Chapter Text
"Crickets are so much worse here. How are you eating them like that Sash?" Anne asked through the facetime call.
Sasha rolled her eyes " You have your likes I have mine, deal with it. I don't understand what you have against them plain like this!"
"Wow Wow calm down Sashy, Anna Banana" Marcy said with a laugh " I literally JUST landed. I'm in the car still. It's so ... different here."
Anne looked at her screen with a smile "Well, turn the phone around and show usssss."
Marcy did just that and showed the highway they currently were on in which you could see a lot of forest area.
"Looks pretty normal to me," Sasha said with a shrug. She was currently lying upside down on her bed. Marcy had just left and moved to Connecticut with her family. It was a weird change, especially for Marcy. Still, though, the three had tried to make it seem like in a sense they didn't separate. Though that feeling didn't last long, it did for the beginning.
The three sat in silence for a bit.
"Mars ima mi-" Anne started.
"Nope. We are not doing this again. "Marcy's voice echoed through the call. "We still have each other. We always will. The only thing you should miss is being able to watch me beat your dad at every and all video games... not just dance though. That's a you guys will beat him type thing."
Sasha laughed "Those were really fun to do. It made the game sooo much worthwhile to play it's crazy"
"You better still play with him online or I'm never ever gonna hear the end of this " Anne mentioned
Marcy smiled. "Of course!". All of a sudden Marcy's connection got lost as she disappeared from the call.
"I hate this.." Sasha muttered.
"Me too."

"It's actually not that bad! I've made a friend! She's actually pretty cool" Marcy exclaimed with a huge smile on her face.
"Well, tell us about her." Sasha said with a smile.
"Her name is Luz! She likes like alllll the stuff I do and she doesn't really have other friends at school so we like stick together. Not replacing you guys of course but it's nice to have someone here"
"That's great Marcy!" Anne replied.
After a few days Anne and Sasha received a random facetime call. Both picked up within seconds and were met with a scream " YOU MET HER ANNE AND DIDN"T TELL ME?" Marcy screamed.
Anne rose her eyebrow in confusion. "Met who Mars?"
On que, Luz popped into the screen "Hey Anne-"
Anne blinked a few times " WAIT! THAT'S THE- YOu'RE THE- I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS THIS LUZ! How have you been? Is everything good at the boiling isles? How are King and Eda?"
Luz laughed " Pretty good, as good as it can be, and I am pretty sure also good... that sounds very repatitive-"
As the two continued to talk while Marcy freaked out Sasha just sat there confused. "What?"
Luz and Anne stopped talking all of a sudden and went into the full story
"Well we, Eda and I, happened to open a portal to Amphibia accidently" Luz started
"And Hop Pop, Sprig, Polly, and I were searching for supplies"
"And then we kinda stumbled into each other"
"And a Badger-Beetle attacked us"
"And I used my glyphs"
"And I used my racket"
"And all together we looked like total bosses!"
"And Eda and Hop Pop did absolutely nothing!"
"I... am so confused " Sasha mumbled.
"We neeeeeeed to have that sleepover!" They both exclaimed
"This is gonna be so much fun!" Marcy squealed.

Many years later, three college students were talking on their phones while doing their homework assignments and being half asleep. They would talk about the most random things and then fall into silence until one of them has something to say.
"OH MY FROG GUYS YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TODAY!" Anne exclaimed twirling herself in her chair and then getting back in camera frame.
"What?" Marcy asked lifting her head up into camera view and tell falling out of her seat. "I'm ok" she said as she got up once again.
"Oh thank frog I though you guys died or something...Again" Sasha groaned. She was waiting for one of them to just finally start talking so she could have a break off of work.
" Eh don't worry. You have till I'm... 91 I think before that!" Anne said casually. "And even then, I'll be a god so you know, don't worry about that"
There was some silence and then a scream coming from two different states "WHAT".
Anne blinked and laughed nervously "Did I not-mention that.. before?"
"NOO!" They both shouted.
"Well-"
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS?" "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 91?" " I SWEAR IF YOU ARe JOKING BOONCHUY" "TELL ME EVERYTHING!" The two started to scream
"Wow calm down calm down" Anne said. "I'll explain." Sasha and Marcy both adjusted themselves to more comfortable positions, Sasha on her bed and Marcy with her journal open ready to take notes. "So... when I .. died.. I met this like well god who was in the form of domino it was weird. Eitherway, they offered me a job, their job. You know, to like watch over the worlds and stuff cause I was the only person who would like use the gems for good. Eitherway, I declined cause obviously I was 13! So, then they decided to like make a clone and send me back sp that I can take the job when I'm older... andthentheykindatoldmewhenIwasgonnadie-"
"Huh... surprisingly I'm not even that concerned" The blonde muttered.
"Wow! That's so coooooool, you really pulled a fictional universe troupe thing there. Or well mostly mythology.." Marcy started.
After some more talking silence fell over again.
"Oh wait! Now I remember what I was gonna say. So today in class we might have had to disect a.. fro-"
"YOU WHAT?" Sasha screamed.
"You know we kind of going in circles here" Marcy pointed out.
" Yeah yeah yeah so, well OBVIOUSLY I was like absolutely not. AndthenIpulledouttheIsavedtheworldcardwhichyouknowI'vebeentryingnottodosoIkindafeelbadbutcomeon!" Anne mumbled.
Sasha laughed "Yeah that's a fun one to do. It's the only reason I managed to magically fly through college in an unrealistic rate and become a therapist way faster then humanily possible!"
"So what did they say?" Marcy asked.
"Well, I had to like pull up a LOT of evidence... and legal documents.. and had to contact Mr X But its fineeee! Over all it won't effect my grade.. much. And I don't have to do it! Especially cause it would be like directing myself in some sort of weird way-"
"Thats our girl!" Marcy and Sasha cheered out.

Change can be difficult, and sometimes we grow
It can be the hardest thing, to realize you can't hold onto something forever
But sometimes, you have to let it go
But of the things you let go, you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you
And just like that the three engulfed themselves in a much needed long awaiting hug. They all burst into tears not knowing how to verbally say anything yet. After they calmed down for a bit and Anne looked at the time, she just smiled. "I'll race ya there" she said with a smile starting to run out.
"No way your winning Boonchuy! I'm twelve times as fast as you" Sasha called out running after her.
"Wait for me!" Marcy exclaimed.
When all three girls were outside catching there breathe Anne's eyes widened all of a sudden. "Frog damn it, I forgot to sign out. I'll be right back" She mentioned as she walked back into her work space.
The two girls looked at each other and smiled as nothing was heard but comforting, familiar silence, and Crickets.
