But the lure of brunch, and coffee, has become the typical bribe to get him out of bed of a morning. His soulmates were clearly learning too well what would get him out of bed; he needed to find more ways to keep them in bed with him, instead.

Yennefer took a deep breath, trying to calm the helpless panic that started to creep into her chest at the witcher's lack of care. She muted her voice to a near whisper, knowing full well that he would still be able to hear her, and called after him, in a final, desperate bid for his help:
“He was smuggling elves out of Redania!”
The witcher stopped abruptly.
She could see how his shoulders tensed, as he stood there, stock still at the end of the street. Nothing happened for a long moment.
And then, he turned his head, his eyes truly locking on hers for a second time. Only they were different now. Still gold and piercing, but serious. Without a trace of the previous contempt.
“Fuck.”
Yennefer is fruitlessly searching for Jaskier after he gets kidnapped in Oxenfurt.
Then, she runs into Lambert.

Summary
Years after the Mountain, Jaskier is...invited to Kaer Morhen by Yennefer. Instead of a decrepit keep, he arrived at a rebuilt and bustling castle. Yenn explained that after he last saw Geralt, the witcher sequestered himself in the keep, eventually joined by other wolves who were sick of the world of man. Then, witchers of all schools came to find reprieve, followed closely by humans seeking refuge from malevolent rulers.
But Kaer Morhen had reached its capacity for subjects. Soon, they would have to turn refugees away. Thus, Jaskier was summoned. Kaer Morhen needed to expand, and Geralt needed the people of the land he planned to take not to fear him. Who better to turn public opinion than the bard who penned Toss a Coin? Geralt expected Jaskier to sing happy songs about chivalrous witchers who would never abandon their friends at the peak of a mountain. The fucker.
An overarching story to justify (rather long) vignettes following the lives of both canon and original characters as they find their way to Kaer Morhen and find themselves behind its walls.

Summary
Geralt takes a bad wound right before he is supposed to go up the mountain for the winter. Jaskier decides to go to Kaer Morhen in the worst way possible, uninvited with an injured Witcher.
