Maybe they have different philosophies about their role as Volstrucker. Maybe Astrid can't understand Eadwulf's faith or maybe Eadwulf can't understand Astrid's loyalty.
Happy and unhappy endings both welcome. I'm just curious to see them at odds when we usually see fanworks of them as a unit/bonded pair!
