Lloyd’s eyes widened. “Get back!” He shouted loudly, leaping towards them in a Spinjitzu tornado and whisking them a few metres backwards. Sora and Arin barely had time to yelp before the tiles they were standing on suddenly fell down, straight into…who knows where.
Familiar colours and distorted visions entered their gaze, and Arin gaped.
“Is that a Mergequake happening on land?”

Possessions are already a terrible enough experience by themselves. Sometimes a benign ghost messes around with you if you enter a haunted site at the wrong time, leaving you weak and dazed in the morning - but more importantly, alive, and just a little confused at most.
...Other times, cruel spirits choose people to possess for their own personal gain, and that's exactly what happens to a certain Lloyd Garmadon on a fateful trip to the museum.

And the first time he saw her as a daughter.
Ever since unlocking her True Potential, Sora has had to come to terms with the fact that her parents were just awful people. They never loved her, only the family image they gained from having her. That was fine though. It wasn’t like Sora needed parents, even if the idea of having someone be there for you and care for you in that sort of way had always appealed to her. Besides, if her own parents couldn’t give her that, who else could? Why bother hoping for something you’ll never have?
Ever since stopping the Mergequakes, Lloyd has come to realize just how much he cares for his students, and how afraid he is of losing them. All he wants is to protect them and keep them close. However, he knows it can’t last forever. Arin’s parents are still out there somewhere, and Sora… well, she’s independent, and he wouldn’t want to be the one to tie her down. Besides, it’s not as if they see him as anything more than their teacher and friend. Why try and change something that’s not broken?
Sora never asked to be chosen. Lloyd never thought she wanted to be. Turns out family can form even when neither one is aware of it. Funny how love works like that.

“Shut UP,” Lloyd snapped, the words ripping out harsher than he meant. “You don’t know anything.”
“On the contrary,” Ras hissed, “I know exactly what you are. The child of two immortal races… who cannot survive being both.”
Arin’s face went pale.
“Lloyd…” His voice cracked. “That… that isn’t true, right?”
Lloyd didn’t answer.
Because Lloyd wasn’t there.
The wind stopped. The sky dimmed, like even the clouds knew to be afraid. Lloyd’s head snapped up, and his eyes—
His eyes weren’t green anymore.
A vibrant, luminous purple swallowed his irises whole.
