Sukuna breaks the silence, clear in setting up the tension. "You only call me for one reason anyway."
"Hmmm."
"What happened to 'this is the last time' ?" Sukuna questions in a curious tone, almost mocking of Toji.
Again, like he always does, he avoids eye contact. "This is the last time." Toji corrects, taking another big gulp of his drink.
"Are you telling me or yourself that?" Sukuna questions.
Toji doesn't reply. And he doesn't need to because the answer is obvious to both of the men in the room. Toji spares himself the humiliation and downs the rest of his drink. Sukuna watches as Toji places the empty can on the already messy coffee table before standing up.
"I'll be in the room." Toji mutters without a second glance. Sukuna doesn't flinch but he knows that he's struck a nerve. He doesn't feel bad. He never does. He simply watches, amused as Toji disappears into his bedroom leaving the door open by an inch.
