couch opposite of her and thankfully he wasn't overdressed in a suit for this meeting. The other Saints had a look that was almost the same as a sports team, but the woman meeting him was in an elegant dress with a Fleur pin over her heart.
"I'm surprised to be meeting here. I hadn't expected a member of the Saints to give me a call. I didn't think anyone was left to oppose your outfit," Ben said to start.
"Well I'm not one to sit on my laurels after success. I've got goals to achieve and you've got advice I can use to achieve them," she said.
"What type of goals are we talking Miss...?"
"Boss. The Boss to my associates," She said with a smile on her face that gave way to a laugh.
Ben looked utterly confused.
"You just confirmed something for me. You have no idea who I am, do you?" She asked.
"I'll admit, I took this meeting based off the name Saints," Ben said, "they helped me clear this place out back in the day."
"Yeah, we did. Tanya took a nasty fall before you gave me the keys to this place. Had bitch of time getting it back once I got out of that coma, but I kept it nice and tidy."
Ben's eyes widened, "It's you, Julius' Lieutenant. Playa."
"The very same. Surprise. As I said I go by The Boss now, I run the Saints Ultor Media Group, LLC. and after we just completed a takeover of The Syndicate Incorporated, I'm looking to expand into other fields," The Boss said.
"I can see you've done well for yourself, Ma'am," Ben said, avoiding calling her Son like he used to.
"I know it's a shock. Last time you saw me I had a buzzcut and baggy clothes, didn't talk much and I did a lot of killing. And yes I was always a woman, just had to hide it from the Saints because you don't tend to correct a bunch of gun toting gang bangers that welcome you. When I got out of the coma I decided we were doing things my way and no one gave me any lip."
"I can see that. I couldn't get away from the color purple. You did what the VK's couldn't do, you became the only game in town."
"We did, but not without a ton of bloodshed. I also don't rest on my laurels," The Boss said, "I've got bigger goals in mind. I'm running for President."
"What?" Ben King gasped.
"Why stop at 2 cities when I can run the whole country?" The Boss smirked, "If you've got any political advice I'll gladly take it since I think my murder days might be behind me."
"I can see why you called me. You did me a massive favor to get me outta the VK's fall so I'll help you in any way I can."
"Wonderful. Viola can get you situated in the city, Welcome back to Stilwater and Welcome to the Saints, Benjamin."
"I think you've earned the right to just call me Ben, Boss."
