While I'm not of the opinion that Clint is *that* intelligent (there's a certain amount of mental hunger that comes with above- above-average capacity that almost unavoidably develops at least a faint air of intellectualism, which Clint does not give off -- but I suppose there's enough versions of Clint floating around that I could believe in one somewhere who hides it behind an unassuming mask (he's a spy for goodness sakes) and just honestly doesn't believe he's anything special, given how his life development went), he's undeniably a pretty bright guy.
One of my favorite things about Clint's design is that he's just so enormously *good-natured* about things, and I find that incredibly admirable. As a jaded idealist turned-cynic, I *miss* not being world-weary. Clint's *definitely* seen more shit than I have, and he's remarkably cheerful; he cheers me up ;P -

Summary
There were many rumours about the Black Widow, some of which might even have been true. The most reliable of these were presented to Clint in maybe the sketchiest mission briefing he'd ever received, full of words like 'allegedly' and 'probably' and 'although it seems unlikely' which seemed out of place in a SHIELD file. There was only one piece of information that truly surprised him.
