Cody wouldn’t mind sharing with this one. Rex was different. He was perfect. Handsome, with broad shoulders and a lovely smile. Cody was going to keep this one. Rex bent down to look into the lower cupboards and the door of the one above him swung a little further open, settling right above Rex’s head. Cody gathered some energy and nudged it closed.

Summary
In the six months they haven’t seen each other, Rex has received a crash course in the Force and how it works. He knows he will never be as skilled as Master Windu or Skywalker, but Master Plo Koon has taught him enough. Enough to be useful, to have his own platoon.
Cody seems wary, guarded, even from him, but Rex has learned enough to be able to pick up on his old friend’s energy; clear as a light in the middle of the night, something sharp and acidic, ready to sting.
Cody is still at attention, but his eyes betray him—he is curious about Rex.
