Usually, there are no ill-made nests. A nest is tailored to the omega who builds it. Daemon knows that. And he's pretty sure Jacaerys knows it as well.

Summary
Jace knew change well, but in the face of this new home and new family, he wasn't sure of his place. He may be his mother's firstborn, her heir, but his newest brother was undoubtedly a Targaryen, with his silver hair and violet eyes. He was the first of his siblings to be trueborn and his mother doted on him greatly. It was not so different from the way he remembered her acting with Joffrey when he was first born but everyone on Dragonstone was delighted and joyful. He couldn't ever remember him or his siblings being treated the way Aegon was.
(Or: Rhaenyra comforts and reassures her first son.)

Summary
This fic is inspired by all the tiktoks I've seen comparing Aerion and Jace, cause I agree they really do look alike.
-------‐-
"Where am I?" Jace whispered through his hazy thoughts and that chilling cold that shook his bones.
The man frowned at him.
"We are in Lord Ashford's Castle, son," he answered, concern etched into his features.
He looked at Jace like that was supposed to tell him something, to jog a memory in his brain, but it didn't and he could do nothing but stare back blankly. He shook his head, and it felt unbearably heavy. He didn't know where he was, and he was surrounded by strangers. He had to find out, make sense of things. The room started spinning and he knew what would come next.
"No, I...who are you?" he managed to croak out, frustrated.
"Don't play dumb with me now Aerion, I'm your father," Jace barely still heard through the ringing in his ears, before everything turned black.
