Eduardo's life is perfect. He's always been a high achiever, he made 300k trading oil futures in a summer and got into Harvard, and then he met his best-friend-slash-soulmate, Mark, and proceeded to co-found a billion dollar social media startup that changed the world. Now, they're about to get married. Mark is his soulmate. Mark has always loved him unfalteringly, and will never betray him. Eduardo sees no reason why things would ever change.
Until he starts getting these strange dreams. Places he doesn't remember being. A deposition. An open office in Palo Alto. 0.03%.
An accident.
Slowly, he comes to realize his world isn't real - and more terrifyingly, he suspects that Mark is the reason he's trapped here.
(can go either way, either mark actually went full yandere and tried to kill eduardo to prevent him attacking the company or someone else set him up, and mark's been keeping wardo's consciousness alive to try and investigate what actually happened while he's in an actual coma, etc.)

To cope with post-deposition loneliness Eduardo gets into online gaming. As a complete noob, he doesn't understand why people are killing him left and right when all he wants to do is farm chickens in the beginner village....but luckily an experienced player shows up, saves him from the sad fate of being spawn camped and proceeds to teach him about the game. Before he knows it, he's really addicted to the game (definitely the game, and not the player). They even get married ingame (for the couple stat bonus, of course).Falling for someone online is pretty lame, but a small crush can't hurt, right?
That is, until Eduardo realizes that this player is actually Sean Parker. Who he absolutely detests in reality.
