“We didn’t deserve that.” He says it quietly, sadly, like he thinks about it too much, but it’s something Hawks has never thought about, never considered until this moment. The white hot anger that had begun to boil around his heart spills over then, comes out in muscle spasms until his nails break the skin on his palms.
“It’s okay,” Dabi hums, peeling his hands open, wiping away the little droplets of blood pooling in his palms, “We’re gonna make them pay. That’s why you’re here, right?”
